Overall, I rate it 3.5 stars.
PROS:
My room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. Check-in staff is very friendly. The location was convenient: Plaza Dorrego is right outside (there was a free tango performance by one professional couple around 5 PM). There are also were lots of little stores and cafés within just a few blocks. The breakfast buffet (not free unless it comes with your room rate or Hilton Honors status) was also good: scrambled eggs, sous vide eggs, cereals, breads, ham & cheese, packaged yogurts, pastries, whole and cut fruits, juices, coffee, tea.
CONS:
You can hear EVERYTHING in the hallways and sometimes a neighboring room, but luckily no one here was staying up late and the hallways were usually quiet. Unusually, there is no hair dryer provided. One bedside lamp didn't work. There was also no light in the bathroom, so I slipped!, but fortunately caught myself before I sprained anything. (I later learned the bathroom switch is in the hallway, but the lightbulb was not working anyway.)
OTHER DETAILS:
- Floor 4/terrace: Small pool (currently under construction) and small gym with a filtered water bottle refill station. Three single-stall bathrooms, and showers for pool visitors here too.
- Floor 3: Meeting rooms? (not sure because the elevator wouldn't stop here)
- Floors 1-2: Hotel rooms
- Floor 0: Small lobby
- Floor -1: Restaurant and breakfast buffet
- Floor -2: Meeting rooms
Early check-in beyond 1 hour is likely not possible because it is a small boutique hotel with only about 30 or so rooms. (No responses via WhatsApp or Hilton app chat either.) So you can leave luggage with front desk staff in the meantime and use the restaurant bathroom downstairs, but because it is on basement level, it is very humid (no air-conditioning) and small.
All in all, I enjoyed my stay here. read more
