They do a thorough intake and take a holistic approach to patient health before making any recommendations for services. Immediately I liked his bedside manner and attentiveness; but what stood out was his ability to read the spine - even thru the shirt + sweater that I was wearing. He could quickly feel where pain and tightness was, and he manipulated individual vertebrae while asking questions to assess further. Once on the table, he got cracks out of my spine and neck unlike any that I had ever heard before- I really couldn't believe it! Then, with the acupuncture, he even connected it with the stim-wires and I could feel the healing pulse in my body! The Des Plaines Chiro One, led by Dr. Megan, is a very pleasant office with friendly staff. My time there was brief because a) my issues were hardly glaring or debilitating, b) I noticed no improvement over my three adjustments (and possibly a worsening), and c) I'm not sure I buy their medical "shtick." In researching chiropractic medicine, there seems to be very little substantive research that backs up their claims. In any case, I do believe some people can be helped with their treatment programs, which are primarily stretching exercises, the adjustments themselves, and (here's another "huh?") drinking water. Good for them! Unfortunately, with the exception of just a couple pieces of neck equipment, there's little there that you can't do at any gym for a small fraction of the cost to visit them. Their strong suit is the personable attention they exhibit. Dr. Megan is darned near captivating. In light of this, be wary of their pay-ahead plans which can ask for quite a few appointments paid for at the time of enlistment. You don't want to commit to 20 sessions when it's clear after a few sessions that it doesn't work for you or you simply don't like it. So... it may be worth your time, but tread lightly.

This is no ordinary Chiropractic health clinic, this office is comprised of a stellar staff lead by Megan Richter, DC. Doctor Megan is caring and knowledgeable, she takes extra time to ensure her patients are well taken care. She goes far beyond the call of duty, something that's rarely seen in today's ever fast paced environment. To be honest I don't fully know what the official job titles are for the rest of the team, but what I do know is that they are miracle workers. Joshua, is welcoming and witty. He makes it a point to know how the patients in the clinic are doing, making sure no one enters or leaves the facility without feeling fully appreciated. Dorota is friendly, smart, multi-lingual and has a true knack for leveling with each patient and making sure they are fully aware of their care plan, how to achieve their goals and what the next steps as far as appointments and timing are. Beth is secretly the rock of the office. She takes extra time with each patient to know what's going on in their lives outside of Chiro One. She makes sure patients are on task and is there to be helpful should we have any questions along the way. All in all, I would have to say this IS the Best Chiro One clinic, with the best staff and great results. The vibe is always positive and fun and I know I sure appreciate that when walking in. Last but certainly not least, Chiropractic care can be costly and in some cases rather unaffordable, Dr. Megan is a wizard when it comes to explaining the insurance piece, putting bottom line cost into perspective and working with each person to ensure they can revive the care they need. In July 2021, after seeing an orthopedic doctor and receiving a round of HA gel injections previously, my knee was in an abundance of pain. I could barely walk and it was affecting my ability to work, workout, drive and do normal activities with friends and family. At the advice of a friend, I called Active Care. I had never been to a Chiropractor before but was desperate for help. I was welcomed with friendly faces, a clean and open office, an insurance sheet that told me exactly how much I would owe for what and when, and Doctors with positive attitudes, outgoing personalities, and who truly want the best for you. I saw Dr. Freseth who created a plan for me that included rehabilitation, adjustments, exams, and regular massages with Cheryl. Every rehab session turned into "work and talk" discussions about food, life, athleisurewear and healthy living which made me excited to keep coming back and motivated to keep up my progress. Anytime I have a question about my account statement, I receive a response in less than an hour. By November 2021, I was pain free, back to working out 6x a week, and running faster every day. I am not an unreasonable person. I understand things come up but three (3) cancellations (two of which were on the day of the appointment) is unacceptable. I allowed AMH a chance to compensate for my time, leaving the allowance up to the facility but Natalie refused. For this reason I chose another provider. I know this sounds small, but to me, that's a welcomed difference; I don't feel like he's trying to milk additional sessions with him, and at the end of the day, he tells me to let me know how things go, and if I need to come back, I need to come back. I've been to chiropractors where they make me do exercises, only to see that the exercises that I'm capable of doing, I'm doing well, yet they tell me I need to come back again, and not only that, but for 3 or 4 more sessions. Not a fan man. When I went this time to get my lower back checked out, Dr. Curtis assessed me and explained to me what may have caused the issue, and what to do to prevent it from happening in the future. He also explained the whole adjustment process and the machines he hooked me up to. The overall process was pleasant and really helped. I would definitely go there again.
