I initially found this company on Groupon. When I called to ask about services, they said I could just pay the man when he comes and still pay the Groupon price. I was fine with that and he came and sprayed the next week. While Ken was at my house, I asked him how long the spray lasts and how often I should have it done. He told me some people have it done monthly at their rate of $35, while many other customers just get it done only when there is a "Groupon special" being offered...depending on what they can afford. All this can be confirmed via my home security cameras.
So, the next month, I happened to see them on Groupon again and decided to go ahead and purchase it while they were offering the "Groupon special." I texted Ken on a Friday to get an appointment scheduled. By Tuesday I'd never heard back. So I called the office. A man named Walt raised his voice at me and talked to me incredibly rudely. I had him on speakerphone, so two other people heard it as well. He said, "You purchased it on Groupon?? WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT?!" I said I wanted to be sure and get the special and didn't think it mattered where I purchased it. Then he proceeded to yell, "WE HAVE TO GIVE HALF THE MONEY TO THEM!! WHEN YOU NEED SOMETHING DONE, YOU COME TO US!!"
Then Ken called me later that afternoon and also had a nasty attitude with me. Both of them had such a rude tone of voice with me that I couldn't believe I was actually speaking with a business. Ken exclaimed, "I TOLD YOU last time I came out that if you need us for anything to call us directly and we'll honor the price offered!!" However, after reviewing my security footage, that's not what he said. He told me that a lot of customers just take advantage of the "Groupon specials."
When I told him that Walt had yelled at me on the phone, he was like, "Okay good. Well I'm putting you down at 8 for next Wednesday."
I have obtained a refund from Groupon and will NOT be using this company again, no matter what kind of deal is offered. There is definitely NO 8 for next Wednesday, or ever. If you don't want customers to purchase a "Groupon special" then you SHOULD NOT offer one. I'm just a customer and a college student looking for deals. How the hell would I know they had to give half the money to Groupon? They acted like I was purposely trying to sabotage their business or something. I've never had anyone that I was hiring for a job to talk to me so rudely and unprofessionally. I will not be scorned and yelled at like I'm a child. And just because this company is in Vestavia Hills doesn't mean they can talk down to those of us who aren't from there. I've found another company to take care of my pest control. But honestly, Walt and Ken owe me an apology for their rude and unprofessional behavior and communication. read more
