We ordered gutters for our home - Dripaway Gutters, an extension of Marshall's - and were quoted an excellent price. Even with recent storms our area had received, we were able to get on the schedule quickly. Our gutters were installed in a few days due to the size of house and it looks like our home got a complete facelift. They were clean and efficient with clean up of old materials - we had old gutter attachments still on the house in certain areas, and they disposed of it with ease. We moved back to Rochester from out of state and bought a home in Fairport that needed some…read moreupdating and a major renovation that included taking two bedrooms and making them into one large bedroom suite with an expanded bathroom and large walk-in closet. In addition to that, they also replaced 3 closet door sets, 2 exterior doors, replaced several light fixtures and ceiling fans and installed a new ceiling fan, replaced toilets, etc....DJ and his partner were given full access to the house and they were there every day, like clock work for almost 5 weeks and the place looks beautiful. They were prompt, courteous, polite, tidy and very skilled. Their work habits and attention to detail, etc...speaks volumes. DJ even acted as my agent and helped see other projects get done while he was doing his thing (garage floor epoxy, whole house generator install, appliance delivery and moving-he put a covering on the wood floors so they wouldn't get damaged, etc....) They weren't the lowest quote we received, but not the highest either. We had a somewhat aggressive timeline and they were the only ones who said they could do it. They worked into the late evening a few times just to make sure they did. Communication was very good, especially when we were not there one single day during the project, but 4 states away. If there was a question, DJ called. If I didn't answer, he would move on to something else until he got ahold of me and had the question answered. I'm looking forward to seeing the pictures of our project posted on his website. The bathroom, especially the tiling, gets alot of "ahhhs" and "oooohs" and a couple other contractors (working for HD) have looked at it and were impressed as well. Even our painter positively commented on it and he usually isn't complimentary :) Don't let their age keep you from hiring Dede. You'll swear they are 10-15 yrs older than they are. We look forward to having him do our other full bath in a couple months once we recuperate from moving in. So I know they are capable, but unfortunately they didn't give my project that kind of care. I'm disappointed with the outcome, and their lack of response to my concerns. On the day they did the work, the owner requested payment. He told me they would come back the next day to finish, but they never returned. The following week I called and sent photos - regarding the quickly emerging weeds. When I questioned the site preparation, I was told they scraped it clean. He suggested I use weed killer, there was nothing more he could do for me.

Additionally, I was charged two separate $150 site visit fees ($300 total) for a single job that was split into multiple visits for their scheduling convenience. Despite a verbal agreement to provide the main parts 'at cost,' since I already had them ready to order, the final invoice included significant markups on basic cleaning and truck supplies like towels and buckets. When I reached out to discuss these discrepancies in good faith, suggesting compromise, the response was defensive and included immediate threats of late fees on a first-time invoice that was actively being contested. PitStop reduced the invoice by $50 as "good faith". After I itemized out a compromise between what I was led to expect and what was invoiced, I was ghosted. After waiting a few weeks and following up with no response, I chose to pay the invoice in full simply to close the matter, but I strongly advise other property owners to get a binding written contract and a capped labor quote upfront before any work begins.

We booked it and from beginning to end, it was smooth sailing with them. They consistently told me what was going on, where there technicians were and how much longer the work would be, each day. We had several different crews at different stages in the process and each and every one was great! They showed up on time, text to let us know they were coming, set up protective plastic sheets in the house, wore boot covers while in the house and worked hard each day. For all the work that they did, it was well worth every penny! Once complete, the work is fantastic and now we are enjoying our fireplace. Thank you 4 winds chimney!

To date, majority of the scope of work is complete with the exception of installing the cap. Satisfied with the workmanship done so far. The cap hasn't been installed & company is still waiting for delivery. 7 Months into this project when the cap dimensions were taken & I have to arrange for a 2nd install date. Company Warranty Policy: 1 of 5. In order for the company to honor any warranty re-work, the customer has to buy into annual inspections. Based on that, I can't give a full throated recommendation to a neighbor to use this company again
