Rooms: The first time, we stayed in the orange room which was the largest of the 3 (if you don't count the green room loft). It has a lovely view full of greenery and private access to the large, common terrace. The second time, we stayed in the yellow room which was a bit smaller but still lovely, and had better wifi connection lol Breakfast: Breakfast included a wide array of food and drinks and treats, including fruit (most of it was homegrown), pastries (d-e-l-i-c-i-o-u-s, so much so that we asked where they were from and bought some more lol), juices, homemade jams, etc. Host: Ulla was so nice and sweet. She also made an effort to learn our preferences and was quick to offer them the following day(s), such as cappuccinos in the morning, etc. While there (lol), I learned my new favourite pastry is croissant with hazelnut spread filling, which she put aside for me on one of the mornings to make sure there was still some left as the other guests had their fill. I don't come to this region often when it's not winter holidays (apparently La Mugletta is closed during that time), but I would definitely like to come stay here again the next time I'm around in non-wintertime ;)

The renovated historic farmyard is hold in a sleek and modern but still cozy design. The rooms (double and triple rooms) are spacious, clean, and all have beautiful wooden ceilings and come with modern bathrooms. The property contains a beautiful garden where you can enjoy a bottle of wine or just back out to read a book. Restaurants are available in a 5-mile/ 8km radius. Moreover Soave is a great location for daily excursions to Verona, Venice, Lake Garda and other places of interest in the vicinity. + Service/Host Christian the innkeeper is attentive and friendly. He is forthcoming and tries to make your stay as nice as possible. He is a wine enthusiast and loves to give recommendations for wine tasting and daily activities. In contrary to a typical Italian breakfast that contains of dry cookies or croissants and coffee you get fresh breakfast rolls or bread (on Sundays), cold meat, cheese, juice, yoghurt, fresh fruits, jam, nutella, cereals, homemade cakes (awesome), and different choices of excellent coffee at the Antica Corte! Overall the Antica Corte is a lovely retreat off the beaten path and comes with an affordable price tag of around EUR 80 per night, incl. breakfast! The gentlemen at the restaurant recognized us after just eating there once and was quick to wait on us and the food was amazing! Room was decently sized. The only thing that wasn't amazing was the gym. The gym was a room that was being used as a gym. It had a room of treadmills, one room of weights, and a sauna. You have to ask the front desk for the key to the gym. Overall, I recommend staying here and driving to Venice instead of trying to stay in the city.

I had read the wonderful reviews there about Filippo and his family and their incredible hospitality. Prior to our visit, when we were still in Venice, Filippo reached out on "What's App" to let us know that he would pick us up at the train station in Padua (Padova). We really were appreciative, because it's always hard with our large suitcases to walk long distances. Filippo told us exactly where to meet him and he showed up at the train station right away. We stayed in "the annex" apartment, which was just around the corner from the main house where the breakfast was served. Filippo gave us a tour of the apartment and also provided his own personal written walking tour of Padua, which we used the next day to explore the town. Padua is definitely worth a visit. There was so much to see! The apartment was spacious and very clean. Smoking is not allowed in the apartment, so it was delightfully smoke-free. Filippo gave us several restaurant recommendations within walking distance. We ate at a nearby pizza restaurant, which was fantastic. The neighborhood that the apartment and bed and breakfast are in is very quiet and serene. There is even a friendly cat named Buffino that you can visit with outside at the apartment complex. The breakfast was one of the best that we had in Italy. Everything was homemade by Filippo's family members. There were pastries, coffee, juices, and hot items such as eggs. On the last day, Filippo was nice enough to hold our luggage while we explored the town and also drove us back to the train station. Wow! So nice! We definitely would like to stay at Casa Camilla again in the future.

La Magnolia is one of the first B&Bs in Verona. It is not too far from the train station. From the…read morestation, it is a little difficult to find, however once you pass the major roads there are actually brown signs directing you to it. It is located in a neighborhood. When you book, the owner asks to tell her when you are to arrive so that she can be present to let you in the locked gates-she lives at a different location. Martina is sweet and knows a little English, Spanish, and French. Her daughter helps her run the business and understands more English. Martina's daughter checked us in and she was wonderful- she gave us a map and circled all the best places to go in Verona- it really did help. We had a private room and private bathroom. At first the shower temperature was freezing but we let them know and they raised the temperature (they had lowered it for children staying there). The air conditioning worked well and there is a tv. There is a bidet in the bathroom and the shower has a rain shower in it! Martina provides you with two towels and two hand towels every day. We were also given small travel sized shampoo and conditioner. There is body wash located in the shower as well. Breakfast was a perfect time to talk to Martina and the other guests. She really does care about you and makes sure that you have enough to eat and are happy. Food includes meat, bread, Nutella, croissants and coffee. Downsides, the outdoor seating looks better in pictures. The WiFi is VERY spotty- be prepared to use your cellular data. Verona also offers free WiFi at certain areas and that didn't even work. The train tracks are also located RIGHT behind the B&B so if you are a light sleeper this is not the place for you. The trains move constantly and every now and then when they stop they sound like someone screaming. I really did enjoy my stay here though it was on the expensive side and I always felt safe walking back after dark.

I came here with my…read moregirlfriend, and she likes to walk, which is good because it is pretty far from.... everything. 10-15 minutes walking from the train station isn't too bad, but 25 minutes to the center of town gets a bit annoying. Other than that, it is right next to the train tracks, so they keep you up all night. Air conditioning did work, but the wifi didn't. My girlfriend took a cold shower, and couldn't figure out how to get heat. Turns out, they "turned the hot water off because there was kids staying there before us".... ummmm, ok? I guess? Not really a great reassurance, but whatever. The owner seemed very friendly, although she spoke veryyyyyyy little English. The daughter was great as well, and spoke more English. Apparently that is a thing (helpful tip incoming): older generations speak Italian, and then also are taught other languages like French and German or Spanish, while younger generations are taught Italian and English. And breakfast was included, small breakfast.... kitchen pastries and coffee, some cereal. All in all, a good experience, but bad location.
