It was a completely unprovoked attack. The "experience" staff Yazmin and Romina completely failed to follow any proper protocol. They didn't call the police. They didn't call me emergency medical care. Instead, they left me to bleed all night by myself until I could figure out where to get emergency medical and dental services the next morning. Keep in mind it was also my birthday! Even though the guy who attacked me was also an American tourist, the hostel refused to release his name to me! He checked in on October 29th and they had all of his information and yet they still refused to give it to me so I could pursue charges. Cozme the manager said he would look into it and just kept pushing it off every day on purpose. Then they treated me like I was some outcast. Completely ignoring me and shunning me until I checked out on November 3rd. I had to get a emergency flight back home. I am currently undergoing medical and dental appointments to try and save my teeth. I may have to get fake implant teeth now and I'm an actor in New York City. Absolutely unacceptable behavior and failure to assist their guests in great times of need and emergency situations. That is not how you treat your human family. Hostel is a joke, pretty much run by "grown-up" children. They only care about partying and scamming guests for tours that they charge extra for to make money. Also, no hot water. Bathrooms that flood with peoples urine and other human waste. I wish I would have never stayed here. Completely ruined my 30th birthday trip and I'm now looking at months of medical and dental treatments.

A lot of folks were saying 'Como Estas' - I appreciated this culture. Very friendly staff here - I liked them all (most of them (I'm kidding around)). There was a daily excursion to meet other folks. we played Uno at the cenote (even though there was some people not saying uno when they had one card left, but it's fine, I'm over it now). One guy even had a blue card and said 'blue-No', I didn't get the joke and I still don't. At the same cenote, there was a man who told us that if we jumped into the water w sunblock on, he would be mad & would sniff it out. I tested the theory and put a bit on my left thumb. He smelled it! Always listen to authorities in Mexico! Especially when you're extorted by the polica for not wearing a helmet on a moped. I told them I spoke English but they kept politely speaking Spanish - way to be patriotic guys! ¿Que Paso?

As someone who travels and has stayed in a few in the area. I can say the value and staff friendless makes up for the older hotel. The place is big, and the pool area is ample. About 2 weeks prior to coming to the resort we reached out to your resort to make dinner reservations, knowing after a long day in the pools and the sun the kids would need to eat by a certain time and then be ready for bed. You responded to us that it would not be necessary to make reservations , there was plenty of room. This was clearly NOT the case upon arrival. One of the adults we were traveling with literally stood in line for almost 2 hours to make our dinner reservations for the week. The available times were 5:00pm or 9:00 pm. This was very disappointing as well as horrible times for a group of 9 to eat. When I went to the concierge desk to discuss this with them, the person sitting there was rude and took no accountability for this, they advised us to bring it up with guest services. The rooms were lovely and very clean, The pool areas were well maintained and very clean. The staff working the pool area was extremely attentive. Overall, it was a nice place, very kid friendly.

BED BUGS FOUND IN CONDO No hot water second night No water at all on the third night Says has gated security is just a guy that raises and lowers a pole no questions asked. Sliding door did not lock at all. Easy access for anyone. Owner initially refused any refund but finally got one nights funds refunded. Unpleasant experience Manager response: ( With renter response to each item in parenthesis). Be advised these are the owner responses and not the condo on sight manager. -At the check in no issue was noticed by you, so the apartment was delivered in perfect conditions. (Very quick walk through with condo manager no time for us to check absolutely everything. Who does). -There was hot water all the time, the second day the heater was shut down at the check in it was working properly, in 10 seconds it was lighted on by the property manager. ( Was working at check in. Stopped second night. Text and call manager no response until 2am in morning via text. Had to wait till 8am to show up and we wanted a very early start that day). -There is 24 hours security, it is false it is just one guy opens the door. As you know at the check in that guy was informed that you were renting the apartment, so this is the reason because that guy did not ask any time you came in, as he knew who you were. Nobody from outside can enter in without an identification. ( This is completely false. From first time entered gate was opened with out question to us if staying there or what condo number) -Bed bugs? As said before you did not notice any bed bugs at the check in. They appear in the second night? Where were they in the first night?. (Kids passed out on couch first night so we did not move them to bed. Second night when covers pulled down is when bugs discovered. Was same night as hot water going out so see above about response time. This was only remedied by changing sheets and we were told was ok now. Bed bugs live in the bed not the sheets thus called bed bugs. Mattress has to be destroyed and new purchased. We did check other beds and thankfully not found. Owner later says we could have asked for different condo of course this was after we arrived back to home in US. And no response to the zero water we did not have on the third night with now response at all from on sight manager. Ended up having to buy a lot of water at Walmart to warm up and use to get clean as we had a 7am flight the next morning. Could not clean or do any dishes as well. Also no response to the sliding door that had absolutely no locking mechanism what so every. Very huge security issue. Over all Playa del Carmen awesome place to visit, but would not recommend this condo.
