They provided us with info on transportation routes , recommended a great Hop on and hop off bus and were very patient. Deducted two stars for the hotel .The hotel however isn't in the best condition. Our room smelt like dust and mildew , the double room had two double beds pushed together . One of Them had a spring popping out and was uncomfortable To sleep on . The room is sorta small and felt Cramped for two adults. The bathroom is ok the plumbing made noises for several hours after use so we had to keep the door closed . Deducted one more stAr for location .The location is far from downtown sorta inconvenient Too far to walk so An ATAC bus ticket (would purchase before arriving;get a multiple day one for tram+bus) would be useful to get around. I wouldn't recommend this hotel if you're looking to be centrally located next to the shops and restaurants.

It's a cute, quaint little hotel, it is a little outside the city center and the 360 bus is slow, but if you are on a budget it's perfect. It is true the elevator is small and the rooms are basic but for the price I think it's fair and people need to realize the buildings in Europe, especially Rome, are old and it's a part of the charm. We thought the outside dining area was such a gorgeous environment and food is good. Free WiFi, I never had any issues. Our room even had a little balcony and that just made our trip even better. Will be back here!

The hotel looks much like the other buildings in the area, large homes in pastel colors that have an air of faded glamor. The entrance is pretty well done and there are two lovely terraces where you can sip your Spritz listening to the birds chirp while surfing the web on the free Wifi connection. The rooms are less charming, but are functional and spacious. I would have preferred a less springy bed and a full-length mirror, but all in all it was a really convenient, tranquil stay in a super authentic part of town. I didn't take the bus into the center since I was being escorted around by a local (thanks Valeria I) but I hear that it's pretty conveniently located.

I remember my stay here like it was yesterday. I had the pleasure of staying at this hotel for 10…read moredays in the spring of 2010. The staff was so wonderful to us. I even called a few times from the states to them to ensure we had service from the airport and just general questions. They were more then happy to assist with all of our questions and make sure we had transportation arranged. We arrived on a saturday afternoon and were greeted with a smile and a warm welcome. We were promplty filled in on what was happening the next day and that we may want to avoid the city. The Rome marathon was the next day. We were impressed with the size of the room and bathroom. It was quite large and nicely furnished with a king size bed, large desk and dresser area some nice wing back chairs and plenty of light from a large window . Down stairs in the basement was the breakfast room, which every morning was filled with all sorts of interesting people and quiet an extensive breakfast. This was included in our room rate. A nice spread of fresh juices, cereals, coffee, tea, pasteries and of course Ham and Cheese. We were very close to many things and got to see normal life in Italy rather then everything touristy. It's about a 15 min bus ride to downtown Rome, but in such a nice area itself. It is situated up on a hill so to get to all the things around it, you take a rather large flight of stairs. The front desk staff was also very helpful when asked about things for day trips and what bus to take and other things we had no idea where to even begin to figure out. If I ever return as I hope to, I will certainly make it a point to stay here again.

The company sent a 10-passenger van instead of a sedan. A taxi would have been more comfortable, a shorter walk from the terminal, and half the price. When I complained to the hotel, they said the van was the same price as a Mercedes sedan so I would be charged the same. This seemed like a bait and switch to me. Had I known the vehicle would be a van, I would have taken a taxi.

The clouds in the Sistine Chapel are not as soft. With a flick of a switch, blackout shades plunge you into darkness. And, in my room at least, the wall could be yanked from its daytime resting place to form a soundproof barrier, protecting you from the possibility of a footfall interrupting your perfect slumber. The views of Rome, from high on your hilltop could certainly be labeled High Renaissance art. The food, facilities, gym, artwork on the walls - there were literally masterpieces decorating the common spaces - everything was a variety of opulence and perfection that I had never before seem, combined into a single ensemble of luxury. Now, my confession: I stayed an extravagant 5 days at the Rome Cavalieri, but it was my employer who footed the bill. The price point was beyond my means at over 700 Euros per night. But, without question, the product was worth the cost. The price of the views also resulted in a bit of an effort to reach the actual city of Rome. We walked on several occasions, but, if you're your own benefactor, a taxi should not break the budget. We shared the lobby and grounds with famous Footballers and the current reigning tennis world champion. However, in those lavish halls and fluffy beds, I gained new motivation to level up, be my own benefactor, and return to the Rome Cavalieri with a reservation under my own name.
