Found this spot on Trip Advisor and would like to share it with my fellow Yelpers. We were looking for our hotel which was walking distance from the train station but had a hard time finding it due to lack of street signs. Don't try finding this place at night unless you know where you're going. My boyfriend and I walked around for quite a bit with no luck so we walked back to the train station and were able to get a cab to take us there. Again, it's hard to find at night so cab it instead. Our room was cozy and we were able to sleep well. There was no blow dryer, so make sure to bring your own and an adapter. Unfortunately, I blew out my hair straightener which left me without one for about 3 weeks while traveling throughout Europe (but that's a different story) ha! Just make sure your straightener has dual voltage and you'll be fine. Make sure to have Euros. When we paid, the preferred method of payment was in cash. The owner Rosanna was very sweet and asked how our stay was. Very hospitable. She even offered us something to eat before we headed out. We had to leave to catch our ship, but thanked her for her hospitality.

This hotel is walkable to the shopping, food and port. The room has a small sink and refrigerator. Johnny was my translator. He was extremely helpful. The price is very modest.

As the group was a student group we got a special deal where we were just served a multiple course meal every night. The food was always spectacular. No matter what was served I was a big fan. I also ordered off of the menu several times, just for kicks and once again there was nothing that disappointed. My favorite (if its possible to choose one) had to be the crab ravioli. Good lord was it good. Best ravioli I've ever had, hands down. The people who work at the restaurant and hotel were all incredibly nice. They would joke around with us and just made us all feel that we were really at home. I was so sad to leave Villa Maria in this beautiful little town. I know that I have to go back. It would be worth it just for the crab ravioli.

As we ordered we inquired about renting a car and our server didn't just give us info, he went in the back and made phone calls. He regrettably told us there was itching available. When we asked if a cab could be called after our meal he shook his head and told us we should not waste our money. Directly across the street was the bus stop that let off directly at the Lake, it came round every 30minutes and cost no more than a pound. He was above and beyond helpful to the lost Americans. Now the food, lol. Fantastic. First we were brought a complimentary starter of fresh bruschetta. I'm not normally a fan because I don't really like tomatoes but this changed me. It was also served with no cheese and a side of beans, which was new to me. But it was the best I'd ever had. The tomatoes were so fresh it was eating fresh juicy fruit on a warm toasty bread in light but also fresh olive oil. For the main course He had a mushroom fettuccine and I had a seafood pasta. Literally the nicest room I've ever had in a European hotel. Huge bathroom with counter space. Opened onto a shared lounge that was GINORMOUS. Small set of steps up, then elevator. Hot water maker, Nescafé, and fridge in room. A/C (wall unit, but totally adequate). Great location just a block or so from the town square. We walked to the Pazzo S. Patrizio, funicolare, Duomo di Orvieto. I just have nothing bad to say about this place. The best part was the service though. Outstanding. Jude is the man!
