The view is amazing, easily the best part of the hotel. If you stay here, take the water view, otherwise don't bother. Their home brewed Ale is actually pretty decent also! The three stars are not more, because the hotel is expensive and not kid friendly. If I was here on business it would have been four, no question.

The restaurant was serving a buffet for dinner when i stayed her and it was ok, they have a good selection of beers and wines they have colouring books for families with young children. There is a piano in the restaurant so I guess at some stage someone plays it? The rooms are well presented with lots of natural daylight. All in all a decent hotel one which I would use again. Needles to say the staff were all multilingual, as there was a large group of spanish people staying here and the staff switched from their native tongue to spanish then english and back again.

They use Ramson leaves which was new to me grounded into an herb dust. The dust makes the butter extra savory. Husband had the steak and says the best ribeye of his life and he is Australian. Service is table service. Bilingual staff which was helpful. They were kid friendly as well and brought our 9yo niece a coloring book and color pencils. Ambiance is elegant, overlooking the Fjord.

First off, we arrived late, after 3, but were warmly welcomed. Our host took our menu order and within minutes, our lovely lunch arrived. I had a fresh fish plate and my man had a light beef dish. An amazing view of two bridges ("Old Lillebælts bro" and "New Lillebælts bro") spanning the waters. Ample parking-space, when I did find it. I was so tired that I missed the exit and drove straight to the main entrance (wondering grumpily why the hotel only had 2 parking-spaces, and why they were in front of the entrance....hihi). The hotel was a conference center and there was a few people attending some conference while I stayed at the hotel, but they didn't bother me. Note: The ingenious corridor next to the main hotel desk. Called "Tankegangen" (corridor of thoughts) - it featured many wise sayings from famous people from fiction and real life. What a brilliant touch. Top marks!! The hotel staff greeted me and showed me to my room situated on the top floor overlooking the courtyard. A small room, but it was just about right for me (lonesome-voyage only!). I have always been partial to the danish people being so friendly and helpful. This stay was no exeption. In the evening I enjoyed a beautiful sunset (compliments of the management no doubt..(cheeky!) - had a good nights sleep and was refreshed the next morning - ready for my onwards journey. A hearty Danish breakfast put the final "cherry on top" on my stay at the hotel. Too bad it was only for the one night this time. Thank you - all the staff of the Severin - for a brilliant stay! I will be back again.
