My friends and me stayed in this hostel for one night and we loved it!…read more The staff is super nice, beds were clean, bar/restaurant was fun, too, and there are great, relaxed, welcoming vibes. Not to forget the price - totally affordable. Mojitos are tasty, too, and they have a great deal - two for one!

If you're looking for a chill place to lay your head while exploring the island and the reefs, Beds…read moreFriends is the place to be. Pros: -colorful, tropical, relaxing Mexico vibe -beds are clean, housekeeping makes your bed every morning -attendants keep the place pretty clean -lots of windows to get the breeze in during the day, ac at night -plenty of spots to chill with friends: tables & chairs, hammocks, bean bags, pool side -not too loud at night: they play music until about 11pm, live music on Sundays -plenty of trees to sit under and enjoy the island breeze -there's a small swimming pool with an extra large rubber ducky floaty for great entertainment -dorm rooms and private rooms available -decent prices -they can help with activities, scooter rentals, SCUBA classes -charge everything to your account: pay for room and meals at check out but don't forget to tip -ask the attendants for ideas of where to go on the island -kitchen is open from breakfast till after dinner (burger and fries is pretty good, affordable) also doubles as a bar with drink deals -free sliced fruits for breakfast, tea all day as well -small lockers available in the lobby area, bring your own lock -small fridge for your food items: label it, and don't forget to dispose of it before departure -attendant insisted I pay in MXN cash, discouraged credit cards and USD cash (see below why this is a pro and not a con) -games and books available for use -laundry services for a small fee -15min wall north of the pier, close to the action but far enough from the noise in a residential area -free filtered hot and cold water cooler, bring your own water bottle Cons: -limited shared bathrooms: 1 full bath, 1 shower, 1 toilet, 1 outside sink...key thing is timing to avoid long lines, don't forget to close those window slits -prices for some of the activities are not the best deals on the island -no kitchen access, but you could probably ask them--when they are not busy--to heat up something for you -frozen tilapia for fish tacos...I was hoping for something non-tilapia and fresh from the sea -no personal lights on your bed, use your flash light -gravel in the courtyard, don't drop your phone! Before You Go: -credit cards are to your disadvantage on the ENTIRE island, additional 16% charge for use. Pay in cash: MXN is best, USD if you got nothing else. Pretty much everyone posts how much they'll take your $1USD for. -if you're on the island for SCUBA, research other companies for better deals, diver:guide ratio, size of dive groups, and boats before deciding to go with the one partnered with the hostel

First I want to say that this review is long overdue and I apologize to all the wonderful people…read morewho work at the Cozumel Palace for the delay. This is a very lengthy review, but I try to cover ad much as possible about my exceptional experiences. My family and I have gone there twice in one year, because we had such an amazing experience during our first visit in November of 2023. This past March of 2024 was our second visit and like I said, it was amazing. Not only did the staff remember us, but they made sure we knew that and made us feel super special. I've read a lot of reviews from other visitors and I have to say that some of their grievances are clearly due to a lack of research. First off, this property never claims to have a beach. Cozumel is known as one of the best places in the world for diving and snorkeling and this property offers excellent opportunities to experience both. Secondly, the shows; personally, I appreciate the fact that they give local talents a chance to show off their God-given skills and to teach tourists all about Mexican/Cozumel culture and history. Some people have called the shows "corny" or "cheesy." If you want Cirque du Soleil or something like that, go find it somewhere else. Not only do I greatly appreciate the variety of shows and the fact that they have one almost every night, but I also appreciate the fact that they are family-friendly. Thirdly, the cleanliness of this resort is impecable and I'm very picky about the cleanliness of places I stay at. Hats off to all of the cleaning and maintenance staff. I'll also highlight how easy, fast, and efficient it is to request maintenance through the app and be greeted with a friendly maintenance member within minutes of putting in the request. The fourth thing is the food. This one I can somewhat agree with some of the reviews, but mostly disagree. Yes, they have some things that are not good, but there is something for everyone and this resort offers an array of delicious options. If you don't like something, just mention it to a staff member and I guarantee you (based on my personal experience) they will go above and beyond to make it right. With this being said, I'll start my shoutouts: First off to Chef Elias Amor whom is no longer at that location, but is making families happy at another Palace resort with his incredible culinary talents. Next, I'd like to give a special thanks to Paola whom was the first person to remember my family and I, setting iff a chain reaction of exceptional service from The very first day of our visit in March. To Johnny, who made our anniversary dinner extra special by giving my wife and I a "Mayan coffee" show by the water. A very special shoutout to Mariana for checking on us every day to make sure we were having the best possible vacation and also to Alvaro for having such a wonderful F&B team. My "tocayo" Ivan for just being so kind to us in general and never missing the opportunity to ask us how our day was going. Thank you to Carmen, Pablo, Elizabeth, and Martha for their exceptional food service. Thank you to Enrique and Giovanni for slinging out the best drinks on the property. Thank you to Israel for accompanying us at the beginning and end of such an awesome and relaxing trip to Tulum. Thank you to David and Leslie for taking such great care of us during our kayaking and snorkeling experiences and thank you to Fernando for teaching us how to scuba dive. Last but certainly not least, a very warm and special thanks to Mayra, Alessandra, Angel, and Katya at Sweet & Coffee for working so hard day and night to make everyone delicious coffee, sandwiches, and snacks. Without all the hard work of the above mentioned staff member and of those I didn't mention, my last two visits to Cozumel would not have been so amazing. I can't wait to go back for a third time in the near future and I obviously highly recommend Cozumel Palace.

We had traveled for two days and were up for 30+ hours and this place was horrible. We booked it bc Lonely Planet book said it was great. Upon checking in the smell of mold was profound and the room was super awful. We were dead tired, no time to find another place and the front desk closed for the night. We booked for 2 nights but left the next morning. No one at the reception desk spoke English and we just didn't want to deal with trying to get a refund, we just left. See the photos. Dirty, moldy and gross.

Highlight for me was the dorm room beds. Lots of hostels just have uncomfortable bunk beds, but natura has these little cubbies built into the walls that are awesome. Each has a curtain for privacy, and inside there's an individual light and fan for your space plus a little nook to put things and a charging port. Only downside was they don't turn on AC in the room until 11pm--but they will if you ask! V nice service, everything was clean and comfy, really nice spacious showers. Lovely rooftop terrace with hammocks, lots of places to lie out, a book exchange, and a kitchen. Overall this hostel was smaller and quieter than many I've stayed at but it was beautiful, comfy and tranquil. And again, seconds from the beach! Hard to beat.

Dive shop on premises and the snorkelling is very good. Our room was spacious and very well equipped overlooking the serene garden area pool. Patio had a big comfortable lounger and was wonderful for dozing in the sun. Beach towels are provided and toiletries are high quality. Staff are friendly and do an outstanding job. We had an excellent dinner at Faro Blanco, many lunches at Le Cap and buffet breakfast at El Caribeno. The seafood dishes were all wonderful. Taxi to town is about USD 10 and the drive to the airport is about 20 minutes depending on traffic. We had a perfect stay here and hope to return soon!

I've stayed here a few times for work, and it's one of those hotels that keeps growing on you…read more The Setting The hotel sits about 15 minutes from the main town, in a quieter part of the island. That distance works in its favor. It feels calm, removed, and much more relaxed than staying closer to the cruise crowds. Architecturally, it leans retro, but in a good way. The bones are older, but the interiors have been updated with smart design choices that make everything feel current and polished without losing character. The Rooms The rooms are a strong point. Spacious, comfortable, and designed to take full advantage of the ocean views. Most rooms have some version of a water-facing angle, which makes a difference. If you're on the ground floor, you might get one of the outdoor rain showers. Fully private, surprisingly great, and one of those features you didn't know you needed until you have it. There's also a large indoor shower, so you're covered either way. The bathrooms are especially well stocked. Beyond the usual amenities, you get after-sun lotion, Evian facial spray, bug repellent, mouthwash, and pretty much every small item you might need but usually forget. Add in a Nespresso machine and blackout shades, and the rooms feel thoughtfully set up. Service Service is consistently excellent. Friendly, polite, and always willing to help. Nothing feels forced, just genuinely good hospitality. Food & Dining Breakfast is served under a large thatched roof right by the water, which sets the tone nicely. The buffet has a wide mix of Mexican and American options, and at around $30, it feels worth it for both the setting and the variety. Dinner was more hit or miss. I tried one of the oceanfront restaurants with a Mediterranean feel. Beautiful setting, disappointing food. The guacamole lacked flavor, and the picanha was overcooked and tough. Definitely not on par with the rest of the hotel. The Spa The spa is a highlight. Great setting, excellent treatments, and a nice bonus: when you book a massage, you get access to the spa facilities for two days. That includes steam room, sauna, plunge pools, and other amenities that make it easy to spend a full afternoon there. Overall Presidente InterContinental Cozumel Resort & Spa is a strong choice if you're looking for a relaxed, well-appointed stay on the island. Great rooms, great service, and a setting that makes it easy to unwind. Just be selective about where you eat on property.
