This was a really neat place. It's a bit different than your usual hotel experience, of course,…read morebut I'd definitely stay here again.
To check in, we visited Cafe Pini, which was in the same building. There, we were given a sealed envelope with a letter and two keys. This felt a bit awkward to me, but only because I had forgotten about this instruction in a prior e-mail I'd received, and therefore wasn't expecting it.
The rooms and bathrooms were clean. Decoration varied. One room was more modern, another was completely...bizarre, to be honest. It made me feel like I was living in an antique shop. I appreciated the unique atmosphere. (The bathroom was completely modern, and even included shampoo, soap, shoe horns and shower caps.)
Great location. There were a lot of restaurants, cafes, bars in the area that were very much worthwhile. You could also walk to the main attractions (Marienplatz) easily if you wanted to. There's also access to public transportation very close by.
The breakfast was included, and was very good. The spread wasn't obscenely large, but the food was delicious, as was the coffee (French Press, made fresh!!!) The very nice lady who ran the breakfast sliced fresh ham as soon as she noticed it was getting low, and checked in to make sure you had everything you needed. Additionally, the atmosphere of the breakfast was very nice. Quality tablecloths, matching china...very fancy.
