I lived at this hotel for 3 weeks when I was in Enschede for work. I stayed in room 15 which is on the main floor and was on the end of one of the hotel wings. My room had a bed size that was slightly larger then an American queen size bed but not as big as a king. It was two beds pushed together which was fine for me as I was sleeping alone and could pick one side or the other. If there were two people in the bed and you were trying to chase your girlfriend around the bed I can see where the two mattresses would move apart and create a fun gap for you to fall in. The overall size of the room was great even bigger than some Hampton inn hotels in the US. The TV was only like a 32" but your in Holland, get out an enjoy life rather then watching TV. 75% of the channels are in Dutch anyway. The room had one wall that was all windows and provided a nice sunny morning to wake up to. The bathroom had a tub and a separate shower. It also had a hot water radiator to heat the bathroom that is also used as your towel rack so it created nice warm towels for you in a cold morning. I stayed in this hotel in March and April so temperatures were pleasant to a bit chilly. I turned on the hot water radiator in my room only once but was happy with the heat it gave the room. I noticed there was no air conditioning in the room so if you get hot easily be mindful of this if you are staying here in August! The staff at the front desk, and in the restaurants all spoke English very well. For breakfast they have 3 kinds of cereal, fresh fruits (Kiwi, pineapple, strawberries, cucumber) fresh breads, and slices of meat and cheeses. There is a coffee machine, and fresh orange juice to drink. Another reviewer mentioned you were supposed to keep track of how many times you eat breakfast and tell the people at the desk when you checkout but I was never told that and I did not see that written anywhere so I assumed it was free breakfast. If I am wrong sorry De Broeierd! I also ate in the restaurant for dinner a couple of times and each time the meals were very delicious. Another thing a reviewer mentioned was the hotel was far away from the center of town and she had to take a taxi to get there. When you stay in Holland do as the Holland people do and DO NOT take a taxi anywhere. The hotel rents bikes for 6 EURO a day. The inner city is just under 15 mins away by bike and let me tell you from experience it is well worth being on a bike rather then a taxi or driving. The entire city of Enschede is built for bikes. There are bike lanes, bike traffic signals, and even bike highways! Don't drive your rental car because once you get to the inner city parking is a pain and if you get in a lot or garage it cost money. Then you have to walk everywhere which the inner city has a large amount of area to explorer and see so a bike makes getting places much easier. The bikes have a storage rack on the back so if you do some shopping you can carry it all back to the hotel with you. Another reviewer mentioned that WIFI costs money. I was able to connect to WIFI with both my phone and laptop without paying anything. At checkout I discovered that the hotel DOES accept American credit cards with a magnetic strip. Both American Express and Visa were accepted. read more
