I went in this supermarket on Friday 1st of August to do our monthly shop, we used the scan as we…read morego scanner which we always have done with no problems in the past apart from being checked 3 times out of 5 visits which is annoying but always with no problems. So we do our shop which came to £333 get too the checkout and as expected get a message saying to call a member of staff to check our shopping. This member of staff turns up and proceeds to rifle through our shopping checking i believe 65 items,, they get to the 65th item and tell us that we hadn't scanned a packet of doughnuts so they would have to check every single item in our trolley .We then spent roughly half an hour whilst every single item was took out of our trolley and spread over the service desk ,in bags on the floor, bags in the trolley and an on an adjacent unsed till.There was hardly any consideration for the fact they were handling our food and it didn't appear to matter if the food was fragile or not the only concern of the member of staff was to find if we had (stolen) ((because that was how we were made to feel)) anything else.I also noted the security guard had not intervened but had moved closer so he was between us and the exit,coincidence maybe but i certainly wasn't going to run through him with my bag of doughnuts..Anyway after being embarrassed for about half an hour we were finally told everything was in order and we could proceed to pay for our shopping but before we did this i heard the member of staff mumbled something to my wife which i didn't quite hear but here comes the money shot,,,,,,,,,They said "oh it was my mistake the doughnuts had been scanned after all ".Its probably a good job i didn't hear as i was seriously pissed off by this point as you can imagine.Suffice to say i will NEVER use a scanner in Blue Boar Tesco again and just be warned if you make a mistake and miss an item or the staff member makes a mistake you are going to have to stand there and be made to feel like a shoplifter even if you are as straight as the day is long like myself...PS If Tesco dispute my version im sure the cameras would have been watching and i have the till receipt with the doughnuts on it to prove my story is true.

She soon changed her tune when legal action was threatened, The culture is toxic and the worst person you could work with there is Sam Lowther. She tries to intimidate people and be patronising. She gets away with it with vulnerable people but as soon as she tried doing it to me and my partner after she left, she turned red and was shocked we bit back. My partner suffered with very major health problems including benign tumors popping up in her body that caused pain, she tried her best and they were awful caring for her. There's also a woman called Jane on customer service who is proper rude. She is absolutely awful. There is cases of bullying from workers too. I'm just a partner of an ex worker. She's not even complained its just been me. Now every time we go in, we get evils and get stared at. Sam lowther tried starting on us at self service after I complained about her harassing my partner on social media. That hasn't even been dealt with. If you know tesco and know the big blonde woman with a funny shaped head. That's her, she shouldn't be working in a place like that and I suggest people have some fun with her.

This Sainsbury's store was refurbished and enlarged about a year or so ago and now has a fantastic…read morehomeware and clothing department, as well as a huge range of food and drink items as you would expect. They also stock small electrical items, entertainment goods and an array of children's toys at reasonable prices. I am often stocking up for presents for children's parties from here. The clothing too is stylish yet affordable and I often find I have an item or two in with my groceries! There is a pharmacy in store too which saves a separate trip elsewhere to pick up prescriptions. Staff are very helpful and polite and I have never had any problems returning items to customer services. If you need a break from all the shopping there is a cafe area offering a selection of meals and light snacks. They also have a commitment to making sure their food and drink is fairtrade and organic, as far as is possible, which is all for the good! There is a petrol station on site too. The only downside I would say is the carpark. It has been improved slightly to what it was a few years ago but I still find it quite a confusing system to navigate in and out of. Plus, the traffic lights to get in or out of the store do not help matters. However, it is worth making the trip. In it's favour the store hardly ever feels cramped and busy and shopping there is an pleasurable experience.

Fruit and Veg is generally quite good but if you get there late in the day you will be limited for choice. There is also a good range of toiletries and household goods at very reasonable prices. Later in the evening they reduce a lot of bread and fresh food - ideal for making those pennies go even further. Queues are often long, but staff are friendly and helpful. Within the store is also a Macdonalds if your kids are driving you mad for food or a drink..

Getting a space in the area down by the icerink is fine, but trying to get a full trolley down the slope that leads there has probably resulted in more than one insurance claim

They also have some fresh fruit and veg as well as non frozen food items. As you'd imagine it's pretty vital to have a large freezer to store all these treats. There's a chiller to the right of the checkouts that has some short dates and odd food items that are unsellable. The curry cod fish kebabs were my favourite and surprisingly tasty. There's always a bit of a queue as people go mad and buy lots of things. It's the only supermarket in the area now Budgens closed down opposite.

They also sell fresh produce to along with cakes, crisps, and other bits. This store has never been that busy whenever i've been in there but they do not have that many staff around whenever i've been. Parking is a short walk away so if you have many bags then that can be problem. The store is well presented and clean and tidy.

Making your purchase can take a bit as the queue ("line" in American) can be a bit slow at the tills ("registers"). But if you need something and you need it now, this is the best place around to get it.
