I have been ready for a detail job on my car for a while now.. I have looked at a bunch of places…read moreall over the area but the reviews seem to be hit or miss. Except Outstanding Car Detail. And....they come to you. I don't know how I feel about mobile detailing as it isn't necessary in this case. Let's give them a shot. I sent them my info on the website and Mack called within the hour to discuss my job, price, and availability. It all sounded good and could be done within the week. To my delight DJ was the detailer that showed up. I say this because he was called out by name on a few online reviews as having done a great job. After initial introductions and a little about what I was looking for, DJ got right to work. I showed him where the water spigot was and that I would be around if he needed anything. Not a lot of reaction about the water, which was odd, but he thanked me explaining that he would be here quite a while. I left DJ to do his work without a watching eye but I did check in from time to time. I couldn't get it off my mind that a hose never appeared and the driveway showed no sign of being wet. I finally asked DJ about this which is when he explained that they do waterless detail. Waterless was new to me. Never heard of such a thing. DJ educated me that today's cleaners have a high lubricity which allow them to capture the dirt and grime and safely remove it from the surface. I am all for technology but still had my concerns. I guess I am old school. A bucket of water with some soap and a hose just seems more efficient and effective. Oh well. I am open minded enough to let them do their thing. After about 4 hours DJ was done and ready for me to look things over. This proved to be tougher than it seems with sun in some areas and shade in others. I did my best knowing that my inspection would be inspected later by other eyes. I found some areas that needed some more attention and DJ was quick to take care of it. This was expected as another fresh set of eyes can see things that the first might have missed. After I thought we were good. I accepted the job, paid the bill, and DJ was on his way. I was happy. Hours later with different lighting and another set of eyes looking we found that things were missed. The wheels jumped right out to my wife as having some missed areas. It became apparent that the harder to see spots when the wheels were in one position were the noticeable areas when the wheel was in another. Shouldn't have been missed but it was clear to see why. The same goes for the grill and all the different area and angles it presents. I understand these are the harder areas to notice but after all this is called detailing and the quality is judged in the details. Over the next two days other small things were noticed. A spot on the head liner that needed more attention, a french fry under the seat that points to some missed vacuum attention. Small things present themselves over time. To be fair, I missed them in my inspection and I did accept the job. All in all, Outstanding Car Detailing did a good detail job. Do I prefer a soap and water wash and traditional wax? Yes! Do I prefer soap and water to be part of a shampoo job on my carpets, mats, and headliner? Yes!! In the future I will seek out the more traditional methods of detailing. It was nice having them come to me but it is not necessary and can be worked around to satisfy my personal opinions, preferences, and techniques. They make dry shampoo for your hair these days but I think we can all agree that the best thing to do is jump in a shower or bath and get wet with some water, the universal solvent.

Unfortunately, body shops aren't a business most people look forward to dealing with--usually it…read moremeans you've been in an accident and are bracing for headaches, often more from the insurance side than the shop itself. I've lived in the area for about 10 years and have used Hardin Valley Body Shop on a few occasions for myself and family. The work has always been excellent. This repair was different because it was on a pristine truck I bought new and kept in showroom condition--no scratches or blemishes prior to the wreck. I've attached before-and-after photos for reference. The results exceeded my expectations: the truck was restored not just to pre-accident condition, but to the same flawless state it was in the day I drove it off the lot. The repairs were precise, and the detailing was outstanding--every inch of the truck was immaculate. They could easily run a top-tier detail service on the side. The staff was professional, responsive, and genuinely customer-focused. It felt like they were working directly for me rather than just following insurance directives. If you're ever in need of collision repair in this area, Hardin Valley Collision is one of the best options you'll find--high-quality work, thorough attention to detail, and a helpful team. Highly recommended.

I took my Tesla to Harper Collision only because Tesla referred them as the local preferred body shop after road debris damage. The original work included windshield and headlight replacement plus repainting multiple areas. The windshield caused a major delay because Harper didn't open a ticket with Tesla to investigate the shipping issue until I specifically asked them to. When I finally went to pick up the car, I immediately noticed unrepaired damage along the sides before I even got in. I reported it to Amy, which led to another estimate, insurance supplement, and more paint work. The car also still had residue and debris from the repairs and hadn't been properly cleaned. Manager Austin later called and was extremely defensive, shifting responsibility onto me instead of simply acknowledging the missed damage. He even checked security footage to confirm I hadn't driven away before reporting it. During the second round of repairs, they accidentally broke my driver's side window. They said no local Tesla location had one in stock, so I called around myself, found two in Chattanooga, and offered to pick one up. They declined; a window was later overnighted from Nashville. When I picked the car up again the paint was about 99% acceptable, and I was too tired to keep fighting over the remaining imperfections. But the problems still weren't over. The driver's door speaker hadn't been reinstalled correctly and was rattling, so I had to take it back in. On the drive home I discovered the cameras hadn't been properly calibrated, which affected the driver-assistance features and nearly caused an accident. Back to Harper again after that visit they returned the car still in Service Mode. I still occasionally hear what sounds like broken glass rattling inside the driver's door (presumably from the window they broke). At this point I'm too exhausted to take it back again. I would not recommend Harper Collision and will never trust them with another vehicle.
