Fix Long Beach Pets - Day 2 after surgery

Thankfully, my girlfriend found Fix Parvo ICU, and from the very beginning, they exceeded every expectation we had. Connie and Sherri were incredibly attentive, compassionate, and loving toward our fur baby. We received daily updates through text, including videos and detailed explanations of her condition and progress, which gave us so much peace of mind. One thing that truly stood out was the care they took with her feeding. Instead of immediately resorting to a feeding tube--which can be uncomfortable and increase the risk of infection--they patiently hand-fed her every day and offered different food options to help stimulate her appetite. They went above and beyond to ensure her comfort. Her blankets were changed and cleaned multiple times a day, and she was always kept in a clean, calm environment. What meant the most to us was being able to visit her every day. Those visits clearly lifted her spirits and reassured her that she wasn't alone or abandoned. Connie's energy is truly special--it radiates throughout the space and onto the dogs. Every time we visited, the facility was spotless, and she even saged to help clear and calm the energy. She took the time to explain the healing process thoroughly and made us feel confident and at ease knowing our fur baby was in the best possible hands. I am eternally grateful to Connie and Sherri. If I could give more stars, I absolutely would. I hope no pet parent ever has to experience Parvo--it is terrifying--but if you do, Fix Parvo ICU is without question the place to go. Thank you, Connie and Sherri, from the bottom of my heart. We are forever grateful.

I want to be very clear based on my experience, I do not recommend this clinic. I have never met or dealt with Sherri in person during my dog's care, yet she continues to email me presenting herself in a position of authority. From what I have been able to determine, she does not appear to be the owner, which raises serious concerns about who is actually responsible for this clinic. I also have strong concerns about whether Dr. Andrew Cabrera had the appropriate experience to perform the type of surgery my dog received, as my dog is still not recovering properly and continues to be in pain. I have had to seek care from another specialist at my own expense. My experience has included: Ongoing back-and-forth emails with no resolution Difficulty obtaining complete medical records and X-rays Struggles getting medication support Lack of accountability and follow-up care In addition, I have seen other public reviews from customers reporting serious issues, including problems with refunds and lack of follow-through, which is extremely concerning. Because of everything I've experienced, I strongly urge others to avoid this clinic and proceed with extreme caution before giving them any money. If anyone has had a similar experience, you are welcome to reach out to me. What should have been a routine procedure has turned into a stressful, costly, and ongoing situation. I am continuing to take further action and will update as things progress.

It really helped regulate my nervous system And I very much appreciated. Franz and the way he helped guide beginners. What I did not appreciate was a woman who was also a beginner and craved support on an almost competitive level. She was very much attended to and a bit of a trauma dumper. I left for a while because of her, she just kept showing up in my space, but that was my choice to leave. Fast forward to the pandemic I did try to rejoin online and I was met with that same woman who I did try to extend an Olive branch to, since she was struggling and kept "showing up". She was the same trauma dumper, yet didn't remember me. But something that came to light is that I was not allowed to join the book group that she had created. As I got better, I thought about going back in spite of this woman, but then I saw that she is part of faculty Ultimately I decided that a group that would support someone with that behavior, in the way that they did is not the right group for me. I probably should have and I thought about contacting leaders in this group, but at that time, my nervous system was not in a place to defend myself and it's somehow felt small and petty. Better to let her have her way. However, six years later, I see that this is not the Buddhist way, which is the way they follow. I was not shown loving kindness in a time when I really needed it.

Most programs are donation based but they also offer fee-based retreats where you can apply for a scholarship. The facilities are clean and inviting. They serve cold and hot water for tea. You don't need to bring any sitting gear (though you can) as they provide cushions, benches, and chairs. LBM also offers classes online which is super convenient! The community is so welcoming. If you're looking to learn how to meditate or you already have a practice but you want to sit with other people, try one of their classes. I can't recommend this place enough. It has changed my life!

The calm and focus the practice provides sets my tone for the week. I've tried yoga a bunch of times but the static poses weren't for me. And sitting still to meditate doesn't work for me either. Tai chi is like a moving meditation that allows me to tune out the world and my thoughts (or at least keep trying to--it's a practice). At first, it seemed like a lot to learn, but Angie breaks down the movements step by step and reminds us that "any movement is good movement" in case people are still learning. I used to park myself right behind one of the regulars and follow him, and now I'm one of those regulars myself Even though I've been coming for years, I still find new subtleties in different parts of the form. It has also given me great balance, better than I've ever had in my life. I once took a tai chi course that met inside and was very technically precise. I so much prefer doing it outside in the park. Sometimes I wish for specific critique of my form but we do get that during the periodic intermediate/advanced classes she offers. There are generally anywhere from 25-50 people at a session. It's donation based (cash or Venmo), so free if you want to just check it out. I always give because it's so worth it to me.
