The Hotel Belmonte is twinned with the bar and night club Mojo's. The hotel in itself is nice and comfortable. The rooms are modern yet not clinical (they had accessories which made the room cosy such as the lamp shades and the throw on the bed), the shower room was clean and all the usual tea, coffee facilities were available. The alarm clock was also interesting with an option to have the time projected upon the ceiling and made an array of "relaxing" sounds such as wave and rain - the sort of thing you would find on a meditation CD- which was nice to have on later in the evening to cover up any noise from the nightclub downstairs. The Room also had a TV which had all the usual channels (1-5) even if they did not correspond with the channel they were on i.e. ITV was on 4, channel 4 was on 2 and BBC 2 was on 3 - though this, once you figured it out, was liveable. The location is great as it's a 10 minute walk from both the centre - great for shopping- and the train station. It is also on the biggest club/bar road in Norwich.
The only unfortunate thing is that at about 11pm when the nightclub gets going the bass does travel up into the room though you can not hear the words of the music or any other noise such as from the street. However, on a street such as it is on you would be likely to encounter noise from the bar/clubs/restaurants neighbouring. If you intended to go out to any of the clubs this hotel would be ideal and you wouldn't notice the noise.
Note: There is quite a lot of stairs to get to the rooms so if you do have difficulty with stairs this may not be suitable for you as there is no other access read more
