Luckily EJ was available to line up my face and he did a wonderful job. He lined up my mustache and when I asked for a straight razor shave finish, he was able to take care of me right away. I didn't ask how much the service was before sitting down and when EJ told me $10, I was blown away. It's 2.5x more for the same service up in the Bay. I didn't have any cash, but luckily he took Venmo/cash app for payment. I've been to to a few barber shops in the bay where the customer service is next to nothing. Not here! If I lived in the area, I would definitely give EJ a try for a haircut. He was kind, courteous, and did a great job.

Time for a change, and I settled on going someplace local... Town Square Barbers. Tim delivered a level of attention I did not expect. He took his time, and when I went to visit my stylist friend, she complimented the quality of my haircut. High praise, indeed. Yes, it's a Barbershop. They are guys. They talk about sports, they laugh and give each other a hard time. But there is also a camaraderie that feels like stepping back in time to the old days. They have a consistent flow of regulars that stop by for a cut or shave or just to say hi. Not something I was used to, but something I enjoy. We planned to get my Son's haircut on Sunday as it was getting pretty long and he has pictures the…read morefollowing Saturday. We planned for a few weeks the haircut that he was wanting to get. The time previously that we got his haircut at this location his bangs did not "connect" smoothly to his face on the sides and so I asked his hairstylist if she could fix it. She cut some more off of the corners of his face and it looked better but still was not "professional" work. This time he was getting a bit of a different hair style, going from more of a faux hawk mullet to a medium fade in the back and bangs that were just out of his eyes. I booked in advance Ashleigh because she was the most selected stylist at this location so I thought it was safe to assume that his haircut was secure. We waited for 2-3 hours for our "appointment" with Ashleigh before we showed up, checked in, and then waited another hour. Eventually, someone called us back and I am skeptical that this was the same lady that messed my son's hair up last time as she looked familiar and was working in the same spot. She looked nothing like Ashleigh from the picture on the app but I didn't want to assume she wasn't because she wasn't wearing any makeup and Ashleigh in her photo is wearing pretty heavy looking makeup. I didn't want to be rude. In hindsight I should have said something at that time questioning why it wasn't Ashleigh that was calling us back when I'd been waiting hours for her. Anyways, I show this lady 2 reference photos and describe what my son wants for his haircut. A medium fade in the back and bangs that are just out of his eyes. She then asked if I want his side burns faded as well of just shaped. I didn't understand because typically the side burns will match the height of the fade unless it's a man with a thick beard or something maybe. So I told her to fade his side burns as well with the fade. Seemed like we were all on the same page. I go to the waiting area like normal. Waited a LONG time. It was probably a good 45 minutes. My son walks around the corner to get his towel and shampoo treatment and I just started balling. I had to leave and hide in the car until my husband paid and came out with him. I needed time to calm down because I didn't want to complain and make him feel self conscious about his hair that he is stuck with for a while. That lady messed up my son's hair... BAD. I am writing this review because my son has been miserable for the past 2 days because of this haircut. He is 6 and has been hiding behind hats and hoodies because of how ugly he feels. I have NEVER seen him like this. And I have only been telling him how much I love the haircut and how good it must feel. This is honestly UNACCEPTABLE. There is just no way you can mess it up so bad and give someone something completely different than what they asked for which is a pretty popular cut. Should be easy work. My son gets his haircut often and is not hard to handle with haircuts. He is actually VERY good when he gets his haircut. I am just so disappointed. I hope that the lady that called us when she shouldn't have and that screwed up my sons hair twice because I believe it was the same lady, doesn't touch peoples hair with a ten foot pole.
