The Gascon family are kind, friendly, and immensely talented. I took my 11-year old student here for lessons the past couple of days and it is incredible how much they learn in a single lesson. The way that they teach is through empowering you with confidence that you can do it, modeling, and then getting the kids to do it themselves. Similar to how great teaching looks in the classroom. First time in my life I purchased a horse without seeing the animal and riding. But the local Paso Fino ranch owners outside of Memphis recommended them highly. It proved to be a great decision. I got the sweetest and best looking horse I could probably had to search years for. Delivery was held up due to local storm damage, but she was delivered by the Gascons in June and they spent the afternoon giving tips and helping us celebrate the arrival. She had been trained by their son, and my trainer said he could just pick up with the finishing and polishing. She has proved so good, I am keeping her in training and the riding is the best I have had on a horse in my life. You can stay in touch with the Gascons if you have a question or problem. I did not realize the time and steps it took to get the horse registered by the Gascons took care of it. The old rule you get what you pay for in horses applies and that was the best investment I ever made in a horse. Hmmmm where to start. This place is a joke. A scam. I so wanted to love them since I live close by. I signed my daughter up for riding lessons and all Cindy Gascon wanted to do is gossip with me about other clients or try to sell me a $20,000 stallion for my young daughter to ride. I'm no expert but is a child even legally allowed to handle a stud? I observed her son Michael play grab a** with all the young female students and understand enough Spanish to understand the way they were talking about clients and students was appalling! I guess they don't believe in gelding any horses because they keep a looooot of studs. They go on and on about how the gait of their horses is natural yet many times I observed horses with weights on their feet and rope contraptions around the legs. I have witnessed both of the Gascon children and their friends being very harsh with the horses for example beating them with a whip to force horses into a trailer or stepping inside a horses stall to hit them for nickering at another horse. I also know for a fact that they don't pay their employees correctly. One of their trainers became friendly with me and confided that she hadn't been paid her salary in 12 weeks! Her family was sending her money to feed herself. Between the a**-grabbing the backstabbing, the horse abuse, and the Super FAKE attitude of this family..... and all the nasty talking in spanish... I decided to take my business elsewhere even if I have to drive all the way to Slidell. And Ladies if you have a teenage daughter I wouldn't dream of leaving her alone with the gascon family. read more

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit here. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. Our family went on a fun trail ride. My 9 year old daughter was placed on a trustworthy horse that made her feel safe. She smiled the whole time. She was allowed to give the horses treats afterwards, and even pet a baby pony. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. We will definitely visit again. read more

We sent our 8 year old who had very minimal training not enough to call broke when he was three. We sent him for 30 days with the instructions to make him as trail and husband broke as possible. In the 30 days he had him trail riding and obstacle course riding in nothing but a halte. that was 4 months ago and we have bene trail riding non stop without any holes we can find. I would recommend him hes not a pushover who claims to be "natural horsemanship" nor is he a abusive horse trainer. He is worth the money. read more

Horse haven is a fantastic horse farm with a limited number of traveling horsey hotel cabins and apartments to rent very reasonably. I stayed in the family apartment anode the barn. 2 bedrooms, lovely modern small kitchen, nice tile bathroom with large flat screen and cable. There was a great free snacks, spa quality towels, it was western theme but done very classy. I beleive I paid 100 a night. You won't find a nicer or mora Accommodating host and to top it off state of the art breeding and training. Paso fino stables 2nd to none. But hotel is open to all breeds. They offer stalls with auto. Waterers, nice clean well ventelated stallion stalls. Also love the paddocks and pastures (several acres)just a really really nice facility at a very reasonable price tag. I would recommend to anyone and will stay when I'm traveling with horses up hwy 59n. Call horse haven, amazing Christian business family, knowledgeable in all areas of horse training and care. Lovely quiet apt. They also have 50 amp rv spots and some nice small cabins in the woods. read more

This guy is not a natural horsemanship trainer. My horse was trained by him and he was said to be "child/family safe". NOT THE CASE AT ALL. It's has taken him a year of sitting out to unfrazzle his brain, then me working with him every single day for the past year to get him over his abusive PTSD issues that is sustained by MG. He is now a great little Paso. MG is not fair, or light handed. He talks a good game but his ways of "training" are nothing I'd ever allow anyone to do to any horse. He's known for hitting horses in the face, shanking them in sever rope halters for no real good reason at all, he constantly throws mixed signals to the horse and confuses it. His training is the same for every horse in a clinic, and I'd hate to see what he does to a horse he's "training" behind closed doors, oh right I already know. The Gascon's are extremely friendly and kind people with wonderful horses. Their ranch and stables are clean, safe and well taken care of by the staff. Their horses are a dream to ride even if you have no experience. They do an excellent job of pairing you to your horse for your ride. Highly recommend them and their horses to anyone interested. The people at horse haven introduced me to their gaited Paso fino horses and helped me get the horse I had under control.
