I'm gonna be honest, this was one of my must sees while in town. I definitely counted it as one of my sites while walking around. That is when I had a few free minutes to myself.
I could definitely say that this is a touristy part of town. Other nearby attraction include the Centennial Olympic Park and SkyView Atlanta. But if you are coming down Andrew Young International Blvd it is a picturesque welcome gate to the park. Framed by the buildings and streets, perfectly reminding you that Atlanta is part of Olympic history.
Built in conjunction with Centennial Olympic Park which was completed by July of 1996. Just in time for the Olympic Games. Refurbished in 2016 which added a big stone monument behind it stating the such. Gave it a refresh that makes it more welcoming.
When I was here, it was after the FIFA celebrations. In my one picture you can see the FIFA football way behind and framed by the rings.
Definitely a stop, take some pictures, and take in some history type of spot. read more
