This hotel is on Lido Island so if you want to walk the canals, you have to take a ferry to and from.
The bed is comfy and it seems like this hotel is more within a neighborhood than within all of the canals. I'm here with Trafalgar so I'm not sure how much it is per night but it is probably reasonable compared to hotels right on the canals. If you're looking for a place to sleep with a continental breakfast and a decent bed this is the place.
If you're looking for posh, this isn't your place. This hotel is 'old world'. The blow dryer is from 1950 and the tissue holder on the bathroom wall falls off each time you pull out a tissue. The bed was comfy, but not high end, but we SLEPT. I guess, on a positive note, staying here is seems quite inline with the Venetian norm compared to a hotel bought, gutted and redesigned by some giant corporate organization.
There is a nice patio that overlooks houses and buildings another reminder you're not in the U.S. kinda AWESOME!!!! You can't see the canals though, just lots of beautiful old buildings and you can hear light street traffic. There are cars here. On the other side Venetian islands there are no cars nor bikes.
There are close by restaurants and a grocery store.
This is an okay place to stay and would stay again if it was going to save me a ton of money. read more
