As I was paying the check, I also noticed that they have a nice selection of various scones and teas. There is extensive outdoor seating, but I am not sure as to the smoking situation. For me and three workmates, it was a tight fit in the back dining room, but we made it work. Drink options are limited to canned and bottled sodas, some of which are cold and some are not. It seemed that our request for ice was a hassle for the server. My apple, blue cheese and walnut on a white baguette was fantastic, even though it was very difficult to eat. The stuff just kept escaping out the back end of the sandwich as I ate. Fork to the rescue. The turkey and cranberry baguette was pretty normal looking. The winning meal at the table was absolutely the seafood salad, which was a big piece of smoked salmon and a pile of prawn ("shrimp" in American) salad on top of lettuce, cucumber and tomatoes. Other than the ice thing, good service and a reasonable price. Four with two sodas each was £35.

Samples are in the form of large chocolate buttons, hence the name Knoop, which means button in Dutch. Hot chocolate was needed on a cold March morning and we plumped for a 54% Exclusive Blend with added cardamom (not too strong and a little sweet) and a 73% Single Origin from the Philippines (stronger and bolder with an unusual citrus taste). Both hit the spot and warmed us up, and although it is a little more expensive than run of the mill hot chocolate it is a gourmet product and worth the splurge. They stock a range of appealing bakery items too but we were happy with our rich hot chocolate.
