Located where the old Bava Chinese Restaurant was, this place has had a little facelift and now boasts its signature Dry Hotpot. The decor is simple and casual with extra seating upstairs.
We all know the big boiling hotpot of soup where we cook ingredients of choice in at the table. A very social and warming meal, absolutely perfect for winter so what is DRY hotpot?
Well the idea is you get a sheet a paper to select ingredients you would like. Prices per serve are stated on the ordering sheet. You can select from different meats, fish, squid and prawns as well as vegetables, mushrooms, quail eggs, noodles, seafood extenders and even spam. Basically just like when you order food for soup hotpot. Pick desired level of spiciness and the chef then cooks your selections in a delicious and fragrant Szechuan style sauce. The steaming pot of "stir fry" is then brought to your table to be enjoyed. It's a great sharing dish and definitely appetizing. I may have had 3 bowls of rice........
They also offer other Chinese dishes if you're not in the mood for dry hotpot but I have yet to try them. Though it did smell good going to the neighbouring tables! read more
