I'd recommend this for a date, solo afternoon, or when you have visitors in town. My biggest tip would be to check the special exhibitions before your visit since they can be a major highlight. Definitely one of Atlanta's gems.

My fiancée and I signed up for one of the sculpting classes, which are comparably reasonable in price. Courses are 10 weeks long and are offered several times a week. For $250 you are provide one bag of clay, all tools, glaze, burning, an instructor, and light appetizers. if you need an extra bag of clay for your projects the price is $12 per bag. Again, reasonably priced.

Very diverse and traditionally artsy folks... with some hipsters and regulars mixed in. It was a little too crowded though, they had a cash bar with beer only. Beer? Beer? Really though... a little Trader Joe's wine would have went a long way. THE ART was cool. One artist created prints using the word "word". Another merged body parts in symmetry creating a landscape via ink/pen. These seem to be those independent do what I want, I think this would be cool art school kinda artist if that makes any sense. You know the kids who dye there hair blue or pink or purple... thats this crowd. Prices for art was in the $3000 range on average for the bigger works. I may have saw a few pieces that were a couple hundred (lets say $300ish range) Overall, good vibes, cool art, interesting people, huge crowd, nice space... I'll probably always give art galleries no less than a 4 even if I wanted to.

Now…read moreI've been to music museums before but this was different, especially with present day artists, most are still living and I am familiar with some of their music. I definitely learned a lot about the Atlanta and South music landscape. Could not leave without taking a picture of the famous pink car. Before leaving I also had the opportunity to do the escape room and baby that was an experience like none other. The entire experience includes a tour guide and he did not come to play with us. Lots of fun and puzzles to figure out. I am not sure if we made it out safely or not but I had a few good laughs. I would definitely recommend if you're into music and leaning about the culture.

Millennium Gate Museum was a complete waste of time and money on our most recent trip to Atlanta…read more Coming from Tennessee, I felt this would be a unique and similar experience to the Parthenon Replica in Nashville complete with curated exhibits, art galleries, statues, and a park. However, the entire experience was lacking and felt like a dated, run down tourist trap. Upon arrival the actual monument is beautiful. The park is pretty and has nice views of the city. We paid for admission to the museum which is $12 for General Admission and $10 for Students. Even with the student discount, this felt like an overreach for what we got out of the experience. There was only one worker and there were no other patrons in the museum this day AT ALL. It was very quiet and awkward. The indoor galleries consisted primarily of a long hallway with antique furniture with pictures of random people from Atlanta. The gallery was primarily pictures (that I could see online for free) with descriptions and did not contain many actual artifacts or items to look at. The few cases had weird assortments of items such as plates, buttons, and kitchen utensils. It felt like I was looking through the remains of a yard sale, with many items not even having descriptions. Overall the exhibit did not feel very curated, but rather felt like an odd assortment of someone's old junk put on display. We were unable to see the rooftop conservatory that was advertised online with pretty views of the parks. I feel this should be excluded from the website and marketing for General Admission if it is not accessible and staffed properly. The outdoor spaces are pretty; however, these could be visited for free outside of museum admission and did not require payment. Overall the entire museum took approximately 20 minutes to walk through, and left us feeling scammed. It was awkward walking past the one worker after we quickly walked through what little the museum had to offer. I would not recommend this to anyone and will skip this on our next trip to Atlanta.

It piqued and I decided to take a closer look and it turned out to be a history museum! I wandered in and it was deserted so was unsure of how it was going to be. It turned out to be a beautiful but small museum with a lot of interesting artifacts from Georgia/US history, WWII and also has fragments from the Bodmer Papyrus (worth Googling) There were also a lot of moving letters on display about a board member who had recently passed, Asa Candler VI (descendant of the Coco-Cola founder). Based on the letters, he was a truly wonderful man who had an amazing life and touched a lot of people positively. Condolences to the family.

My only previous experience with the gallery has been annoyance at the 2 prime reserved spots they've got in the Octane parking lot. Yes, they deserve these spots, but when I'm lugging a giant ancient computer and feeling lazy, I have certainly shaken my fist at them before. The space itself is beautiful, and quite fitting for Corinne's oversized work. There is one main room that is large enough that you can appreciate each piece individually but yet intimate enough to see everything as a whole collection. There's also a small room at the front which is a great spot for smaller pieces, as there's not enough room to really step back and see something big, but it has great light. This isn't a gallery I'd necessarily recommend for private events (they don't have nice bathrooms or the right layout like spots like Kai Lin) but it's definitely worth a spot, or at least a peek in the windows to see what great local artist they may be featuring.

This is an artist dream. They have probably whatever you need for whichever medium your craft is. My gentleman friend took me on Valentine's Day and I found a fluorescent pink 7mm mechanical pencil. I never knew I needed a pencil so badly. They carry the Ferris Wheel Press inks and a few others but I can't remember the name. Most of the inks cost the same as they would online but you don't have to pay shipping and you can view the swatches to get a good idea of the color you're buying. So happy businesses like this still thrive in Atlanta
