Looooved my stay at Hotel Eurogarden. My one night stay cost me less than $20 USD even with the 4 Euros I had to pay for taxes whilst checking out. I've gotta thank Expedia for the $50 voucher I applied to my one night stay here, but even without the voucher, the night would've cost me $68 USD max.
I arrived in Rome on a sunny Tuesday around 1:30PM and was only staying for one night before driving up to Tuscany the following day. All I needed was a decent place to sleep, near the A-1 route, with free parking for my rented car, and easily accessible to the Rome city centre. Hotel Eurogarden did all that plus a little more. The villa/hotel was around a 20 min drive from FCO airport. The checkin process was quick and easy, and my room was brightly lit, huge, and clean! Only thing that was glitchy was the initial process of signing into their free wifi system. It took a good 15 minutes to fix, but soon after, I had wifi in every corner of the property.
Public transportation into the center of Rome wasn't bad either. There's a kiosk across the street from the bus stop that sells tickets for 2/2.50 euros I believe, and they're only one block from the hotel. The bus then drops you off at the metro where you have to take a train. All sounds like a hassle, but if lucky like I was, it would only take half an hour to get into the heart of Rome.
After my one day of exploring, followed by a good nights sleep in Rome - it was time to wake up, get some continental breakfast that's already incorporated in the room price, and check out. The breakfast didn't have a lot of options like a bigger hotel would have, but was enough to fill me up and satisfy my taste buds. I wasn't one of those unlucky people who booked a cheap room that stated continental breakfast, and ended up getting a stale croissant in a bag, so yeah, all was good. read more
