They keep this place immaculate and stocked with breakfast goodies. We couldn't get enough of the Italian style moka pot that we just had to purchase and bring home. Coffee never tasted so divine! Location is ideal as La Rotonda and Al Nani are in walking distance, as is Monte Berico. Running path out back is a perfect access point to so many charming points of interest. Surrounding neighborhood has a great market with amazing cheeses and cured meats (I miss my speck!). Also a couple of bars, pastry shop and a spaghettaria just a hop away. Perfect spot for day trips and a place to call home while exploring. UNESCO part is a 20 minute walk away and extremely simple to navigate. Rooms have their separate, private baths and shares a common kitchen area as an apartment. Ours had a great terrace we spent a lot of time having breakfast, or afternoon wine and cheese. Looking forward to returning to Vicenza and using this again as a launch point to more of northern Italy. Applausi per la vita!

There is a market down the road where we purchased cheese, snacks, wine on top of the plentiful breakfast items and coffee, tea, etc. that were stocked by host. Plenty of good places to eat within walking distance. Bob and Jenny could not have been better hosts. We felt at home but even better we felt submerged in Italian culture so close to town in Vicenza. They even have a service for travel to and from train / airport. I can't say enough about our amazing stay. This is a great home base if you are considering travel to Venice, Verona, Florence and Pisa.

We booked a room at Hotel Due Leoni almost last-minute to visit some friends in Sacile and what a great accomodation it proved to be! The hotel furnishings are a bit outdated but this actually adds to its charme. I was very surprised to find a perfectly working vintage green SIP telephone on my nightstand- it was a sweet and nostalgic reminder of my youth. The rooms are very spacious with modern bathrooms and all the necessary amenities. The hotel is conveniently located in the heart of Piazza del Popolo and surrounded by beautiful Venetian-style buildings. An underground parking is available but it does require very skilled drivers to navigate the narrow parking slots. From the underground garage, an elevator takes you directly to the lobby and/or the rooms. The check-in process was fast and smooth with very professional and courteous staff. What really made a difference for us were the highest cleaning standards of the hotel: every surface was sparkling clean with nary a grain of dust to be found, all courtesy of their cleaning lady (I think her name was Elda and she came from Matera?) . Our room had a view on the Livenza River and the church. If you are a light sleeper, I would recommend taking some noise-cancelling buds to protect your ears since the bells of the nearby church ring at every hour- it did not bother us. The breakfast buffet is deliciously scrumptious with plenty of variety. We would gladly stay here again.

We had free breakfast buffet each morning and and there were so many choices, both hot and cold. They even had an omelette station. Everyone was very friendly and the restaurant was beautiful. It's official! My favorite city so far in Italy was Venice! Despite all the horror stories about…read morethe flooding, I was happy to still have the chance to visit this city while I was in Italy. During my recent stay in Venice, I reserved the Hotel Abbazia as it was one of the best locations near the Santa Lucia Railway Station. Literally, the hotel was 700 ft from the station, down an alleyway as I passed several restaurants; you can't beat the convenience and the price! For a budget hotel, this was a simple and decent stay--the room offers a small flat-screen TV, iron board and hairdryer, mini-refrigerator and air conditioner, and a hard ol' mattress queen bed, not the most comfortable bed but it was doable for the time that I spent there. The only thing it didn't offer was a damn elevator; BOO! Good thing for friends because my homegirl and her boyfriend were able to take my heavy ass suitcase up to the second floor or else a sista' would have been struggling! The hallways to the bedrooms were this sexy red lighting that automatically came on when it sensed any movement. I liked it but I sensed that my friends thought it was pretty creepy. The hotel offers a beautiful elegant dining/bar area with a gorgeous chandelier. This is also where free breakfast is served in the morning. I hear breakfast offered an array of different pastries and fruit. If you have time to eat breakfast, I would give it a shot. Make sure you also check out the back-garden seating area. It's perfect for enjoying your breakfast in the morning or coming out to get some fresh air. The staff during the evening was nice, however, I felt that the gentleman became irritated with me as the bedroom door had slammed shut on me as I was walking my friends out of my bedroom, and it just so happened that I had left my keys in the room. Also, just like similar hotels in Italy, the air conditioners turn off after a certain time, making these rooms stuffy. The only option I had was to open the window; UGH. The rooms are quiet, I couldn't hear my neighbors at all. The bathroom was super small, and the showers were not the best. The water temperature only provided cold water; BOO! You can tell the facility is a little outdated and needs some TLC. Within the area alone, there are varies different restaurants. Once you walk out of the hotel, you are right in front of all the activities. You can take a Water Boat to any side of Venice, or you can do what I did and just walk the whole City as its pretty doable to do in 8 hours. There are also bars all throughout the area, making for a great night. If you are looking for more of a convenient hotel near the station and close to many of the landmarks in Venice, I would definitely recommend this hotel if you are staying for less than 2 nights. P.S-If you are planning to leave your luggage at this hotel as you roam the Venice area, please note that this hotel doesn't lock the door to the luggage room. Make sure you take your valuables with you.

ATVO bus takes you to and from Treviso airport. ATVO bus from airport to Venetia-Mestre cost 10€ per person one-way. Train station is "Venezia-Mestre" and takes you to "Venezia S. Lucia" station which is the actual sightseeing gondola riding Venice. The train cost 2.50€ for two adults one-way. HOTEL Staff was nice and friendly. Rooms are clean, modern, and big enough for two people. Not sure if I'd recommend it for a traveling family unless you're comfortable with getting tight and cozy with each other. Breakfast was 6€ a person and did not have to be reserved ahead of time. We opted not to eat breakfast here so I can't comment on that. WIFI is available at no additional cost and without time limit. It runs at a good speed and has only dropped a couple of times for about a minute then quickly returns. Reception/front desk is only available from 0700-2300 which is kind of lame for late arrivals from the airport. They do have an alternate way of checking in after hours, although I'm not too sure about the details. It's down the street from Pizzeria Columbus which is a very good place to eat at, but that's for a different review. Overall, hotel is great and I would recommend and/or return again. I gave this place four stars and not five because reception closes overnight which causes a hassle for late night travelers.

Check-in was effortless and the staff throughout were an absolute pleasure. The lobby is clean and has a nice sized lounge area. The room was nice but the bed had a lot to be desired. The pillows, too. King beds should have king pillows but stacking enough pillows up I made due. Also, as American living in Europe for just 7 months so far, I know that air conditioning is scarce in most places though I've found it available in hotels. Arriving right after Easter, the A/C in the rooms and the hotel wasn't turned on yet. I was provided a fan that seems like it's had better days. On my last 3 days, the A/C was switched on and sleeping was so much better! Breakfast was included but was nothing to celebrate. Fruits, cereals, yogurt, and sliced meats and cheeses. It's free so I'm grateful but you won't be satiated. Lastly, my trip was extended by a few days and I needed to do a bit of laundry. The hotel doesn't have laundry machines but do offer a service albeit expensive. Pros: excellent staff, free breakfast, nice room, good location Cons: A/C may or may not be on, paltry breakfast, no laundry on site. I'd totally stay again for points but if I wanted luxury I'd find somewhere else.

Great Italian coffee. CON: * Gym is available, BUT it is open only from 0700-2300 (11:00pm); minimal equipment - will have to do push-ups, burpies, etc in your room * Typical European room in that there is no clock radio so ensure that you use your phone to wake up in time It is located in a semi-industrial area so it is quiet during the night.
