Should you ever find yourself in Malmo wanting a cozy vegan/vegetarian meal in a beautiful…read moresurrounding, make sure to find Cafe Agnez. It's a little gem tucked away on Agnesgatan, and the fresh food and sunny courtyard are all you need for a relaxing lunch. You can choose from a 135 SEK brunch platter (available from 11.00-14.00), the 79 SEK daily soup, or 89 SEK daily meal (a heaping bowl of vegan curry when I visited). Both include bread, coffee/tea, water, and a selection of side salads. Make sure to save room for the countless vegan & vegetarian desserts that include cakes, cupcakes, cookies, and chocolate coconut balls. They also have a selection of organic sodas and juices. The feel is casual, like you're in someone's kitchen at home. Serve yourself from the tables set up inside, and be sure to take your meal outside if it's nice out. The courtyard is decorated in a funky yet tranquil way, and the staff are friendly. As it becomes popular during lunch hour, there may be a line and the small serving area can become crowded.

But when you are in Sweden, sometimes you could unexpectedly went to a vegan cafe and that's what Richard S and I did last time. I didn't see the word "vegan" until last minute and that when I was already desperate for some coffee and cake because I hadn't had proper breakfast and lunch at our Malmö office. Gimme a cake, I said (well, not exactly that), and I got chocolate brownies with mocha and a cortado, while he got some peanut butter pie with lingonberries on top (so Swedish) and vanilla sauce with black coffee. My brownie felt massive without egg. It felt like a block of brick to me, but I ain't complaining since I was hungry and the brick consistence was actually very filling. Again, it wasn't bad and it was very chocolate-y, just not in the moisty sense that a brownie should be. The peanut butter pie was VERY SWEET and I am far from having sweet tooth, so you're warned now. I guess the lingonberries on top would give it nice sour twist for the pie along with vanilla sauce that even the cafe attendant warned that it didn't go well along with the pie (so, why did you serve it then?) Sorry, the two stars is for the fact that they're not serious about their own food. I didn't try their "thai stew with tofu and pakchoy - which I am pretty sure it could be super delicious since I'm fan of those two - but you don't serve a pie with a sauce that you yourself think that they don't match together, do you? I had no complaints about my brownies but still the carnivores in me would rather go to another cafe with milk and egg option. Service is ok, you could get refill for your black coffee and the place is decorated nicely that almost look like your grandmother's living room. Quite cozy, I suppose - but unless you're a vegan, I would say try go somewhere else

SO MUCH YES! Acacia is an all vegan place with a menu that changes constantly. I was SO excited to…read moretry this place when I heard it was opening. My expectations were extremely high (uh oh!) but it did not disappoint. It was impossible to choose just one item to get that I ended up ordering WAY too much food haha. My stomach was extremely happy though! Pictured is their "Buckwheat flour pancakes" with stem ginger ice cream, sweet fennel jam, blackberries, coconut yogurt creme, hazelnut crumble and black sesame seeds. So many flavors put into one and WOW it was incredible! Every bite was better than the one before. Definitely the downside of having a changing menu is that you won't always be able to get the same yummy food items again! I also tried their avo toast, super bowl and spiced apple waffles. The only one that I didn't absolutely love was the super bowl (black bean noodles, roasted butternut squash, grilled broccoli, avocado, shredded beetroot, pickled red onions, cucumber, spring onions, furikake, sweet sesame sauce). The flavors just weren't my favorite put together but my friend who also tried it absolutely loved it. The owner was so sweet as well and gave me a free small cheesecake to take with me home, and it was also super delicious! Highly recommend!

I had been dying to come here for months now and today I finally made the journey to Acacia. It's a…read morereally cute place with everything made to order. I was really digging the black, white, and marble aesthetic of this spot. There are two different types of hot chocolate available, 66% and 70%. I had no clue what these numbers meant (I assumed it just meant chocolate percentage but idk) so I just ordered a 66% and it tasted fine. I also got the waffles and despite it being gluten free and vegan it was really good and unlike any other waffle I've had before. The green herbs on top were totally unnecessary and didn't really go with the flavors of the otherwise pretty cool waffles. Oh....and they were BEAUTIFUL. It was VERY crowded, even for the middle of the day on a Thursday. Despite this not being the coffee shop vibe where I'd order and spend the rest of the day doing work here like I had hoped for, I'll probably still be back because I wanna try their pancakes and avo toast.
