My original review was from 2014. This review is based on our stay in November 2018…read more We were excited to go back to this hotel as we really enjoyed our first stay here. This time, the only positive I can give is that the staff members were really nice and there is a great grocery store across the street. Upon check-in, we walked into a packed lobby as there was conference going on. We were greeted by Laura at the front desk, she was friendly and helpful. Laura quickly got us checked in and told us that we could wait for our room in the concierge lounge. The lounge was the same as I remembered, dark, but it had a decent selection of non-alcoholic beverage. The ice situation was not great, just a bucket filled with melting ice that anyone can reach their hands into. And, every night, a group of pilots would sit at the lounge talking for hours, taking up space for other guests that just might want a few minutes to relax. The hotel needs maintenance. The carpets are torn and pieced back together, as is the wallpaper. The room felt dirty, there was mold build up in the bathroom around the sink and tub. At night we wanted to turn on the air, we were told that they turn the AC off for the winter. We opened the sliders which was a huge mistake, none of us were able to sleep between the constant noise of emergency vehicles and the mosquitos! Even though it was winter, we got eaten alive by mosquitos. We decided on the second night to just suffer through the heat. The morning breakfast spread is big with a lot of options, but it is extremely busy. The wait staff members were not friendly or helpful at all. The biggest thing that bothered me is what I will call the smoker's gauntlet. Every time we arrived or left the hotel, we had to walk through the covered area through tons of people smoking, it was absolutely disgusting. I have no idea why this hotel can't find another area and dedicate it to smokers. The location of the hotel is a bit far from tourist stuff, but it is a quick walk to the subway. Marriott needs to take a look at this property and put some money into renovating it.

As of today the city of Milan has gone into panic mode. THe grocery stores are empty, the Duomo canceled our tickets and our trip to Lake Como was also refunded without a problem. ONE exception is this hotel. I have tried to speak to someone regarding our reservation which was booked on Expedia and we were told SORRY! We didn't want a refund but just a credit to book once this virus is better understood and controlled. Well everyone else understood the need to cancel but this hotel didn't see it this way. So we are out 567.00 USD. The virus is spreading like wildfire and it's unfortunate but worst off are establishments like this

Only slightly annoying thing is they have to buzz you into the gate every time you enter, but this is common and they do it for cars and pedestrians alike. other minor things: I couldn't figure out the shower temperature control. The handles were confusing. It stayed only at one temperature, but fortunately that temperature was warm enough. The ventilation system had a fan-only setting but it was a little squeaky. The room could use a lot more hooks to hang things on. Staff were very friendly and helpful and all spoke English, which seems common in hotels here.

What I texted to see how to catch their Shuttle, I was told it only ran a few hours a day. If I needed transport other than during those hours, I would have to take a cab. A cab took me €25 to get there however at four in the morning to get back to the airport it was €50 because the cab that they called for me had to come from another city. What the heck? They also had a laundromat that I tried to use. Although it was free, the machines did not take all the water out of the wash load and it took forever to dry. If I've known that, I would've waited till my next location to do laundry. One of the good things was, we did have dinner there and it was a decent dinner. However, if Shuttle and laundry are important to you, I would not recommend this hotel near Milan Malpensa airport..

I was deciding between the Novotel or the Crowne Plaza and opted for the Crowne Plaza and I slightly regretted my choice. The hotel is not located very close to the airport (it is a about a 10 minute drive). It is also very difficult to find if you decide to drive there (I used a GPS and like some previous reviewers also found it difficult to find). There is a free shuttle to and from the airport but do note that it is note available for early mornings. I was going to use it for my morning flight (had then already returned the rental car by then) but it had not started its service then so I had to grab a cab for €20. Inside the hotel everything is clean but it is apparent that the hotel was built a while back. The furniture is a bit dated and it feels like the hotel has seen better days. The front desk staff were mostly helpful and reasonably service-minded (I am then comparing to what I expect in Italy and not to the level of service I would expect in the US or the UK). I was upgraded upon check-in (not sure why) but I still felt that the room was a bit cramped with furniture. The room had the same feeling that the rest of the hotel - it had probably been very nice when it was built but now everything felt out-dated. The bed was ok not more. I am usually not bothered by noise but I felt that the air-con was very loud as well as the noise from the high-way (doubt that it was proper double-glass windows). It did not prevent my from sleeping well but I could not fall asleep right away. There was a desk where it was possible to sit down and do some work. The Internet was ridiculously overpriced but it functioned well. A mini-bar was in the room and a plus for the coffee and tea-making facilities as well as a complimentary bottle of water. The bathroom was nice and all the standard toiletries where provided and an extra plus for providing mouth wash in a small travel sized bottle. Do avoid eating anything at the hotel. I had the breakfast buffet and the hot food was appalling. The cold food was just plain boring (dry bread, and some strange tasting ham). The coffee was not very good but I have come to expect that from Italian hotels. For dinner I was intending on going somewhere else but it was a bit late for that when I was ready for dinner so I was going to try out the a la carte restaurant but it was of course closed for summer - had to

This hotel's staff - Xenia and Adriano at the front desk, and bar and restaurant personnel - understand what hospitality really looks like. We came to this hotel after a completely messed up day that included rerouted trains and plans redone on the fly, and the staff made it all better, for adults and kids alike. Rooms are a bit small, but we were not there much. Kids slept on bunk beds that need some TLC, otherwise very clean and nice accommodations. Terrific breakfast, too. As a bonus, there is a pedestrian area right around the corner from the hotel with some really nice restaurants, that are so much more authentic and less expensive than the tourist traps! We had a great meal at Ristorante Borsieri 39.

Excellent hotel, location and staff…read more I had to call their reception staff prior to our flight to Milan to advise them we were running late due to airport delays. The person on the phone in perfect and very polite English assured me they won't issue a no-show and will be waiting for us. This was relieving as no one was certain when the plane was about to take off (yes, t'was a low-cost carrier, but that's another story). We arrived at close to midnight time, but still welcomed with a smile. The reception was anything, but big, however, the 2 personnel were efficient and the checking-in did not take much time. The lobby looked fantastic for a 4-star hotel - very clean and spacious. There were complimentary fruits, candy, cookies for guests to enjoy while waiting. We got a room on the 2nd floor. It was relatively small, but we were aware of that prior to arrival (it was a bargain price, so no reason to complain). It had everything needed - clean bathroom, comfortable bed, TV/WiFi, enough room for two suitcases. No view from the window, but that was OK, too. Overall, I'd give the room itself 3.5 Yelp stars. Breakfast the next morning was very rich. Great selection of cheese, bread, salami and Italian specialties, coffee, fruits, yogurt. The hotel's located very close to Milano Centrale train station, and also about 5-10 mins walking distance of the famous Corso Buenos Aires with numerous shops, outlets and gelaterias. Metro stations of two of the lines M1 and M3 are easily reachable (they both go to Duomo cathedral). Stayed there in the end of May, but doubt much has changed since then. Overall, I enjoyed the short stay in this hotel and if I get the chance, would book again.
