Great and welcoming place to stay. Inviting and clean decor but the most impressive part was Chris, the valet and Carmen at the font desk. Chris cleaned up a wet spill from a snack bag that we had forgotten about in our back seat and Carmen made sure the wet snack bag was safely in a plastic bag and put back in our trunk! Great people who care about people! Such an unexpected joy of our stay. Check out is at noon, which was perfect for us to get over to Taylor mountain and take a hike and still have time to shower. The square in front of the hotel is often active and you can hear what's happening there so if you're a light sleeper you may want earplugs . I realized I had forgotten my wallet and although I had prepaid for the room, I did not have a credit card for the incidentals, nor my ID. In my first call to the hotel when I recognize this, the woman I spoke with, Sherin, was incredibly rude and unwavering and had no compassion for my issue. Basically leaving me and my dog stranded without a hotel room for the night because I couldn't provide an actual piece of plastic. After a frantic trip to the bank to try and get card, to no avail, I called the hotel back and got a different manager. Her name was Lisa and she was exceptional. Very understanding and accommodating and willing to work with me to make a really bad situation better...which she did. She was kind, considerate, and willing to find a way to make it work. Love that I got to stay in an old court house but thats about it for character. I prefer interior design more in line with the architecture. Yes its modern inside but beyond parts of bathroom somewhat generic. UGH, plus the towels were coarse, not even soft. No bueno. Noisy outside in downtown location at all "sleep hours". read more

Hotel E staff were friendly, casual, efficient, and considerate. This charming little hotel has so many thoughtful luxury appointments included that you'll think you're a VIP. The urban chic decor and neutral color palette was calming but not at all lifeless or boring. Bedding was delightfully soft and comfortable. The central location is a perfect "base" for foodies and wine lovers. Within two blocks you will find just about any type of cuisine you're looking for, many of them family businesses that have been there for decades serving food made with love and pride. I could go on for pages about all the Pro's of staying there, just do it. The Con's are: Parking - research the options thoroughly if you are bringing your car. The breakfast - offering was mediocre but with so many great options right outside, why eat there anyway? Good for grabbing a snack and coffee as your headed out the door. I could write paragraphs on the delightful details of Hotel E and what a treat it was for me to stay there. And even more on this location in general with all it has to offer. In town for work this week and when reservations were made for me, Hotel E was their choice. My work is literally right across the parking lot which is awesome! Super cute boutique hotel. It's almost new, just recently opening. Mine is a corner room so I have a view out the front of the courthouse park and little downtown businesses on the side street. Comfy bed and pillows. Small room, but very nicely appointed. Big bathroom with double sinks and a good size shower. Every single employee I have encountered has been super friendly. Valet parking, so no worries in that area. I saw doggie beds in the lobby area, so pet friendly they are! The only drawback I've encountered....there's a club across the street; and the band played on and on and on. Then when it finally quieted down outside, along came the street sweeper. It was still dark out! Hopefully the streets aren't cleaned every night! We'll see how it goes tonight. read more

What a great place! I stayed here on a Friday night before an Ironman race during their soft opening. The location is perfect, right in the town square. It's in a beautifully remodeled building from the 1920s. So much charm. Because of the parking restrictions and street closures due to the race they had a great valet parking plan. They treated me so well; I needed a place to keep my bag and car during the race and they took care of my needs for me even beyond my checkout time. Joel and Danny went above and beyond. I was very pleased with the room also. It was beautiful, more like a home than a hotel room. I highly recommend this place. I booked this place before they had any help reviews and did not know what to expect... I am happy to be their first! Keep it up the kindness guys, that's what matters the most. read more

I had such a nice respite stay there. The king room is sparkling new and clean. Ingrid who greets you later in the day (and who offers wines by the glass in the lobby) is a doll! Only two suggestions: regarding the bar, there should be more than one Chardonnay, and the snacks should be freshly made (brought in?): not chips or nuts. The area has lots of dining choices within easy walking distance. All in all, a very pleasant place to stay. read more

My partner and I passed through Santa Rosa on our way to Oregon and we loved Hotel E! The location is amazing (even though we came through when everything was still closed due to covid) The proximity to restaurants, shopping and the town square/park are 2nd to none! The room was sooo cute, new modern and cozy, smaller then most hotel rooms but still just enough we even did an impromptu photoshoot in the room cause it was so cute! The rooms have a small fridge, large flat screen, wardrobe and a tablet for all the local eateries and places to visit, including local wineries. There is a bar and lounge area downstairs which was a nice touch to sit have enjoy a glass of wine and over look the downtown area. We definitely look forward to going back! Was expecting great things, based on the yelp reviews. First time in Santa Rosa. Came in late from a football tournament in Rio, so didn't get to check out the city much. Seems like SF prices. Modern interior, one person checking in, sitting at the large communal table on his phone. Wasn't sure if he worked here or not, but since there was no one else, braved it and walked up to him. High tech check-in w/ no 'desk' area, so to speak. Room was a nice corner room. Found some pubic hairs in the bathroom, which always ticks me off when you pay close to $300 for a hotel room. But, life is life, and these are first world problems. Nice luxury robes, and bathroom was large. Breakfast was interesting. Same area downstairs was changed into a breakfast area. It was really pretty and Joanna Gaines-ish looking w/ galvanized serving platters. Muffins, yogurt, tea, coffee. Wouldn't call it a hot breakfast, but it was enough to fill up on to start the day. Was surprised at the number of homeless people around the area. Would have liked to have had to explore the area more, but had to leave early for another football game. Booked this hotel for a wedding we were attending near the Kenwood area. The staff was fantastic! The wedding started at 4pm on a Saturday, so I called to ask for early check in so we could get changed and head to the venue on time. This Hotel opened about 3 months ago if i'm not mistaken. I can say it has its pros and cons and in which i find normal especially from a new hotel. I'm sure they are working towards fixing and improving here and there. First impression was great! receptionists were friendly and very informative, we arrived 30 mins early hoping to have a room for an early check in but there weren't any available for the housekeepers were still changing the covers and replacing the towels in each room. Knowing that they take their time to do that puts me at ease. I have this horror fear of laying in dirty or unchanged sheets from previous guests. (I believe it happens somewhere in the world) especially the big hotels i feel like they often rush that kind of shiiit but its a serious health hazard! Love that they have robes! I'm like obsessed with robes when i spend the night at hotels it must be something i got from my best friend Mae LOL oh and Slippers!! this boutique hotel is just the cutest! after Russian River kev and i decided to come back to the hotel and just chill. the room isnt all that spacious but it'll do for a quick night in out in a new town type thing. you have everything you need except it does not have a microwave which i didnt care much about being it in the middle of santa rosa downtown! anyone can just walk out and theres restaurants left and right. The thing that we had trouble with were the double doors. from the hallways there is an initial door we have to open to get to out actual room door. After getting shiiit faced at Russian River we fell asleep and woke up hella thirsty. they have a water dispenser in the lobby so we go down there and get our water bottles filled and we grab one card thinking it'll work for both doors! we get to 3rd floor and the initial door doesnt open...... kev went down 3 times to check with the receptionist and finally the guy comes up and says, "Oh, we didn't assigned you with this door" uhm.... LOL okay. turns out! we were given 2 card keys; one of them worked for the outside door and the other works for our actual door but how were we supposed to know that? i just assumed that both keys would work for both door i mean isnt that the point? anywhos! I just wish the guy came up the first time my boyfriend came down instead of having him come back 3 other times. I'm sure this issue had been resolved and brought up to whoever is in charge of making sure that all key cards work. Overall this place is a Gem, We were told they're building more boutique like rooms next building which look to be in construction. also Sunday is free parking outside the hotel with the meters if you dont want to pay 17 dollars for valet but it does have a 3 hr limit so if you get there 5PM on a Saturday you are good bc after 8PM its free Also this place is pet friendly! read more

I had to stay here last-minute due to a work issue and the staff were extremely helpful in accommodating me and and my work needs. The hotel is clean and updated and I wished I was actually just staying here for pleasure rather than necessity. On 6/12 we had plans to come to town for our friends Wedding and had booked a room with Hotel E well aware of the cancellation policy being 24 hours. The night before our dog became very Ill and had to have emergency surgery for a adrenal tumor. When I called the Hotel I spoke to a Sharren or Sharon and she was so very understanding, patient and kind. She said she would speak to supervisor and get back to us. I was really thinking we would not get a call back but soon enough within 15 minutes she called. While they did not allow us to get a refund they did let us use the credit for another weekend in July. So now we can still go out to visit our friends and celebrate their marriage. Thank you again to the employee and supervisor who helped us with this rough time with our pup being sick. read more

What a spectacular find! This spot was recommended by a friend who I was consulting with about places that would allow dogs in the Santa Rosa area. I was floored to see pictures of the rooms... I couldn't believe they allowed dogs in such an elegantly decorated space! I incorrectly assumed that to book a hotel that allowed pets, I might be sacrificing some elegance and/or cleanliness, and that was just not the case! Staff was very helpful and easy to reach by phone. I was delighted upon check-in to see that our room was just as gorgeous as the website photos, and sparkling clean! If you're bringing a pup, you'll be happy to know that the hotel is located on a large grassy plaza, with ample space close by to squeeze in a quick walk or potty break. There were so many wonderful eateries within close walking distance, and it really made for a simple and enjoyable trip. I will most definitely be staying here again, with my dog in tow! read more

We would give this hotel more stars if we could. What a gem on Old Courthouse Square! The hotel is contemporary, cozy and inviting. The staff was friendly and welcoming, also. The wine and beer bar was a definite plus, serving local wines and beers. Our room was cozy, clean, and very comfortable, and stocked with robes and slippers. That was a nice touch. It was also stocked with wine and champagne glasses. The only thing missing was coffee mugs (only paper cups were provided). The Keurig machine had really good coffee pods (thanks!) There were lots of other homey touches, such as local books, photos and paintings. And the price was reasonable, too. We'll be back! read more

Came by here to check this place out and make a reservation. There is no front desk that I could see. I wandered down the hall and didn't see anyone that could be of assistance. Maybe the bartender checks you in? I have no idea. The conference room is an odd addition and just made me feel like I was at work. Not the kind of feeling I want when I'm on vacation. Stayed here during the weekend of the Santa Rosa marathon. What an absolutely delightful hotel! The rooms are brand new and the decor is nice and clean and contemporary. The hotel is brand new, and for sure working out some of their opening hiccups, but the staff made up for any small inconveniences with their great attitudes and willingness to help. While there isn't a restaurant as of yet, there's a lot of food and drinks right out the front door. Would definitely stay here again in the future! read more

The rooms are very small and tight fit. We booked the king room and was told the bed was a King but we knew from experience it was more of a Queen. Very disappointing. The breakfast waS some cereal boxes muffins and yogurt. QUite high priced for not that many amenities. I will admit the rooms are updated with the most modern technology the shower even hs a dimmer switch for those sex craved nights . Parking is horrible good luck if you find a spot. You can get valet parking for $17 a night. The valet Kevin was a very nice man gave us some heads up on how and where to go around there. read more

Hotel E was a great choice for me considering the limited options of hotels in Santa Rosa that meet my standards; yes I'm kind of picky with my hotels! The location was prime; lots of places to eat and drink within walking distance. Limited parking, but the valet was an awesome perk! We stayed the night of the Tyson fury fight so we got back late and the valet made the process quick and easy. The next morning, I called the front to check out, and when I got downstairs my car was already running and ready to go! Shot out to the valet man! Check in was quick. The rooms was small, cozy, modern, clean and fresh. I like! The only recommendations for Improvement are to do something with the old ugly building next door. Looking out my window wasn't pleasant; I saw a dirty dark alley and cement wall; not too sure what they can do about that, but when I say at a hotel I like to keep my windows open for the light to shine in! My room was 312 which shared a hallway with 313; while in my room I could hear my neighbors in the hallway, so I wasn't comfortable with that. We made sure to be quiet. Shorty after we arrived in our room someone knocked on our door to give us ice cold water. Much appreciated. Overall, successful stay, friendly staff, clean modern cozy hotel. I grew up in Santa Rosa so when I'm visiting my parents and they got a full house, I will definitely be staying at Hotel E again. read more

I did not stay at the hotel but instead had lounged around in their lobby during the Santa Rosa 70.3 triathlon 3 days after they opened. Everyone we encountered were extremely professional and friendly and allowed people to hang out in their lobby, enjoying their air conditioning and charging our phones without being guests. They were very gracious and I wanted to support them and attempted to buy a soda and they even comped that! What amazing hospitality and I'm for sure stay here for the next race! We booked a room at the hotel for an overnight stay. The room was nice...small but very neat and clean. At 8.00 a.m. the next morning we were awakened to the pounding of hammers as a room 2 doors down was being remodeled. We complained and the pounding ceased. However, we were awake and I went to make coffee using the Keurig in our room. There were no coffee cups! We packed up and left the hotel. On a positive note, the staff at the hotel was very friendly and helpful. We would have been happier away from the early morning noise....perhaps on a different floor. read more

This place is absolutely beautiful from the inside and outside! Right in the heart of downtown Santa Rosa; a mecca of local shops, restaurants, and hidden treasures! The PROBLEM is the staff! They are aloof, pretentious, obnoxious and downright rude. I tried to help an out-of-town guest get into her reserved room, and was told to "butt out". Very rude, and the same fake blond woman told me on another occasion that I was not welcome there and please leave. I did so, but I felt compelled to let others know that this is not a very welcoming place to stay. Way too much attitude and judgement for me. A vacation should be relaxing and calming.
