I often walk down from our home near by to see the horses and ponies with my son. It is free to go in, but donations are welcome. I often put a few pounds in each and buy some carrots to feed the horses. It is a nice walk up hill alongside the fields that the ponies are in, so you can stop off and meet each one and share your carrots.
The horses are all lovely and you can tell they are in a great place where they are cared for very well. They are in the process of building extra stables and shelters and so any money from visiting is going to a great cause.
They have a table sale on the last sunday, might be first???? but check the website of every month. They sell off donated items to raise much needed funds to care for these wonderful animals. They also offer special pony days where your child can go learn what it involves to take care of a pony.
Details can be found on there website and also on the notice board that is on the wall at the shelter.
Worth visiting, a good cheap way to interact with ponies and make a difference at the same time. read more
