I first came here a while back in pursuit of a USDA Prime steak. They routinely carry both Prime and certified Angus ribeyes and strips as well as other cuts of beef, poultry, and salmon. I have only had the steaks, and they are outstanding. The other cuts of meat appear to be of the highest quality. I have also tried their smoked salmon dip, which is excellent, and their chicken salad, which has boldly flavored chicken (grilled?) and is as good as any you will find anywhere. They also have an astounding array of refrigerated or frozen take-and-bake meals. I've not had any of them, but they look fabulous. So if you're looking for something to grill or a prepared meal for you and your family because you're sick of cooking during this time of stay home/isolate/quarantine, I would highly recommend Gate City Butcher Shoppe. If you are hunkered down and not leaving the house at all, then I highly recommend that you visit GCBS on the day the stay home order is lifted, e'er it come. P.S. I didn't see any brisket, so I asked the gal who greeted me, and the man cutting meat said there was some in the cooler behind him. The lady pulled two out, both nearly 11 lbs. I would have preferred 3-4 lbs., so I cut it in thirds when I got home. The ribs turned out really well smoked and braised, and the chops were probably the best I've had in long time slow-smoked and reverse-seared. Brisket is on the grill and looking good!

You can go straight to them, buy from them at the farmers market or they drop off weekly at various school and civic area's which is very convenient (one is our son's school)! They also supply the fresh produce for various restaurants in town such as Lucky 32's, Printworks and Green Valley Grille. I love to cook and it is awesome to have fresh produce to cook throughout the various seasons. In addition, they have their own cured meats and sausages which are very good in their own right.
