I'm surprised this resort got mixed to bad reviews! Well, our stay was great! We normally go to Great Wolf Lodge in Fitchburg but I wasn't going to book that during school vacation! Prices are sky high! We spent two nights here at Jay Peak Hotel with easy access to the waterpark located on the 2nd floor. (Our room was on the 5th floor overlooking the mountains with a nice balcony). The suite was perfect with a full kitchen! It had everything we needed. I packed food to cook at the hotel and that was a smart idea, saved money! If you don't want to pack food, there's a "General Store" within 5 minutes walk and it has everything you need: bacon, eggs, veggies, meats, cheese, snacks, beverages, wine, etc! The suite was cozy for the four of us. The kids slept in the living room with the pull out sofa bed. We stayed in the bedroom with the king sized bed separate from the living area. Living room also had a gas fireplace (lovely)! The kids even packed their PS4 and was able to connect the console and use the Wi-fi instantly. The waterpark wasn't as packed as we thought it would be, which was awesome. We stayed there Wednesday and Thursday night. Waterpark passes were available to use Wednesday up arrival, all day Thursday, and all day Friday. Passes are included w/the hotel package which was only $300/night. Overall, we had a blast. We stayed arrived here on MLK Day and stayed for 3 nights. We bought the ski and ride package which was a great deal! It included the room and 4 days of skiing for both my fiance and I. We paid more than double at another ski resort. It was so convenient staying at the base of the mountain because Jay doesn't really have a town and it snowed the whole time we were there so it was great not having to drive. Our room was pretty clean. I did find some hair that wasn't ours and that skeeved me out a little. The hotel was empty during our stay so I cannot comment on the noise level. What I liked about our hotel: The bathroom was HUGE and it had plenty of towel hooks which I appreciated. The room itself was also a good size and had a large closet. I loved the balcony. The general store within the hotel is soooo convenient! It had a deli and anything you could possibly need. Everyone I saw working for the hotel was wearing masks appropriately! What I did NOT like: I wish our room had a mini fridge but because it was the middle of winter I kept anything I wanted cold out on the balcony. The room heating system is SOO LOUD. It's insanely loud. I tried turning it off so I could get some sleep but the wall thermostat did nothing. It was really frustrating. The sheets were pretty scratchy. There is nowhere to eat during the week. The only restaurant open for dinner was the Foundry which had limited options and was way overpriced. There isn't even any options outside of the hotel nearby. I also wish we had a microwave because I didn't want to eat at the foundry every night. read more

For what this venue charges, the value is nowhere near worth it. Rates are through the roof even before the slopes open. What you get for that is rude and salty restaurant hosts (I'm looking at you bearded VT bro at Foundry), and water park operating hours that barely exist (6pm closing on a Sat afternoon). Good luck finding anything (even a pub) open at the ungodly hour of 9pm as well. Such a disappointment, dare I say even Fail Resorts offers a better value than this place. Don't bother with coming to Jay, unless you're ok with a mediocre experience while being charged much more than you'd want to pay for it. read more

Decided to get a massage at the Taiga Spa inside the Hotel Jay and I was disappointed. I am a massage regular, so I was surprised to only get half of a massage for the price of an expensive full one. The male masseuse massaged my legs and back. No neck, no arms or shoulders and did not have me roll onto my back- which was a first in all of the massages I've ever had. I suspect because the 18% gratuity is included, they don't need to focus on service. read more

Currently driving home from our vacation at Jay Peak and it was so hard to leave. Our whole group spent the last few minutes pretending we might be able to stay one more night or week but sadly work calls. We all had an amazing time here and will definitely be coming back as soon as possible. We arrived on Wednesday planning to snowboard for the day then check in for the night but were thrilled to be told we could check in at 10am, which I'm sure was because it wasn't busy, but was nonetheless very appreciated. Our hotel room was somewhat small but as we booked for economy totally not a problem. The whole wall was a giant window which gave us beautiful views of the surrounding areas. The room was clean and nice and had a keurig machine with coffee pods. A closet area and an area with pegs for our stuff and the bathroom was like a spa. The beds were really comfortable and the pillows were amazing. I care a lot about my beds/pillow and I was very pleased, We were able to get dressed right in our room and walk down to customer service to get our tickets and right out to the lift. Jay peak is and was amazing, no suprise. Then after we were able to use our wristbands provided with our room to spend the evening at the waterpark, which was completely perfect after the cold and tiring day on the slopes. The whole park was kept super warm which felt great and after enjoying the hot tub and water slides, I was able to go up to the bar and enjoy a drink while I watched my boyfriend try out the wave pool. Love that you can watch people getting in la chute, the crazy water slide, on a screen and then see them fly through it and come out at the bottom. For dinner, we got pizza from mountain dicks and beer from the convenience store and relaxed in our rooms before calling it a night. Overall a great experience and I can't wait to come back. If you really want to relax and enjoy your trip to Jay, stay here and enjoy forgetting about your car for a little while. read more

STAY AWAY! We booked a room at the Jay Peak Resort for their splash park family package. It was NOT worth it. The water park is fun, but it doesn't save the experience. The Hotel: Looks nice from the outside but it's not a first class resort. We got into our room and immediately noticed our bed, which was advertised as a queen-sized bed, was not. When I called the front desk they said it was but we have a queen bed at home and it large enough for my wife, me and my 3-year old to sleep in. This one was not. I ended up sleeping on the worlds most uncomfortable sofa bed. The room lacks the simple things, like a dresser. It was weird because they have it set up like people will have an extended stay but other than a few hangers the only place to store close were two exposed cubby holes in the bed frame. I've simply never stayed at a hotel without a dresser. Motel 6 has dressers for crying out loud. The are no menus in the room and when asked about room service, was told it was not offered. No room service at a luxury priced resort? I'm not fancy but when you're staying with kids, room service is a life saver, and expected. Nope, not here. They only have two restaurants on site that were open, a pizza place and a bistro style placed called The Forge. When I looked for menus in the room I found none. When I called the front desk to ask they confirmed they don't put menus in the rooms and directed me to the website. The website is another shit show. It's a terrible mess of overlapping menus and options that provides virtually no information. The pizza place did have a menu but The Forge had a "sample menu" Why? I went to the front desk to ask about a real menu and they again mentioned the website. When I mentioned it was a sample menu they said "well, most of the things are the same" They were not. We were also given inaccurate hours for the waterpark, literally their main draw and the reason we were there. They told us it opened at 11 on Sunday so we delayed our start and decide to finally go to the outdoor pool at 1030 only to see the park full. Strong work Jay! Days two and three proved no better than the first. The only on-site restaurant, The Forge, has an extremely limited menu. For dinner the second night we ended up buying hotdogs from the store and cooking them in our room. That was a better option than their food. The best meals we had there were at the snack shop in the waterpark. This place is not ready for prime time or rather is not what it claims to be. Simple things like a hotel directory, not present. It wasn't until I saw huge posters outside the waterpark that I learned the in-house phone numbers for services. We had pizza the first night (not that good) and I ended calling the restaurant from my cellphone as their is simply NO information anywhere in our room. These little corners they've cut, like no butter on toast unless ordered, or minuscule amount of cream cheese on the cream cheese and lox bagel, expose that they're trying to save money at the margins. That's all well and good I suppose but not if you're charging what they're charging. When you charge for luxury prices you need to deliver luxury service or at least try to come close. Jay does not and does not seem to mind. I know they got caught up in the EB-5 visa scandal. I had no idea how much it hurt them until we stayed there. First time at Jay Peak and decided to stay at Hotel Jay at the base. The hotel has a very institutional feel but the room was comfortable and quiet. A mini fridge would be a good addition to the room. My main complaint is that the check in time was 5 pm and the checkout time was 10 am, which seems a bit late/early on each end. I had a ski package that included 2 lift tickets for the days after my check in. I assumed that I could use the ski locker for my room for the second day of skiing but was told it had to be vacated by 10 am. This makes no sense since the next guests can't check into until 5 pm and wastes time shuttling equipment on a ski day! I was told by the front desk manager that I was the only one who complained about this but there is a TripAdvisor review from today with the same comment so maybe listen to your guests instead of defending a bad policy. All in all, an ok stay but I would probably look to stay at the Tram Haus next time as it seems like a better choice for those without kids. read more

Staying in a Slopeside condo. We needed to initial we didnt have pets as a renter. The unit above was being used by an owner with 2 dogs who barked nonstop. We asked to be moved and we were given a similar unit however the tv service was disconnected and there was an abundance of small bugs in the unit. Never again. read more

I want to give 5 stars, but can't. Here is a cut and paste email I sent directly to the email given on their website:______ Although we had a fairly nice stay at the Hotel Jay, despite the extremely cold weather this past weekend, I do have a complaint. Which I did call the front desk at 10:35pm Saturday night to 'complain' to which it seemed they shrugged it off and said "Ya I know". My complaint is that kids run the halls all day & night. (which also means they are tying up the slow/busy elevators ALL day long) I don't expect your employees to be baby sitters or hall monitors but maybe you should have security constantly walking the halls to stop kids from running and yelling, oh ya and stealing my 'do not disturb' sign. It's not your fault that parents just let their kids run wild, but there should be some kind of enforcement and accountability. I also saw kids horsing around in the hot tub in the pump house, trying to go underneath and breathing the air shooting out (it's a thing). Again it's not my job to babysit other peoples kids either, and guess what? The kid coughed his brains out because he inhaled a ton of water. Now how is that supposed to be fun and relaxing for me when I have to worry about other peoples kids so 'their parents can have a great time'? Hopefully we'll come back one day, it isn't often I never go back after one incident, but here is also so many places to go and try out. PS, one of the guys working the sandwich counter at the provisions general store was super nice, friendly, and courteous. (sorry I didn't get his name, although at one point I was nervous because he was using his phone while wearing food service gloves. I though he might start making a sandwich without changing them, but he did change them, so that was good) OWNERS RESPONSE:Thanks for your comments Jenn and glad you've had a fairly nice time. We really enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Jay. We were there for a friend's wedding and it was our first time visiting a ski resort in the summer months. The hotel strikes a nice balance between being modern but also having a cabin feel to it. Our hotel room was very clean and was a great size. The bed was super comfortable too! There was a convenient coffee shop downstairs that also sold some toiletries. The staff was very friendly and helpful as well. We also visited some of our friends cottages on the property and they were beautiful! Definitely hoping to come back for another stay during ski season! read more

Here for a hockey tournament. The hotel "security" staff went out of their way to harass guests in their suites because "they" deem it to be too loud and would not leave us alone. We held a block (10) of rooms at the end of a hallway. No one was inconvenienced nor disturbed except for us. The passive aggressive staff stood outside our suite pouncing on us every 5 minutes. Really? This is what I paid Boston prices for; to be scolded before 10pm repeatedly because they could hear us inside our suite if they stood at our door?! Profiling the same people that provide you with ample revenue. Hallway monitors with nothing better to do than harass adults (8) trying to have a nice time. Again, had a block of rooms, no one running down hallways, kids in check. A very poor experience. Will not be back as I can speak for 2 teams. A total head shaker. Why? For what purpose? Congratulations. I guess you won the night but not the client service award. 30 tired rooms for 3 nights; won't be back. read more

Terrible service for top dollar. The resort shuttle is a joke. Stood outside waiting and they literally drove away with us shouting and running after them. We stayed at Hotel Jay for two nights as part of a group's skiing outing. We had never been to Jay Peak before and were looking forward to it especially since we had heard that they built a new hotel and water park. It was pretty easy to find the hotel however, signage to the front entrance to the hotel was lacking. There was a sign before the hotel entrance with an arrow pointing right, however, if you took the right in front of the arrow you ended up in the front parking lot and had to drive all the way around to get to the hotel entrance. The hotel is fairly new and they seem to be working on getting things right. For example, when we checked in they had 2 luggage carriers that were being used. There wasn't anyone running the baggage area so you had to wait for an empty carrier to be returned by the guests who weren't always bringing them back down to the lobby. Check in was quick since we were part of a group and they had our packets already, however, the front desk clerk didn't give us information like check out times or a map of the resort. The resort has a huge locker room area to store your skis, the only drawback is that it's on the second floor of the hotel so you either have to wait for the elevator (which is slow) or carry the skis up two flights of stairs. Everything at the hotel is activated by a chip in a wristband that they give you when you check in. The wristband has information for your room key, lift tickets and even water park tickets. We had to use the wrist band to enter into the locker room area where the skis were held. We had a problem opening our locker because the previous guest locked it and left so we had to wait until someone from the front desk came up and unlocked it for us. they Just need to work out some kinks. Our room was on the second floor around the corner from the fitness studio. We had a king size bed. The room was very new and the bed was comfortable. The biggest problem with the room was that there was no chair to sit down on. You either sat on the bed or stood up. We would have like to have a chair to sit on when we put our boots/shoes on. The lighting in the room was also pretty poor. you couldn't read anything with the light provided. The bathroom was also very large with large area between the toilet and the shower. It was so big that you could have put a table in there (many with chairs?). The provided the typical amenities however, they didn't restock the shampoo and conditioner the second day even though we were almost out. The shower was a low flow fixture so it seemed like a lot of water was coming out, however, you pretty much only got misted. The room also includes a K-cup style coffee maker in the room and they provide regular, decaf and hot chocolate. The fitness center was very huge and included both dumbbells and barbells included a cable machine and several treadmills/rowing machines. The water park is attached to the hotel as well as the restaurants in the resort so you never have to leave the heated interior unless of course you want to ski. (The skiing was GREAT BTW) We dined at the Foundry and Alice's table. More on those in another review. All in all, we enjoyed our stay here and would definitely come back. I think they need to work some of the kinks out of the hotel which will make it perfect. The staff at the hotel was very friendly and helpful and couldn't have been more accommodating. Where to begin.. We purchased a nights stay at Hotel Jay with the Splash & Stay package in a one bedroom unit. At check in I was greeted by a less than enthusiastic agent who asked for the typical credit card and ID. I proceeded to hand them to her and she informed me we'd be paying 'for the second half' of our bill. We prepaid for this hotel room which was spelled out on the invoice she handed me to sign. When i informed her of this she once again corrected me, saying I would be paying for the second half of my bill. Third times the charm I guess because when I offered my invoice which stated I had paid over $300 and suggested that a one night stay in a one bedroom unit was certainly not $600 it finally clicked. She begrudgingly finally acknowledged I had in fact prepaid my bill and sent me on my way. We used the pool as it was beautiful out and check in was at 4 so we decided to use our park passes for Saturday. The lifeguard kept insisting our daughter could not be in the pool unsupervised. Let me premise this by saying both my husband and myself were sitting pool side watching her, she is fully capable of swimming, was wearing floating wings (the coastguard approved ones), and only floats around in the shallow end.. Still, he insisted one of us physically be in the water with her.. Totally ridiculous and clearly he had a big fish small pond complex but rather than argue my husband went in anyway. We had called the front desk prior to going out to ask if they provided towels (we had brought our own but wouldn't lug them around if unnecessary) and they had told us they did. After his forced dip he went to grab some and they were paper thin dish sized towels.. Probably a decent size for my four year old.. You have a water park but provide those? Nice. Fast forward to night time, no surprise that my two tired under 4 year olds crashed instantly. After putting them to bed I turned on the AC (it was 85 degrees today) and went to bed myself. An hour later I woke up, overheated and confused as my room felt like a sauna more than a cooled hotel room. I check the AC.. Not on at all.. Our room sits directly over the heated steamy water park so you can imagine how hot the rooms in that area get. Call the front desk and who I presume was the overly helpful girl at check in answers the phone. I explain my troubles and she instructs me how to reset the AC.. Still nothing. Tells me she will send a maintenance person to my room. I proceed to get dressed turn lights on and try not to wake up my entire family.. Sitting.. Waiting.. Ten minutes pass and No one shows up. The front desk then calls to tell me the guy checked and a fuse was missing but they could move me to another hotel room. At this point we are past 11 pm, my children are sleeping, our stuff is everywhere... (Yes we actually unpacked our suitcase).. So I tell her moving is not an option. I ask if maintenance can replace the fuse. This is where it gets really special, she tells me they have all gone home! A mountain full of hotels full of guests and not a single maintenance man on site.. Are you kidding me? This is also Strange to hear considering one had just told her my fuse was broken? I asked if they knew the room had no working AC to which she replied she didn't know. Hmm. Over $300 for a hotel room during the summer to use the water park and no working AC? No one on call for maintenance issues? She said she would let me speak to her manager. Five minutes later she is back with a message from her manager saying there is nothing they can do. Nice that the manager couldn't even pick up the phone to appease a disgruntled customer. No apologies, no sorry for the inconvenience. I asked her what she was prepared to do for me to which she said that 'wasn't her department' and I'd have to speak to guest services in the morning. Not exactly what I wanted to spend my weekend getaway dealing with. As I read the other reviews depicting others poor treatment and horrible customer service experiences I wish I had read them before I came here.. Next time we want to use a water park we will go to Water Country of Granby Zoo.. Bigger parks and nicer people! Thank you Jay for this underwhelming experience! Update: 12 pm, went to vending machine to get cold waters.. It was broken, out of order, not accepting bills.. Good thing they have a maintenance man on site to take care of it.. Oh, wait...... 1 am - Still wide awake sweating and trying to go to sleep but every time I close my eyes all I can hear is the pounding of water and loud music coming from the water park. Yes, the water park. The same one they advertise as closing at 9 pm is still open at 1 am for some unknown reason? I assume the heat is also still on which explains why my hotel room is maintaining a balmy 80 degrees. 7am - Put creamer in my much needed coffee.. It didn't mix right.. Checked the exp date and it was a month old! Gross! Truly the icing on the cake to my horrible experience here. read more

Absolutely, completely, utterly disappointed and will never go here and recommend that families with children stay away. So did I get your attention? I sure hope so. I wanted to pass along to all families that they should never go this place for the water park. We have a small son, and Mother's Day coming up. We made a reservation to go Hotel Jay and the Water Park. To their credit, their site and email all have their cancellation policy. All that being said, a water park caters to families with kids. A 14 day cancellation for a full refund (and a $25 fee) does not take in to account that kids get sick. Get where this is going? Well, our son who will be 4 soon, is throwing up, has a fever, and is getting sick from the other day. When we called 3 days before our reservation to avoid putting a child in a car with diarrhea for four hours, they said they would cancel our reservation only with a doctors note. Seriously? A doctors note? Sure, we'll call our doctor who is attending to sick kids to get him to fax a letter stating he shouldn't travel. That done, I called and asked if we can simply change our date for when we are going to Vermont in June. We were told "No", only if you come back in April. Does that make any sense at all? So, instead of having our full rate in June, they would rather have our $25 cancellation fee now. Does the smallest bit of logic apply here? We cannot make it back in April, and WE'VE GOT A SICK CHILD. I understand it is their "policy", but shouldn't a policy be a guideline for the smallest bit of common sense. Now through the power of social media, I sure hope I prevent one other family with a child from booking here. Kids get sick. We weren't calling to cancel because we did not want to come to the Hotel Jay and the Pump House. We want to come. I've got a child who's crushed that something he was looking forward to do so much, and he can't go. I certainly hope someone from the Hotel Jay sees this and has some sort of logical response. read more

Just spent 3 terrific nights at the new Stateside Hotel. This part of the resort is a mile from the main Hotel & Conference Center where the water park, tram, ice rink and shops are. It was a really good deal and honestly once the trip was in full swing I was really happy to be a little off the beaten path. The hotel is very new and has a very nice look and feel. It's modern with a enviro friendly approach (housekeeping every other day and your room key activates and shuts down the power to your room when you come and go). All the employees are very nice and attentive. The water park is not overwhelming and has some very nice features you don't see everywhere. It is absolutely swarming with lifeguards so if your child can is old enough to guide their own play you can give them a lot of liberty. The arcade and family rooms are nice distractions. The tram ride and the view of the countryside were the pleasant surprise of the trip. Having grown up in the central part of the state, I'd neglected this area and frankly the natural beauty is unmatched. Everything at the resort is reasonably priced and in many cases half or less what you would pay at resorts in the central or southern part of the state. It's rustic and not nearly as built out as other Vermont destinations. That means fewer choices but if you like an inclusive experience (and with small kids it helps in my opinion) it's simple and fun. The only reason I left off the fifth star was frankly, the restaurants. We tried The Forge and Howies (at Stateside) and service was slow (something I've found typical of ski resorts off-season) and we did not get a single good meal. The onsite pizza place is passable. Maybe we just hit a rough patch but I suspect everything is prepped remotely. I might give them another chance in-season but I f I had it to do over again, I might bring groceries (there's a little general store onsite for basics and snacks) eat pizza once a day and skip the restaurants. read more

Very nice accommodations but the overall resort is pretty terribly laid out. Night life is awful. They don't have an "adult" pool which if you don't have kids it's like chucky cheese. No place to relax at all for adults besides spa services. Food overall was excellent. Also the prices on food, drinks and everything else was abnormally low. read more

The newly renovated Jay Hotel is nice. Our one bedroom suite was new, clean, and spacious. Large refrigerator, keurig coffee maker, and Murphy bed were perfect for our family of four. We had a large balcony overlooking the waterpark(pretty cool). Once checked in, we were pretty self sufficient but what staff we did interact with, were friendly and professional. read more

Water park could be great...but they allow people to leave their stuff to "reserve" the tables, so if you want to have lunch or a beer, nothing is available. There are all these empty tables, but nowhere to enjoy your lunch. RIDICULES!!! read more

I really wanted to love our little family get away but it was disappointing. I purchased a package deal that included the water park and a tram ride with our room at Hotel Jay. I did the math and it was about what it would cost for me to buy it all separate (certainly not a deal)...I figured I would buy it all at once because that way we didn't have to worry about buying the tickets for each thing when we got there. To start, the room...for two adults and three children they said the room slept 5 that we got and it was a king size bed and a Murphy bed that was about a full size. I don't know how they thought that would sleep 5!! We ended up having to put one on the floor...(and they said they would alert us that our room was ready since we arrived early for the water park...they did not). The water park was clean and the kids had fun, however I certainly would have purchased the separate water park pass for $10 to just monitor the kids rather than the $39.99 for the adult pass (again it was included in the hotel room purchase that was hundreds more than the room price itself). When I made the reservation they did not tell me of that option even when I said I couldn't swim due to an injury. Very disappointing to see that when we got there. Then the next day we went to do the tram ride and it was shut down due to wind! Each tram ride ticket was worth $15 for the two adults and I think $10 for each child so the total value was $60! Well they only gave me $15 dollars refund and the lady at the front desk gave me some attitude. They said that's all that it was worth since I purchased the package. I questioned it and they refused to even swap the tram ride for something else to do! The kids were very disappointed and I was not about to spend more money on trying to find something else to do there. Overall the trip was very disappointing! And to top it off, all the food in the water park was possibly contaminated with nuts!!! They said that the foods they had all were a risk. My son has peanut and tree nut allergies, I don't understand how a place can have no options! They told me I could try the convenience store for food that may not have nuts. This is a review for the restaurant labeled "Alice's restaurant" located inside the resort. Service extremely poor. Our waiter, Sean, never came back to check on us or refill coffees...the one thing you need at Sunday brunch! Food is over handled and very disjointed in what is presented. Mashed yams next to turkey and noodles, next to minute pieces of some kind of white fish floating in liquid. No BACON, no bagels, breads were never refreshed the hour or so we were seated for brunch, only English muffins were available. Omelet station was the only decent part of presentation/meal. Roast beef was left from how long ago? The deserts are cut into little wedges by the kitchen even the cookies are cut up into small wedges. Why? After eating at brunch, why would the kitchen put the dinners on a calorie restricted desert? A cookie should look like a cookie, a tart should look like like a tart. It is ridiculous that someone in the kitchen has the task of touching and cutting up that poor selection of treats. Make the deserts smaller when baked, not after. I thought after two weeks passing and leaving multiple messages for the manager that I would at least get a call back. Good luck is all I have to say to anyone staying at this hotel. High prices, dirty rooms, rude staff, along with the worst food. Everything is simply over priced and they don't care about the customers feedback. Never experienced such a careless under trained staff for such an expensive so called family resort. The quality of service provided by Taiga Spa is really disappointing. My wife signed up for a manicure and pedicure treatment on 12/23/2015 (sale number: 35206017001) and the quality of service she received was appalling - it seems as the staff member was providing this kind of treatment for the first time. They didn't really know what they're doing. The nail polish looked terrible and it started peeling off right after the treatment. read more

My family of 4 just had an amazing stay at the new Hotel Jay over Spring vacation. We felt like they thought of every detail, especially appreciating the easily accessible ski locker for each room, and the general store for some late night munchies and a souvenir ornament without having to drive anywhere. My 2 boys loved the flowing river in the pump house; couldn't get them to stop going round and round. The Foundry served us a late night meal after the water park and we loved the fancy Fried Chicken and my husband and I agreed that the Bloody Mary was one of the best we've ever had. Access to tram and lifts extremely easy from hotel. Will definitely be back! read more

Bring your flip flops for the water park! La Chute & all the water slides are a lot of fun. Lazy River is well done. Great skiing & beautiful resort! A bit far from Rhode Island (5+ with traffic), but the ski in, ski out options at both the condo we stayed at, and the hotel were really wonderful. Where else in NE do you find a hotel right on the slopes? Our final final night of the 3-day MLK weekend was spent at the Stateside Hotel at Jay Resort, and our accommodations at this new hotel (opened in Dec 2013) at Jay Resort were very good. Modern facility with end-of-slope level locker room for skiis & and other equipment. Also, perfectly located right by the jacuzzi, so pack your swimsuit in your apres ski bag so you don't have to go back upstairs with heavy end-of-day ski legs! Restaurant was a little quiet at Stateside but the food was ok; they need to work on the brunch. Found food at the Foundry & Alice's Table to be better. They definitely need to add a coffee shop at this location of the resort. read more

We had a one bedroom suite overlooking the pump house water park. What a fantastic experience! Room was spacious and very up to date. Would highly recommend it. Everyone loved it and we are looking forward to going again. read more

I want half of my money back. In cash, please. 1. Prices were entirely too high for the experience. 2. Other guests are too noisy and nothing is being done to settle that noise. I was interrupted by extremely loud adults and children, running and YELLING right in front of my room. Staff did not seem to really care. I was awakened in the middle of the night by yelling adults in the hallway. I was awakened early in the morning by more yelling adults and children. 3. Your swim facility is not worth the price, you need more to offer or offer a 10 dollar half day pass. 4. Jay Peak is not worth the price, the lifts are terrible and do not bring guests to varying levels of difficulty. Also, there is not enough information to guide guests to correct locations. 5. Rentals are not worth the price. 6. Staff are rude and uncaring. In the hotels they do not listen or solve your problem, they just shrug it off and quote policy which is legally wrong. On the peak they treat guests as if this were some military drill, instead of being respectful and helpful. 7. Other peak guests are blatantly rude to beginner skiers and snow boarders. You need more mediators to assist beginners (at NO COST). I personally watched several different groups in different time periods yelling at both children and adults for "failing" at trying to learn to ski and snowboard. This is just a rotten atmosphere. I personally had to step up and get verbal with these bullies where as your staff should be doing that and reminding people they will be kicked out promptly for this irrational behavior. 8. Worst peak experience I have seen nationwide. 9. The roads were completely iced over and super unsafe without salt. People were getting stuck and sliding all over the place. This was on the access roads outside and on the resort site. 10. Your resort is just plain careless and lazy. 11. I did read about the troubles with Jay Peak before arriving, but I wanted to give it a fair review. I see why they have so much trouble. read more

We were all set to take a weekday one night getaway on 5/15. Information online said the water park would be closed for maintenance until 5/11, when I checked again the night before our trip the website said the park was closed during the week throughout May. This fact was never communicated to us when we booked the trip, the water park was the whole reason for our getaway. When we called to confirm the park was indeed closed the hotel staffer we spoke to originally said the park wasn't closed. Thankfully he asked someone else and said, "Ohh I guess it is closed." When we asked what else there was to do with young kids at Jay he listed off the climbing wall, ice rink, movie theater and arcade. We were still planning on salvaging our trip but when I went to get more information on these activities online I discovered that all of the things the hotel staffer suggested are all closed during the week. It seems like there are some serious communication issues and the staff is not being properly informed. Needless to say we scrubbed our trip, my advice is to beware of offseason dates or you could be stuck in a hotel room with your kids with nothing to do. read more

Never book the Taiga Spa!!! Got here in a rush to go to the spa during the only time they insisted they had available during our 3 day stay. Upon arrival to the Tiaga spa was told that they didnt have time to do the services we booked well in advance of this trip. The front desk never called with a heads up...but they require a 6 hour notice for me to cancel????? The lady at the desk stared crying when I told her I am upset and very disappointed that I was not given a call with the option to go elsewhere because they could not provide the services booked. The only thing my daughter asked for was a day at the spa together while here and they completely ruined it. Been at this so called "resort" for less than 1 hour and I am awed at the lack of professional staff. The woman actually told me I should not say "this spa is unprofessional and they should be ashamed of the way they handle cancelations" in front of my daughter. WTF? From the swearing house maid in the hall to the rude valet that wasnt happy I wanted to park my own car to the unprofessional spa staff. WOW! read more
