The hotel was nice although there was no room for upgrades. The tv did not have streaming capabilities as we were wishing to watch the Olympics and had a few cable channels. We called the front desk and they were able to come and install a fire stick to the tv so that we could stream from our phones. The hotel was clean and there were two places to eat and a breakfast cafe. The website showed a free breakfast so that was a bit misleading and it seemed that they did have one when they first opened but have since changed. We only stayed one night and it was a good stay just not the resort feel that I was hoping for but still pricey. read more

This hotel has gone down big time. It used to be a lovely getaway with a nice breakfast. Now it is just expensive with no amenities except a "spa". We have stayed at this hotel numerous times. This tIme when we checked in we asked about what time their nice breakfast opens. They said they no longer offer their breakfast but have a small snack bar to "purchase" items. Good heavens, Hampton Inn and other Hotels offer their free breakfast. Truly disappointing. Then to top it off, after we had paid our bill, we received another charge from the hotel. $108.00 to be exact. When we questioned the charge we were told it is their $39.00 per day resort charge. Folks, this isn't a resort Hotel. Not even close. We will NOT be returning to this hotel. In fact we found a hotel that was nicer, less expensive and offered free breakfast and FREE fresh brewed coffee. Try the Comfort Suites in Greenville/Greer. They were so much better and an even better value for your money. DON'T waste your money at this Hotel. read more

It was the perfect setting to relax and enjoy a delicious meal. The rest of the evening was spent in the serenity of my room, soaking in the quiet and comfort. The next morning began with a workout in the well-equipped fitness center, which offered everything I needed--from treadmills and an elliptical to free weights and a stationary bike. Afterward, I took advantage of the hotel's scenic surroundings and went for a three-mile bike ride around the property. The grounds were immaculate, dotted with ponds and graceful geese, and lined with stunning new estate homes under construction. Later that day, I treated myself to a two-hour spa experience at Spa H, which was nothing short of exceptional. The relaxation lounge provided a peaceful space to unwind before my treatments. Eliana, my massage therapist, gave an incredible hot stone and foot scrub massage, perfectly addressing the areas I had mentioned. Following that, Miriam performed my facial--truly the best one I've ever received. Her skill, care, and kind compliments about my skin made the experience even more special. That evening, I dined at The Patterson, where my waiter, Luke, provided outstanding service. He recommended the half chicken with pickled squash, which was absolutely delicious. To top off my birthday celebration, he crafted a custom cocktail with tequila, rosé, and a little extra flair--a thoughtful touch that made the evening unforgettable. After dinner, I returned to my room to enjoy a soothing bath, the perfect end to my relaxing birthday retreat. Overall, Hotel Hartness exceeded every expectation. Two and a half really. Make sure you read the hotel's directions to get to the property - our GPS directed us to a private road that was blocked and didn't give any alternative routes so we had to pull over to find the hotel website and follow its suggested route. It was easy enough after that. The grounds were meticulously groomed, very clean and reminded me of a French country home you might find in a vineyard in Napa, CA. My husband checked us in, and then we drove ever so briefly to the alternative entrance that was closest to the elevators. I was completely shocked and confused when my husband got out and started to schlepp our luggage toward the door. No staff to help? No carts offered? We reluctantly noticed that the heavy double doors had no automatic open. Fine. But where was the handicap button to activate the doors? I'm partially disabled, and sometimes use a wheelchair so I am very cognizant of what kind of access is available anywhere I go. The hallways were spotless and well lit. Upon entering our room, we were a bit disappointed. Lately, everyone in the hotel business seems to be redefining what the word " suite" or jr. suite" can and should mean. Our "holly suite" was nothing more than an oversized room with an extremely spacious bathroom. It was handsomely decorated but sparsely furnished. Oddly, much of the added square footage that came with this room category was left unused and under utilized. There was no sofa, no closet, no shelves in the shower, no hooks adjacent to the shower, and no storage or lined trash receptacle in the separate toilet area. It seemed unhygienic to have a garbage can without a bag. I asked my husband if he received any information about the hotel upon check-in....a map perhaps? Any info on pool use, walking trails, ice, spa, dining? Nope. I had to call the front desk to find out that ice service was not self serve but had to be requested. The original home was used mostly for small intimate public areas. The spa and restaurant were located in other buildings. The sleeping rooms were attached to the house with a hallway of floor to ceiling windows. All was handsomely decorated and exuded a nice atmosphere. The most glaring thing missing on the beautiful grounds, however, was shade - No pergolas, pavilions, umbrellas, gazebos, or even trees. The large pool area could have used some cabanas or other sun shielding tools. Greenville still gets hot in the Spring and Summer and not providing guests with protection from the elements limits the time people can actually enjoy the beautiful surroundings. The photos attached, show both the highs and lows. We noticed too, that the massive bathroom was not " square". Walls and tile were not aligned properly and it was glaringly obvious. Hard to say, if we would come back. The amazing accolades given by others about the hotel's service was not the experience we had. In fact, I think I only saw one staff person during our three night stay. We do give The Hartness management high praise for graciously not charging us for our fourth night. We had to depart early due to illness. Grateful for that gesture. read more

(We ate in the bar area.) Didn't love the fact that they host a lot of parties and that makes this area get NUTS when it's time to eat. I think I'd give feedback that this place needs to find ways to prioritize people staying at their hotel over these events. Serving them is more important. Find a way to fix that at you'll get 5 stars from me. read more

Amends were offered for which we accepted. Nice hotel, but definitely not for the money! The hotel was incredibly hot during our visit. Our room never fully cooled down to the lowest setting of 65. Poor design of the breakfast area so it was cramped and people have to maneuver around each other. Also, not nearly enough seating for guests during busy times. read more

We stayed at the Hotel Hartness on a couples trip to the Masters. There is construction in the area, but we did not hear any loud noises from it. It appears to be an up and coming area. The grounds on the property were pristine with beautiful landscapes. Plenty of outdoor seating to relax. The hotel has a beautiful modern design. Our room was very clean ( nice shower) with an angled view of the pool ( 213) We arrived early and had a couple of drinks and appetizers at the bar (thanks Chris). Spa H is a short walk from the hotel and we had an amazing couples hot stone massage (thanks Hannah and Lawana ). The night before check out we enjoyed a great meal at Pattersons ( nice cocktails, terrific filet, and amazing key lime cheesecake). Good options for breakfast. I had the bagel and coffee. Sweet staff in the breakfast area and coffee was a good quality. Overall this was a wonderful experience and a very nice place for a relaxing couples get away. read more

My best friend (bride) got married at this venue last weekend. She doesn't like to make waves but I have no problem sticking up for her. Firstly, they called her earlier in the week to confirm that 11am on Friday was her check in time. We didn't receive the room keys until 5pm (right as the rehearsal dinner started). Every guest that was staying at the hotel had their rooms by 2pm at the latest. I was shushed by the bellhop (who picked up his cell phone while talking to me) when I asked if the Bride's stuff could be moved from the honeymoon suite to the room she and I were staying in for the night. When I called the front desk during the rehearsal dinner to try and confirm her stuff had been moved, I was hung up on. Then we tried to get a late checkout the day of the wedding. The "director" at the front desk told the bride we couldn't and the bride was in tears. I then went to the front desk to speak to the "director" and she then agreed to give us a late check out and comp the room for the night for the misunderstanding. The bride still hasn't received a refund for the room a week later. My mom went up to the front desk to ask where the bride was getting ready and the "director" had no idea what wedding was taking place that day. I could go on and on but every person on staff we came in contact with (everyone except for one server named Nicole who took great care of the bride and groom) either had no idea what was going on, made false promises to the bride, or what just plain rude. If you are going to pay $60k just to the venue to have the wedding there you'd like to think you'd at least get decent service. And to be a "luxury" hotel that they claim to be, they sure do like treating a Bride as the scum in the hotel. 10/10 would NOT recommend. read more

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights and wish we had more time! There was breakfast every morning which was a little more elevated than continental. You can absolutely tell that the hotel and rooms were brand new and had no expense spared. Everything was solid and very good quality. The lounging rooms with the fireplaces were stunning! I wish we had taken advantage of the spa and restaurant on the premises, but not only was this close to the airport, but a very secluded and enjoyable stay. We will definitely be back next time we are in Greenville read more

AMAZING service!!! Wonderful staff who are very hospitable. I had to take off 2 stars because of a privacy complaint. There is not much privacy in the bathrooms in your room. There are no fans and the door is a thin sliding door. You can hear everything going on in the bathroom like you're in the same room with the person. Also, there is no access to a microwave for guests. Kind of a bummer when you want left overs from eating out. The place is otherwise clean, beautifully decorated, and a nice experience. I probably won't go back though unless they add fans and/or change the bathroom doors. read more

We usually take a direct route down south to the beaches in South Carolina but this time we changed our itinerary spur of the moment heading west to Greenville, SC. Having never been there my beautiful wife did her research and found the PERFECT hotel for our stay! Hotel Hartness is incredible!!! It's minimalist luxurious relaxing and refreshing! The grounds and amenities empty your brain of all the day to day minutia and transform your thoughts to more important matters like what am I going to do next...lounge by the quiet serene pool, or a walk through the endless walking trails, or a bike ride through the countryside, or pampering yourself at the spa, or just relaxing with a book in the quiet sitting areas, or lose yourself in the tranquil perfectly groomed courtyard and terrace listening to the birds, admiring the trees or wondering what fish are in the surrounding ponds! If that's not enough reason to come and stay at Hotel Hartness the staff and everyone involved with this facility are first class exuding hospitality! We were cordially greeted by Karl (a really kind and pleasant man) who directed us to the front desk managed by Lauren, Director of Rooms, and Jackson, Front Office Manager. From the moment we entered it was evident that both Lauren and Jackson were going to make sure every second we spent at Hotel Hartness were going to be SO incredible we would never want to leave...and we didn't...we extended our stay! Our heartfelt thanks to Lauren and Jackson you are TRUE assets to HH and we appreciate your professionalism, kindness, caring and above and beyond hospitality! Our thanks also to Elsa in assisting with extending our stay...it was seamless and went off without a care in the world! As for the rooms...they are SPOTLESS and IMMACULATE! Minimalistic from wall to wall and the bathroom is too! Molton Brown bath products are a treat accent the spa like shower... rain shower and shower wand alike...you could stay in there for hours, but don't because an amazing super comfortable bed with soft welcoming linens await! There's a mini fridge and an in room Illy coffee and espresso machine help you get your days started right! Last but certainly not least are the two amazing restaurants on premises, The Captain located just off the front desk, more of a leisure bar atmosphere. You are in GREAT hands with Jason who has an unbelievable gift for gab and Alex who tempers Jason and is polished and personable. We've been told they are the BEST bartenders in Greenville and even though we don't drink judging from the bar crowd we know that's true! We had dinner at The Captain after our long trip and Chef Elvis' special was mouthwatering delicious... our compliments ...Elvis was definitely in the building! Also on premises across the courtyard is The Patterson Restaurant. A totally different vibe...fine dining at its best! Minimalist carries over from the hotel...total glass and brass with an open kitchen and jam packed bar...make sure to make a reservation ... you will not be sorry! Delmonico and salmon entrees were delectable and prepared to perfection! Our server Kat was terrific! We'll conclude with one of THE MOST incredible people you will ever have the pleasure of meeting! In our minds "the one and ONLY" Belinda. She is your breakfast buffet manager, but SO MUCH MORE. She puts the capital "H" in Hospitality!!! Sweet, kind, caring, professional and SO personable! After one morning with her you'll feel like you've know her for years. Her attention to detail and the enormous PRIDE she has for her profession is unmatched! Belinda is truly ONE OF A KIND and we are SO lucky to have gotten to know her! My husband and I have the wonderful opportunity to stay at the Hotel Hartness while we were visiting Greenville, SC and I have no idea how to condense all the great things to say about this place! To begin with it looks more like a very welcoming resort than a hotel. Before we could even step into the door our bags were scooped up by a very nice guy, Joe, who I enjoyed talking to while my husband was checking in. The entire common areas are so tastefully decorated I felt at home immediately. Our room was perfect with a lovely view of the pond. We had an extremely comfortable bed and it was obvious that the details of the room were well thought out ( they even had this basket with a lid as part of the room decorations that I quickly pulled down to put all my vitamins and meds in ).The hotel is part of a small "town" experience I think Hartness is trying to establish on these 500 acres because they have a section of very charming houses you can rent for a months ( better extended stay option) and plans for shops, stores and more restaurants. They also offer 15 miles of trails through picturesque woods with bikes to borrow. And did I mention the barn and the 100 chickens? Very cute. I saw at least 4 places to stage a wedding. And the finishing touch was the General Manager Albert L. Mertz sent a very thoughtful note and macaroons to our room. Our elegant dinner at Patterson's was delicious and even with a large table of friends it was easy to hear conversation. And thank you Michael Bonasia for making sure everything for our stay was perfect. We will definitely return here on our next trip to Greenville. read more
