AC Hotel in Vicenza is a solid choice if you want your Bonvoy points. I was initially going to give 3 stars but figured I'd bump it up give the last few days. Check-in was effortless and the staff throughout were an absolute pleasure. The lobby is clean and has a nice sized lounge area. The room was nice but the bed had a lot to be desired. The pillows, too. King beds should have king pillows but stacking enough pillows up I made due. Also, as American living in Europe for just 7 months so far, I know that air conditioning is scarce in most places though I've found it available in hotels. Arriving right after Easter, the A/C in the rooms and the hotel wasn't turned on yet. I was provided a fan that seems like it's had better days. On my last 3 days, the A/C was switched on and sleeping was so much better! Breakfast was included but was nothing to celebrate. Fruits, cereals, yogurt, and sliced meats and cheeses. It's free so I'm grateful but you won't be satiated. Lastly, my trip was extended by a few days and I needed to do a bit of laundry. The hotel doesn't have laundry machines but do offer a service albeit expensive. Pros: excellent staff, free breakfast, nice room, good location Cons: A/C may or may not be on, paltry breakfast, no laundry on site. I'd totally stay again for points but if I wanted luxury I'd find somewhere else. read more

In Vicenza for work and the AC Marriott was a brand with a familiarity that was refreshing after a long day of travels from the states. The hotel was modern, room comfortable and amenities great. Just remember, it meets European standards, not US so there is no alarm/clock, and European outlets (so you will need to have adapters). PRO: * Known Marriott quality, comfortable * Good breakfast available in the morning - typical European fare with cold cuts, cheese, bread, and several American style items (scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages). Great Italian coffee. CON: * Gym is available, BUT it is open only from 0700-2300 (11:00pm); minimal equipment - will have to do push-ups, burpies, etc in your room * Typical European room in that there is no clock radio so ensure that you use your phone to wake up in time It is located in a semi-industrial area so it is quiet during the night. I was on the military posts during the day so do not know what is around the area. If visiting Vicenza, AC Marriott is a known quality property to stay with comfortable rooms and accommodations. read more

The front desk staffer Nicola was rude and lied that the hotle didn't have the room available which I selected online. When I said the site let me make the reservation for the king size bed so I dont understand why he was telling me it was not available But after a while back and forth he said the hotel did have the room available. This negative attitude spoiled the atmosphere and the rest of the evening mood was a damp one. read more

I recently stayed at this hotel for about 4 days or so. This was my first time in Venice. The hotel is very new and modern. Also it was very quiet which was great. I didn't see other rooms while there, but my room was on the small side. I had a queen size bed which was fine. The bathroom is modern and the rain shower shower head was wonderful. Breakfast was fine. The hotel is very easy to get to from the airport. Take a bus to Piazzale Roma, which is where the bus park is. The hotel is right there, next to a large parking garage. No need to walk all over the place in a new city with your luggage. To me personally, I liked the location. It's true it's not near any major sites, but it's wonderful just walking around exploring the santa croce neighborhood. I found several wonderful restaurants near by, Osteria La Lanterna da Gas was one of them. Definitely get out of hotel, and cross a few bridges and explore. Be prepared to get lost. Also it felt very very safe walking around at night. The hotel is located right near a major ferry/Vaporetto stop, which I highly recommend using. Buy a one or two-day pass. And definitely take the #1 to see the grand canal, it's a local. Lots of stops. Make sure you buy your tickets and get them stamped before getting on a ferry. From time to time the police do check to make sure you have a ticket and its stamped. Also near by is the train station which is also a Vaporetto stop. From there definitely explore the Cannaregio and Jewish ghetto neighborhoods. Also I found a place in the train station with great croissants in case your breakfast isn't included at the hotel. If you're seeking convenience, and not wanting to walk around trying to find your hotel with luggage, this is a great spot. Also the bus to return to the airport is right there too. I saw so many people walking around with their luggage trying to find their hotels and have to get and on and off of the ferry with their luggage. Clean, fairly swish and modern hotel. You get chocolates in your room too! (My wife and son polished them off in moments.) Downside: It's in a soulless out-of-town retail/industrial area. Upside: plenty of free parking. Food is expensive, as is to be expected in a hotel, SO what you do is go to the Rosa Rossa which is 100 yards away from the hotel. This is a bar which is open from 6am to 11pm, does breakfast lunch and dinner for much more reasonable prices. Run by a very nice lady. read more

I stayed here on business for 11 nights and had a wonderful experience. The staff is very friendly and helpful from the restaurant staff to the front desk. They were especially useful in providing restaurant recommendations, directions, airport transfers, etc. the rooms are clean and spacious. Some even have large king size beds. The breakfast is included in your room rate and was perfect. Coffee, bottled water, juice, brioche, eggs, meats, cheeses, fresh fruits, breads, etc. For coffee you can use the machine for espresso, cappuccinos, etc or order from the staff at no additional charge. There are also a few items you can order off the menu for an additional price such as omelettes. There is also a small fitness center on the 5th floor (hours 7am - 11pm) with a wonderful view of the surrounding mountains. They have a treadmill, two stationary bikes and some free weights along with water and towels. There are a few restaurants nearby the hotel plus the downtown pedestrian area is only a 10 minute drive. It is best to have a vehicle when staying here because it is located in an industrial area with not much around it but the hotel restaurant is also open for dinner nightly beginning at 7:30pm. If you are a Marriott rewards member you also receive free premium internet in your room. It is a great hotel if you're in the area for business. read more

Room was super clean and quiet. Everyone was very helpful. The only draw back is the location. Ugh. This place is not centrally located. You've got to rent a car or take a taxi. You can't cross the street to go to a restaurant because there's no cross walk or light so without a car, you're basically stuck. But, hey. I would be stuck in Italy any day. We made it work and we ate at the restaurant next store. read more
