As a school Principal myself of a world renown private and international school in Manhattan, my search was guided by the expectations a great elementary school would have in order to accept our daughter after her preschool years: students with a good academic foundation but also with great character learning attributes. A well rounded students is not only capable to demonstrate competencies but has also grown a mindset as an open minded, caring, risk taker, curious, inquirer, principled student. I have visited all the preschools in Freehold and collected as much data as I could. It was evident for me that Freehold Montessori was going to be the school for our daughter which will support her in her growth and future success. The reason was simple: Freehold Montessori school was the only school which has been able to demonstrate its learning goals for 3 years of education. All the other preschools I have visited were explaining how my daughter 's day to day life would look like but they failed to show me the process she will go through. I did not want a school for day activities, I wanted a school with a curriculum, with learning goals and with a vision demonstrating which student they are aiming to develop in my daughter, following which curriculum and process. I was impressed by how Freehold Montessori was able to present this process and how they delivered their promises. Three years later, my daughter is going to join my school in Manhattan. And as any parent of a student who hopes to enroll in our school, I have followed the same process for my daughter. Principled, I would never asked any privilege because I am the school principal. She has been through the assessment process, the interviews, the tests, etc... and she did beautifully. She did not need in any ways my support to get in, she got in as she has grown to be ready for this new chapter in her life thanks to the dedicated, thoughtful, responsible and professional Freehold Montessori Team. My advice to any parent who is looking for a school in Freehold: don't let the fresh paint or the state of the art technology guide your choice. Talk to the teachers, talk to the principal and question their vision for your child and the process they will follow. This is what matter. The rest is sparkles in the eyes!

Overall, my wife and I were very happy with this facility and if it were still practical to send our son there, we would. As with any new parents, we were very nervous about picking a daycare as everyone has a horror story. Two things stand out about LB of Freehold which ultimately eased our concerns: 1) The owners care. From day one Vita and Nicole were incredibly welcoming and professional. Not a day went by where we were not met with a friendly greeting. If there was a concern, they were always receptive and willing to set aside time to listen and take action when necessary. 2) The facility was modern (opened around 2015) and very clean. Every night each classroom along with all the toys were cleaned and disinfected. Did our son get sick? Yes, of course he did, it's daycare, but it was not excessive and was not a result of the facility being dirty (I'll hold the commentary on parents dropping off kids that are already sick). The teachers my son had (Infants / mobile infants /1.5-2.5 years) were great. All cared and all were in control of their classrooms and there was no turnover during my son's tenure (Ms Meryl in the infant room was incredibly caring and really helped our sons transition to DC). The owners made good hires. Some turnover was noted at the teacher aide level, but that is to be expected. Finally, and most importantly our son enjoyed being there. He never protested going in the morning and was always happy when we picked him up. Being around other kids on a daily basis has helped him develop socially. This is evident when I see him around other toddlers who have not spent time with their peers. If you have reasonable expectations, this is a great daycare and I would recommend to anyone looking in the Freehold area.
