This LA Fitness completely meets my needs…read more I've been coming here for nearly six years. OK, I confess there were gaps when I wasn't coming here, but should have been coming here. This facility is large, airy and clean. Gym members are chill. I come here to lift weights and use the cross-trainer. This is the best gym I have been to for an abundance of aerobic machines. Of a slight bit of concern is that in my visit yesterday, I noticed a number of the cross-trainers and bikes had Out of Order signs on them. On the other hand, the weight machines are consistently well-maintained. There's a very good selection of weight machines too. While I don't use these particular amenities, this club has a basketball court, non-coed dry sauna and pool. A Jacuzzi might be in the pool area, but I don't know since I haven't been out there. I saw a complaint in a previous review about the staff mopping the floors while the club is open. I think it is a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation. If LA Fitness didn't clean up during the day, members would be complaining about the messiness. Personally, the cleaning doesn't bother me. Well, it's about time this morning for me to get over there and do my workout.

Was going to give two stars just because the place has a lot of equipment, but I was extremely…read moreunhappy about what transpired with me going to try use this gym. Tried signing up with the free 3 day pass to try the gym and got an email with a QR code and then was forced to set an appointment time to tour the gym which I set up. Then when I get to the gym I mentioned that I was here for a tour of the gym I had to do but they just ignored me as I stood there for a few minutes until they asked if I needed help scanning into the gym. The employees at the desk then told me that they don't actually participate in the pass program even though it listed as directly from their location's site. After reading other reviews on google it's obvious that this has been a thing for over a year where they won't honor the pass that they themselves are distributing. The employees then tell me they can get me on a full membership or a $20 day pass which isn't really a "day pass" since they don't send you anything that shows its good for the day or for the next 24 hours. It's just for you to walk in right then. Not wanting to leave and give up a chance to work out when I already drove all the way down there plus making it awkward I just agreed to get a day pass. After going downstairs I noticed that while they do have a lot of equipment around a lot of it is in disrepair or is extremely old and missing things. Attachments for cable machines just lying randomly around the floor, dumbbells strewn around everywhere, dirty wipe cloths littering the floor and draped on half the machines. The place was very dirty and they have just one poor woman trying to clean the entire gym. Even more so as a health concern there were almost no supplies to clean and wipe down equipment after use with there being only one stocked wipe dispenser in the ENTIRE gym. People aren't going to clean after themselves if you make it so difficult to do so but as a result it's just asking for ringworm transfer or something along those lines. The only water fountains are broken and don't even have the buttons you need to activate them. Vending machines broken, equipment broken, and the gym just tapes a piece of paper on the side saying "repairs scheduled." The locker room was gross and had a nasty, musky mildew smell. TLDR: The worst gym I have ever set foot in so far. I feel scammed out of my money and the whole place is in a gross state of cleanliness and disrepair. Turned me off of ever going back to a LA fitness again in the future.

I was in town for the…read moreholidays - I live in Atlanta - and I happened to come across this gym after getting a day pass to work out at LA Fitness (which... ugh we don't need to talk about that). I googled it and it seemed decent, so I purchased a little three-menbership to use after Christmas. Getting the membership online was super easy, and the gym was very easy to access through the app. And the app itself is probably the easiest and most user-friendly gym app I've ever used. Points Pure Fitness! Those little cylinders get a little tight when you're entering, but you're only in there for a few seconds lol. The gym itself is a little on the smaller side, but it uses the space REALLY well. I love that they've got roadmaps of where everything is in the gym posted both outside and inside the gym, so it's very easy to find what you might be looking for. There's plenty of cardio equipment, plenty of machines, and multiple free weight areas, as well as squat racks, powerlifting platforms, Smith Machines, and a couple of bench press stations that can also double as squat racks. There's a nice little turf with sleds, battle ropes, and stationary tires. They also have a nice stretching/abs area, that also has multiple standing punching bags, which was really cool - I didn't use them on these first two visits, but I definitely will whenever I come back! The strength and cardio machines are Matrix machines, which I'm not the biggest fan of personally, but they absolutely still get the job done. And that's purely a personal preference as an experienced lifter and trainer, but it wouldn't/shouldn't inhibit anyone's experience at all. If I had to name any cons, it would probably be these two relatively minor things: -The layout takes a little bit of getting used. There doesn't really seem to be a pattern to how the machines are set up, legs and upper body machines mixed and in random places, but once you get used to it, it's fine. And the cleaning stations and trash/recycle receptacles are sometimes oddly placed, to where you may be right next to trash can, but have to walk a little ways to find a cleaning station, or vice versa. But we're all there to get a little extra cardio, too, right? Lol. (I also do appreciate that they have recycling stations, too.) -The locker rooms are mostly pretty clean, and there are plenty of showers, that mostly seem to be fairly clean, as well, and they're nice and spacious. I always shower and change after my workout, so that's appreciated. But the bathroom area was pretty filthy on both of my days there. I know that's kind of par for the course for 24-hour facilities, but on back to back days during the week, I feel like I saw the same filth spots in the bathroom area. Though on my second day, the cleaning guy was in the locker room cleaning in the afternoon, so that was great to see. And the rest of the gym seemed very clean, which I absolutely loved. Neither of these are enough to dock any stars, though. Overall, I really enjoyed my experience at Pure Fitness Springfield. I didn't really interact with any of the staff there, but other reviews seem to have very glowing things to say about them, so I'll take their word for it. And the trainer I saw on Friday seemed to be very engaged with his clients, which was cool. Northern VA is home for me, so whenever I come back, this will absolutely be my gym of choice. And if I ever move back long-term, I will definitely sign up for a full long-term membership and make this my home gym. Thanks for a great experience, and I'll be recommending you to all of my friends and family in the area! :)

Now they offer overflow parking and a shuttle which is definitely a bonus! The cafe and bar are a gem and service is friendly, but can take time with larger crowds. I have hated going here, dealing with its business office is like dealing with a used car salesman, the atmosphere is like a New York City bus stop from the 1970s, and they don't care at all. I thank god every single day that I don't have to give them any more of my money. When we signed up, we were given a complete bill of goods. Lied to. Their children's spot, which they for some reason call "Super Awesome Amazing" is more like "we'll watch our phones while your kids run around like lord of the flies. Oh they got hurt? whatever!" Do you want to cancel your membership or let it expire? Good luck with that! I've had more positive experiences with Comcast. The food at the cafe? Overpriced and bland. For some reason the Premiere Lacrosse League holds its preseason events there. I boycott this tournament solely because it's at this joke of an establishment. There is no legitimate reason why this so called gym should be recommended to anyone at anytime for any reason.

All of the dance moves have changed in one way or another, but this to be expected. I did not know all the new steps, but it doesn't matter as long as you are still moving to the music. Hell even the instructors get mixed up, but are still smiling and having a great time.  $7 dallors gets you into the groove and into the classes. Robert's twin brother has returned from his country to also teach classes. I really enjoy the snippets of basic merengue steps Robert's brother included in the various dances. Today there were many people here that want to go through the process of being an instructor. Most of the people wanting to be instructors were women, but there was one or two males in the group. I really only remember one of them. His dreadlocks and light skin stood out for me; as well, as looking like force to be reckoned with.  This was a great day to reestablish my return to Chakaboom.  I even saw new merchandise being sold. These lavender t-shirt were for fighting alzheimers disease and they looked to be selling out of them quickly.  I think next time I am there and they have sweaters, I might just buy one.
