We payed a bot extra for a room with a view and it is very much worth it (see my picture). The staff was very friendly and even remembered me by name, I never had that before at a hotel. The hotel has a ton of mismatched furniture and nic nacs which I think are a cool addition. The place shows it's age a bit but for the most part it it fine. It's nice and clean and has a decent free Internet connection. The only part that is not the greatest about this hotel is that it is not right in the center. It is about a 10 minute walk into the canter which is not bad when you get to walk along the lake with amazing views the whole way there.

The bride and groom stayed in the 2bd/2ba Villa. The views and the entire space was beautiful. The entire property is extremely well maintained with impeccable attention to every detail. I cannot say enough about the overall wonderful experience we had at Villa Flori. If I could give then 10 stars I certainly would! I was very happy with the room and wish we had more time to spend there. There were some chocolates and jellies waiting for us in the room when we checked in which were delightful! The location of the hotel is very conveniently located with a quick walk to the downtown Lugano area with lots of shops and restaurants. We had breakfast included which was buffet style. The first morning we got there early and had a spot outside to enjoy the view. The breakfast itself was just okay. The second day our group was leaving early so they had arranged for an earlier opening for breakfast but when we got there they were still setting up and did not have all the options available. All said, I would consider staying there again if ever back in the area. I understand there are two parts of the hotel and have heard negative things about the other part so would want to make sure I was in a similar lake facing room in the main hotel building.

Upon arrival we were told that the men needed to be wearing jackets. I wish that our hotel had told us because my husband had packed one, but luckily the restaurant keeps spare jackets on site for just this situation. The large dining room is incredibly old school with beautiful brass dining chairs laden in blue and yellow striped fabric. When they brought out the wine list I thought it was a joke because it was the size of a dictionary! For dinner I had the beet tartare and the veal filet. The soy marinated tofu was a little bit of an odd flavor combined the beet dish but besides that it was quite good. My husband started with the gnocchi and it may have been the best dish of the night, it was dynamite. In my opinion, my veal filet was better than my husbands beef filet and I also really enjoyed the petite eggplant parmigiana that came with it. Soufflé and ice creams for dessert were a big hit, but I was especially pleased because I asked if they had some dark chocolates off menu and they brought me out a beautiful assortment that tasted as good as they looked. Great restaurant if you are looking for an elegant evening out on the town or an excuse to use the dinner jacket that you packed but thought you wouldn't need.
