A Long Time Ago in a Galaxy Right Around the Corner... EPISODE I: THE FRESH MENACE It was a dark time for my hair. Having recently relocated to the Vacaville system, I found myself in desperate need of a last-minute trim, only to find my usual barber outpost completely locked down. With hope fading faster than a ship dropping into hyperspace, I sent a transmission to Town Square Barbers. A Jedi Master of the shears named Ryan answered the call and agreed to fit me into his cut schedule. Upon entering the establishment, I didn't find a wretched hive of scum and villainy, but rather a warm, lively cantina atmosphere. Young padawans and elder Jedi masters alike were filling the chairs, creating a vibrant, community vibe that instantly made me feel right at home. A few operational notes for fellow travelers: The Credits: They strictly accept cold, hard republic credits (cash only). However, you won't need to hire a bounty hunter to find some--they have an ATM built right into the shop's console so you don't have to wander out into the dune sea. Starship Parking: Navigating the local asteroid field to find a parking spot was a bit of a challenge, but I successfully navigated the coordinates and touched down right on time for my appointment. As for the final result? Ryan utilized his clippers with the absolute precision of a lightsaber. The cut is incredibly fresh, clean, and exactly what I was looking for. The Force is definitely strong with this shop. Thanks, Ryan--you've found a new ally in the local sector! Rating: 4/5 Kyber Crystals read more

Great experience today. We didn't have an appointment, but Flo called me back and was able to take my son, which I really appreciated. The haircut came out great and my son liked it. Everyone was friendly with good vibes and great customer service. We'll definitely be back. Thanks Flo read more

I went here for a shave after a cycling accident put my right arm in a cast and I hadn't shaved in a week. Tim shaved me, and did great job. I normally have what is called a circular beard, what people usually (and incorrectly) call mustache and goatee. My mustache and beard are connected, while mustache and goatee are not (thus the word "and"). Tim preserved the beard perfectly while shaving the rest of my face exactly as I specified, and well beyond the quality of any previous shave in my life. He and the other personnel in the shop were also incredibly nice and polite; a very relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. A shave here is not inexpensive, but it is definitely a "royal" experience, both in manner in which I was treated and the results. While I couldn't afford it regularly, this shave is splurge worthy for special occasions. read more

I had been going to the same stylist for roughly 30 years in Dublin. After moving to Vacaville, the drive and scheduling became too much. Time for a change, and I settled on going someplace local... Town Square Barbers. Tim delivered a level of attention I did not expect. He took his time, and when I went to visit my stylist friend, she complimented the quality of my haircut. High praise, indeed. Yes, it's a Barbershop. They are guys. They talk about sports, they laugh and give each other a hard time. But there is also a camaraderie that feels like stepping back in time to the old days. They have a consistent flow of regulars that stop by for a cut or shave or just to say hi. Not something I was used to, but something I enjoy. I've taken my kids here when it's imperative they get a top notch haircut, and they always know they'll walk out looking amazing. They're busy on weekends, so make sure to book an appointment. Again... if you're not sure ask for TIM. I appreciate the craftsmanship. read more

My husband & son both get their haircut here. TIM - does an awesome job & always takes his time. The location is in downtown with plenty of street parking + a parking lot next door. I definitely recommend Town Square Barbers for a fresh cut & beard trim! *** don't forget to bring cash! - cash only read more

We had been told about this barber shop by a family member. Today we decided to go check them out and are extremely happy with the results of a men's haircut and beard trim for my husband. Everyone in the shop are very welcoming . We had been downtown this morning and just popped in . Ryan answered our questions and my husband was seated right away . Great vibe and very clean as well as comfortable at the same time. Watching Ryan do his magic was impressive and the results of the men's haircut and beard trim look great. He will be back as often as I can keep him from grabbing the clippers for his hair and growing his beard to look like Santa . Again thanks Ryan read more

My go to place for a haircut in Vacaville. The best fades I've ever got. All the barbers are funny and create a nice atmosphere.

Town Square is fantastic! Enough said. Ok, I have cowlicks - I have a 'not so perfect scalp' & head. Didn't matter as Ryan worked that cut based on all my scalp obstacles, and did the cut just right! No more Great Clips for me! I shall return! read more

My normal barber of twenty years was closed so I tried Town Square Barbers' walk ins welcome and they took me right in. It was not rushed and got a great cut. I'll be switching to them. The place is clean and the Barbers are great making you feel like a regular on the first visit. They have a great relationship with the clients that were waiting. Wonderful place. read more

Brought my son a few times. Barbers are great at what they do and service is A1. If you don't go to Town Square your a square.

Had a truly great experience today! My son got lucky due to a last minute cancellation and Ryan was able to fit us in. My son has thick, coarse RED hair with many cowlicks. I've struggled over the years finding someone who could manage all of the "opportunities" that exist on this one head of hair. Ryan did an amazing job, he listened to my concerns but recognized that I didn't have all the answers and I didn't know how to communicate exactly what I wanted. He assured me he had it handled ---this was truly the best haircut my son has ever had. The Barbershop was welcoming and an overall great experience. Barbers truly are not recognized enough for their art, for their craft, for their hard work. Thank you for welcoming the "females"---no secret handshake or password needed! Great group of guys doing great things for our community. My son has never looked better. Thanks, Ryan, you are valued and appreciated! read more

One of, if not the best shop in town. When I moved to Vacaville 3 years ago, I tried several different places, great service at most, but elite customer service here at Town Square. I've gotten a hair cut by every barber there and have never been disappointed. Doesn't matter if you're new or been a long-time customer. They always try to make you feel at home. The name fits the environment that town square barbershop is involved at all levels in the community and the surrounding communities. If you're looking to feel like a million bucks, get your cut there. read more

The service is great they care for there costumers and Ryan and bundy and the rest of them are all really good at cutting hair and beards definitely recommend going here way better then great clips read more

These guys are great. I first went there looking to change my hairstyle and was nervous about the change. I went there with a couple of pictures and asked Joe if he could do it and with the utmost confidence he said, "Yeah no problem." He then took his time and it came out great. I've been back a number of times since and it's always a great cut. The conversations get lively and they could damn near just charge for the show. Great place in a great location. read more

This is the traditional, old school barber shop. People talking and laughing and talking sports trash all while enjoying a beer and getting a great haircut. Their work is great, and their attention to detail is excellent. I cannot recommend these gentlemen enough. read more

Great atmosphere, fantastic cuts. Do yourself a favor and make an appointment. Although they take walk-ins they get real busy. Though if you have to wait they do offer you a beer. My last cut was with Ryan and his meticulous precision and thoroughness is indicative of the quality you'll get here. read more

Love that I can just sit in Bundy's chair and he already knows what I want, and if he changes it up it's always an improvement!!! Two weeks ago he surprised me and sent me on my way with a handlebar mustache, which my wife loved. Today he gave me some more instruction on how to make the handlebar looks it's best and did a fantastic job trimming my beard. I get my haircut and beard trim every two weeks, just wish I could figure out how to get there every week!!! Thanks again Bundy!!! read more

I love this place and wouldn't go anywhere else. Most of the barbers are related so there's a lot of joking around and friendly trash talking. Great hair cuts, take walk-ins and may offer you a free beer. Best barber shop I've ever known. read more

New in town. They cut hair okay. However walk ins are definitely not welcome. They got mad when I didn't make an appointment and gave me attitude. None of the other barbers cared and their was no one waiting to get a cut but me. Still made me wait. Bundy I think was his name. Sadly, won't be going back now. read more

Great spot ,great barbers, chill vibe and always satisfied with my cuts !! Thanks guys

These guys provide excellent service and know what they are doing. Ryan is awesome, and the other guys are just as good. Walk ins only and appointments only on Saturday, but I can't complain for the professional cut and style they provide. Prices are good, and a beer while you get cut too! This is definitely my main spot to always get a cut and style at. read more

I had my son's hair cut here and they did a fantastic job. The guys are great at what they do and very reasonably priced. We highly recommend you try them out! read more

This review is for Bundy. Excellent barber. Incredibly skilled + thoughtful workflow. Very good with transitions/fades. I don't think I've had a better haircut and beard trim. If you have a big event coming up, don't be afraid to mention it. They are very understanding. Definitely schedule an appt if possible bc they get busy. I haven't gotten a haircut from the other guys, but from what I can tell they also do really good work. Also a good place for families. If there are younger chillun around they are mindful of the music and conversation. read more

I've been twice. I only have a couple complaints: the time it takes them to do a haircut (an hour and some change for my boyfriends experience), and then the shop talk. They do a pretty decent job cutting hair, if they'd focus more on hair cutting, they'd be able to get through clients at a more reasonable rate. The shop talk was funny at times, and other times probably not appropriate (especially when meeting newer clients, but in general). The way they talked about women was honestly really distasteful, a lot of swearing-I get the whole "guys will be guys"-but all in all it was pretty uncomfortable and unprofessional. I'd say just tone it down, read the room better. It's a pretty good group of guys, the banter can be pretty entertaining as well and so far, they've done great at their jobs. Just take to social cues, read the room before going off on certain topics. read more

Thank you Jaime and Ryan for such great haircuts. My boys haven't had a haircut since February, beside me giving them a little clean ups at home. I was so pleased with the haircuts. I am very picky when it comes to my boys cuts but this place did an amazing job. My older son said he was happy with his haircut as well especially because he didn't cut him during the haircut. I will definitely be coming back. read more

There hasn't been a time I've been that I wasn't over the top satisfied! If you take your look serious and want a barber to take you to the next level....don't go anywhere else! I'm in town for business and was in need of a fresh cut.  This was highly recommended so off I went.  The shop is located what seems to be an old downtown area.  The shop itself has 5 chairs with only 3 running at the time I came in.  There's 49ers paraphernalia all around the shop as well as deer heads.  It's a bit of a tight space and each chair looks cluttered but they make it work.  As I walked in I can already hear a female voice.  She sounds like a Karen.  I sit down and wait my turn.  Karen has two kids on the chair and she's chopping it up with the barbers with mostly her doing the talking. Yo, in my time waiting she talked about how she's been divorced twice but finally found the right man.  How she was in the Army as a Nurse.  How she gets child support and that "your Dad pays me".  The kids even chimed in and talked about how Dad gives her money.  Then the kids talked about how their little sister's Dad is rich.  She blabbed about her time as a cheerleader and how having kids ruined her body.  I mean she didn't look good now so...yeah.  I wanted to walk out so bad because this ain't the barbershop talk that I was used to.  But I was into deep you know and besides her kids was pretty much done.  Then they finally left after promising the barbers that she would come back would cheer leading posters.  One of the barbers gave that look...like "okay lady" but it was hidden by "ha ha ha, that would be great, see you!"  I don't think they want any heat from Karen and she left a good tip for them. After they left, the real barber shop talk commenced.  It was some good banter between the three barbers.  One guy takes a quick break for a snack.  I forget what the homey was eating but I think he was trying to be healthy because they were asking him about his fasting.  Then he was talking about using Stevia for a substitute for sugar.  This man getting his hair cut said it's still sugar and you can still get diabetes from it.  So my man replies with, "that's okay I'm on that Keto diet so it's killing the diabetes."  ...... I did get my fresh hair cut.  These guys had plenty of people coming in and waiting as I sat there enjoyed some more banters.  His name was Rico!  Rico took his time with the cut and I was pleasantly please with the outcome.  I'm not sure if they take appointments but I would asked because I waited a good while but it was worth it. read more

My go to shop so I can get my tiger king cut ! I highly recommend all the barbers in this shop can't go wrong .

Great service and price! Came in off the freeway looking for a place to get a fade. I took a leap of faith and tried this place out. They did a nice job, I'll definitely drive back from woodland again to give them my business read more

A great haircut and a great atmosphere; Gents, thank you for the fine work you all do. I appreciate your profession and talent. Thank you

Went to get my hair cut and a beard trim. Haircut was good. But they are not skilled at beards. I asked them if they knew how to cut beards well and they lied and said they did. I got the really young Hispanic man on the far right chair. Cost me 30$ and looked horrible. Cut away 4 months growth off my beard and left it patchy and uneven. If you need your beard cut and styled, go to JJ's barbershop down the street. Worth the wait read more

Great spot. New place in town but not new to hair or taking care of people. They have a place in Woodland too. They gave me a top notch haircut today and a beer on the house. YES!! I did say beer. They have two taps and you get to relax with some beer as they cut your hair. read more
