We were there in July so we kept the windows slightly ajar to get some air flow. They were able to sell us passes for the gondola ride to/back to the top of Zugspite mountain - that was very convenient. The staff here are excellent, the food is really good and, the bar has an excellent selection of wine, whiskeys, rums and schnapps, at a reasonable price. The view here is spectacular and, there is a small lake at the back of the property where, you can go boating and hire the boat from reception. Although, the breakfast, lunch and dinner was buffet style, the food was excellent and tasted amazing. The meats were excellent and beautifully cooked, breakfast choices plenty, lots of salads and so on on offer and excellent service. The bar was the real highlight for me as not only were the staff here excellent the choices were plenty and I could have spent almost all my money just tasting various single malt whiskeys and other such drinks. I would happily come back here again for the great location, excellent food and great service.

Be prepared to hear the river and the church bells that ring every 15 minutes (even through the night). Breakfast was a wide variety of food... Lots of fresh fruit, fresh bread, granola, yogurt, fresh cooked eggs. The staff was so friendly. I have extremely limited skills at speaking German so I was perhaps overly happy to use my new phrase "mein Zimmer ist wundershon". I would definitely stay here again!

You need to walk about 25 min to get to Marieplatz in Garmisch (city centre). It might seem like a long walk, but it actually isn't tiresome at all, as the views are breathtaking. More about the hotel: It's very clean and modern. Staff at the reception is really friendly. We were actually 10 mins late to check out, but there was no problem with it at all, they just smiled and took the keys :) We had a room with the queen bed and sofa in french style. The room was great, a good combination of price and quality. Everything was very modern, clean and new. We had a nice view on the mountains. They have daily room service. The room has a small bar as well, although you have to pay for the items in the bar. The hotel has a great small pool area. It was really quiet and relaxing, seemed like no one was really using it when we were there. The water in the pool was very nice and warm as well as it was warm in the area of this indoor pool. Mercure has a small fitness room, we didn't actually use it, just passed by. There wasn't a variety of equipment but seemed more or less ok for a room of that size. Hotel also has a nice sauna which is opened from 3 to 10pm. Hotel is located near a Netto supermarket and a gas station, so if you need to grab something quick, that shouldn't be a problem. There are also a couple of nice restaurants within 5 mins walk from the hotel. Overall, Garmisch-Paterkirchen is a beautiful place and we were very pleased with the hotel! Recommended :)

The staff is very friendly and they match you up with waiters who speak English. We selected the 3/4 board option. This includes breakfast, a heavy snack, and a multi course dinner. Coffees and alcohol is extra and will be billed to the room. You sit wherever you want for breakfast and snack. Dinner is assigned seats. I recommend that you make a reservation for The Tavern when you arrive. It books quickly. The hotel provides you with a bus pass, but we chose to take a taxi to the hotel initially instead of waiting for the bus (it was around 20 euro). Since we visited in winter, we were able to sled one day that it snowed and we walked across the frozen lake! So cool. The spa is "textile free", so we chose to sauna with a towel around ourselves, but everyone else was naked. Swimsuits in the pool. We took ski lessons one day from the company that the hotel recommended and our teacher, Devi was awesome. We weren't able to go sledding at the Zugspitze (cool cable car that travels to the highest peak in Germany, the cable car is at the base of the hotel) today because of a snow storm, but we hope to go tomorrow! Keep in mind, the hotel rooms and hallways are "dated", but very clean! Everywhere else is very lodge like and more modern. The rooms have these cool doors that open regularly and also tilt open for ventilation. And the showers????? They aren't dated, they're very modern and fabulous. Oh! And they have a pillow bar, which is free. We ordered the lavender ! This was a really cool place to visit and very unlike what we have in the USA. Would love to visit again. I want people to look past what is expected from a modern American hotel. This place is so wonderful and a few stains (I saw a previous photo) shouldn't prevent you from booking a stay.

It is beautiful and captivating and everywhere you look is a postcard. Staying at this hotel was hitting the jackpot. My friend found an awesome online deal for a few nights here. It was easy to find once we got into town. We were greeted by the friendliest employees. Michael was the man who assisted us with our bags, and showing us to our room. He was such a nice guy and continued to check on us throughout our stay to make sure everything was to our liking. Our room was clean and comfortable and large, with a small patio. It was simply decorated and we were both so comfortable the whole stay. Their breakfast buffet was INCREDIBLE. Fruits, meats, breads, quark, coffee, juices....YUM! We also got set up with bikes so we could scoot around town. That was awesome that they offered that free deal. It gave us the opportunity to see the town in a different way. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. It was a wonderful experience.

The amenities are good, though very small, as is the property itself. It's really ideal for families who want a quieter stay very close to the mountains. The food was amazing for an all-inclusive. The reason for my low rating is the child centre has a number of drawbacks. Firstly, they closed from 15:00-18:00 which is a huge inconvenience for those who want to enjoy and afternoon on the slopes or want to relax in the spa. The other thing is they didn't take the kids outside to the small play area despite the beautiful weather we had. And finally, and most irritating, one of the women who works there brings her own children. She spent her time focused on her kids and neglected the guests. Her son was also pretty aggressive with the other children and she had to jump in a few times. If this situation with the child care centre is changed, it would be a perfect place.
