Stayed here for two nights on an impromptu weekend trip to Gettysburg. I had a gift certificate that I have been meaning to use - and since my original plans changed, and upon checking saw they had vacancy- I decided to knock it off the list. Located on the town circle - the location is really convenient. Staying here you are less than a mile to anything in town: battlefield, downtown small shops, and the restaurants in town as well. I didn't use my car the entire weekend being here. As the 0.6mi walk was nothing. In terms of parking - it is $18 a day and only thru an online app. Seems steep to most but as a frequent traveler where I have paid $30-50 a night this was nothing. The room was very nice and spacious. The bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was nice and updated with glass shower stall and clean white tile. Hotel also has a fitness center in the basement, and a restaurant on the first floor. The food there is respectable, but not the best. Overall above average. Would recommend.

Great location that offered views over the town circle. Lots of amenities offered except for things we expected to be standard, a microwave and refrigerator. The gas fireplace was a nice addition! Parking garage is conveniently located directly behind the hotel, paying for each day made it easy to come and go. Our room had a wet stain and black mold on the ceiling but once reported the staff addressed it quickly. The staff was very friendly.

Convenient, looks nice BUT really mediocre logistics/ housekeeping services. We had to deal w dirty linens, and the housekeeper getting upset because we needed shampoo. We originally asked to get 2 rooms for our family of 4, but they didnt want us to have a room for our 2 boys separate from us, so they recommended a suite w 2 queens and a sofabed. The sofabed came w a little bag in the closet of linens. The linens were clearly soiled- someone had dripped pink and green food stains on the flat sheet and pillowcase. There was no zip tie on the plastic bag of linens, which is how most hotels track when that extra bag gets used. We had to call for it to be replaced which went fine. The following night upon returning back from a long day, my son discovered that the shampoo container was empty. The front desk clerk, at 9pm on a midweek night, answered saying that the shampoo could only be refilled by the housekeepers, who are off service at 9, so we'd have to wait til morning for shampoo. I asked if they had additional bottles, even extra that they could squirt into a cup? None of us had showered yet, no one wanted to wait til tomorrow morning to shower after a long hot day trekking around Gettysburg. The front desk said none of the options were possible, only the housekeepers had access, but they were able to stop her from leaving to come bring us shampoo. She arrived, and was irate. She scolded us, saying she had already clocked out, and they'd forced her back just for us, and she needed access to the shower to use her special key to replace the shampoo bottle. I explained that my son was in the shower, which was how we found out the bottle was empty. She became frustrated, insisting she needed access to the shower or no shampoo. Finally my husband convinced her to just leave the shampoo bottle there, promising we would leave both in the bathroom. Now, I can sympathize with her being asked to do this extra task after her hours. But that's not necessarily my fault, that's a logistical problem their hotel management should have a plan for. Either the hotel must be much more careful about checking shampoo levels every day, or they should have backup supplies. Their poor choice to recall her for unpaid over time sucks, but that should be taken up w their managers, not vented out on me. Sigh. I would also recommend guests to know that the starbucks right next door serves a faster, cheaper breakfast than the attached restaurant which is a nicer, slow, pricey restaurant. 2 stars for excellent location, board games in the foyer, free wifi, and nice curb appeal. But I'd definitely recommend splurging on 2 rooms rather than using the sofa bed, and check the shampoo/soap dispenser levels before 9pm!

KUDOS and thanks to the wonderful staff for providing supreme quality customer service here in Gettysburg, PA! I ordered the Maryland Crab Dip and One Lincoln Crab Mac and Cheese, and it was delicious! I came with Wounded Warrior Project for my first Project ODYSSEY! I highly recommend all to come and visit to support this local business!

Wifey and I stayed here recently when she was back for an alumni event at the college. I love old hotels like this. No, they don't have all the amenities that fancy new hires may have, but they always make up for it in what they DO have. The service here at the Gettysburg Hotel was great and the room was fantastic. Comfortable bed, great pillows, and the AC worked just fine during a heat wave. The rooms also had nice big bathrooms with great water pressure. They also gave us a discounted rate because we were there for an alumni events. It wasn't cheap, but the discount certainly helped! There are lots of local places to eat, but the bar and restaurant right in the hotel are worth trying. Bartenders and wait staff were great and we had a great lunch here. With easy parking, great service and great rooms I give this place high marks and I'd love to stay here again.

Beautiful room, accommodating staff and a prime location. My only wish would be that there was a breakfast included.

Nice hotel - pleasant staff. Get new bedding - the sheets were very scratchy and the pillows were like a bag of old cotton balls.

In the heart of downtown Gettysburg. Our room was clean and had plenty of room. Great views to the north. In the middle of good restaurants.

Michael, the owner, is one of the friendliest people you will ever meet, as is the staff on site. The room was perfect and so comfortable! If you're planning a trip to Gettysburg, I highly recommend staying at the Gaslight Inn. I promise, you will not be disappointed!

I was flying solo, so I stayed in the smallest (cheapest) room - Violet Room - and it was nice if not huge. Bed, bath, etc., were really nice. Room does have TV and wi-fi, but I was "on vacation" and did not use them that much. Mornings I went down, grabbed coffee, and sat out on the 2nd floor balcony reading and enjoying the view of the yard. Weather was great this visit, and this was hard to beat! The public spaces in the inn were plentiful on both 1st and 2nd floors, and I felt very comfortable. Gaslight's location is in the heart of Gettysburg, and everything but the battlefield itself is an easy walk. That included places to eat and get ice cream. I preferred this to being farther out, driving around, finding parking, etc. Hosts - Mike and Jennifer - were great, friendly, answered all questions, and helped with anything I wanted. If you are looking for a 9-room B&B experience with other nice people, want to enjoy the heart of the town of Gettysburg, and do not need a mega-hotel, the Gaslight Inn should be high on your list.

A Review of the Brickhouse Inn, Gettysburg, Pennsylvania (in the Style of 1870)…read more During my recent sojourn with my wife to the historic town of Gettysburg, we had occasion to lodge at the esteemed Brickhouse Inn, a house of most commendable character. The establishment itself is of handsome construction, its brick walls bearing the quiet dignity of years well kept. The chambers are appointed with tasteful elegance, and though we have, in our travels, rested upon beds of somewhat greater softness, the comfort of the accommodations was by no means wanting. Yet it was at the breakfast table that the Inn's true excellence shone forth. The morning repast, prepared with notable skill by Mistress Patty and served by Hannah, was of such quality and abundance as to dispel any minor discomforts of the night. Their attentiveness and mastery of the kitchen rendered the meal a delight of the highest order, and I found myself most grateful for her gracious service. In sum, our stay proved exceedingly pleasant, and we departed with a sense of satisfaction and goodwill toward the proprietors. The Brickhouse Inn stands as a worthy refuge for the traveler, offering beauty, hospitality, and a breakfast most splendid indeed

The location is good. The breakfasts were uneven: one outstanding, one pretty awful (a cold Egg McMuffin and cottage cheese?), and one so-so. But perhaps they had a new or temporary cook, because other reviewers did not seem to find this to be the case. We did not find a book in our room with information? Instructions on operating the thermostat would have been helpful, as it got quite cold the third night. Parking is very generous. All in all, we would return, as this was definitely the nicest of the three B&Bs in which I have stayed in Gettysburg.
