Under new ownership and management, Hop Shing in Fleming Island is still my go-to for local, delicious, reasonably priced Chinese fast food options. The service is fast and ultra friendly! Most of the time, I call in my order and it's ready in 10 minutes. They also accept special request for low sodium, no sodium and specialty items if asked. Absolutely love the General Tso's Tofu or Chicken. Easy location and they are very generous with portions. Sometimes I'll choose to eat-in and the atmosphere is casual and pleasant. read more

We ordered delivery from here twice this week. We have been trying to find a place that had consistent and delicious food. So far we have tried sweet and sour chicken, chicken fried rice, hunan chicken, Mongolian beef, hot and sour soup, crab Rangoon, and fried dumplings. The only thing we would not order again are the dumplings. Everything else has been better than expected. To be fair, our expectations were fairly low because of not great Asian experiences elsewhere. I would give this place 3 stars, my husband 4.5 so we settled on 4 for the review. Food was packaged well and hot. Mongolian beef was my fave. Hunan chicken had some weird beans I didn't love but otherwise the flavor was good. Definitely will order again. read more

Like their menu & food. They no longer deliver. That hurts. The egg rolls & fried rice are mostly my favorite. read more

I thought I wanted sushi until I pulled up to Hop Shing in Fleming Island. Their food selection is amazing. Their customer service is above standard. When you walk in the small restaurant, you are greeted with a very cheerful "hello" and an authentic smile. With such a very inviting atmosphere, one can't help but feel the positive vibes. Prices are comparable to other places, but the inviting personality at the counter is unmatched. While I have ordered almost their entire menu over the years, I enjoy their fried chicken wings, Dragon Phoenix, and mixed vegetables with shrimp. Their servings are very generous. I come here often and will continue to support this place. read more

Hop Shing - general tso's chicken - Chinese Near Me - Fleming Island, Florida

Best chinese takeout in Fleming island/clay that I've tried! Efficient timing and service

Hop Shing really feels like part of the family lol. We have been ordering from here for over a decade (owch!) You never have to worry about coming home and finding something miss or anything wrong with your order. It's always hot and comes out super fast ! Always great specials and combos. It's a rarity nowadays. You always know you're getting something yummy ! For todays visit I opted to just get some apps. Hot and crispy ! Never soggy. Love the krab rangoons. Great filling and crunch ! I wasn't hungry enough for the combination entree so I got 2 egg rolls. Under 10 bucks to get your entree which includes rice of your choice and a yummy egg roll ! read more

Thought it was time to try a new Chinese place since I'm pretty picky and been ordering at the same place for years. My daughter said this one was good as she ate here all the time so thought I would give a try. I ordered the chicken LoMein with no vegetables and it was pretty tasty.. not dry. Also had the chicken on a Stick. got 4 of them for 5 bucks . They were okay..needed some sauce maybe.. I ended with sweet-and-sour chicken with rice and it was consistent. I would feel okay with ordering from here again and they were pretty busy so that's a good sign. read more

I was really looking forward to Beef Chow Foon for dinner. When I asked if they served it, I was told they call it Mei Fun. Far from what I was expecting. I wanted the thick, wide, beefy noodles with brown sauce. When I got hope and opened my meal, it was angel hair pasta with a light, clear sauce. Not at all what I wanted. If I knew this is what she was selling me as Chow Foon, I would have ordered something else and this review would be totally different. Sorry Hop Shing, but you misled me. I did not enjoy my meal and will not return. Too many other options out there to make this mistake again. read more

Always a pleasure. Fast friendly service. Cashew chicken is good. Their base sauce is very good. Pieces are cut just right and a variety of vegetables. Try them! read more

this place is always great. They will also throw in an order of sweet rolls/doughnuts every now and then with really big orders!!

Food was good but not good enough to drive from my home past 4 other places that are just as good or better.

We are new to the area and love Chinese food. Have tried several restaurants for take out an Hop Shing is by far the very best. Food always hot fresh and delicious! read more

I can't believe this place only has 37 reviews, I eat here almost once a week. I lf you are looking for solid traditional Chinese takeout, this is pretty much where I choose to go locally. read more

Everything was five stars- from the gentleman who took my order accurately, the cook who ensured everything was cooked perfectly and the delivery woman was very sweet and got the food to me so quickly that the food was still hot and the bottled drink was still cold! read more

Always great Chinese food. I particularly like their steam dumplings, they are not the common store-bought and re-steamed type they are handmade. All the other food from there has been very good as well. read more

Very disappointed. Only went here because Hot Wok was closed. Hot and sour soup lacked flavor, worst dumplings, chicken teriyaki and cream cheese wontons passable. read more

This is some of the BEST Chinese food I've ever had. Great to go service, fast and friendly. We have been back several times and each time we have tried new stuff, all of it was fresh and super tasty. The lo mein is a game changer with the fresh veggies in it! Overall this is the place for Chinese food takeout. read more

My sister ordered there and got maggots in her shrimp. I would share the picture but it made me dry heave. Their response was that it happens from time to time. read more

I was just looking for something quick for lunch and a coworker suggested Chinese. We stopped in here on a whim (it was nearby). The employees were friendly and the food was good (not spectacular but definitely on par with most places). The value for the money was extremely fair and I would come back. I would call ahead in the future as it took a while to get our food. But everything was made fresh. read more

Maybe it's the pregnancy taste buds but this was some of the best lo mein I think I've ever had. It came out super hot and was so good and saucy. Definitely will be back for more. read more

Very good. Very nice owners food was great fast and easy food is always fresh and reasonably priced

Kind of bland chicken lo mein but very fresh. The egg drop was really watery too but it tasted great. The lunch specials here are cheap! There isn't any air conditioner in this place or they refuse to use it. Even on a mild day at 80 degrees it was way too hot in here. read more

I ate there today at around 12:45pm. I was one of only two customer in the restaurant. I ordered the sweet and sour chicken with fried rice lunch plate and a small order of vegetable lomein. The chicken was dry and tough. The lomein was so salty I couldn't eat it and the rice was undercooked and almost crunchy. The whole meal was terrible. I have lived in the area for 12 years and I have been a Hop Shing customer regularly over that time. They used to be one of the best Asian restaurants we had on the island. I have noticed a decline in their quality over the past couple of years but have continued to give them chances. Today was the worst experience though, so I guess I am done with them. It's really too bad. I'd like to add that their dining room was very hot and uncomfortable for dining in. It is also very aged and run down in appearance. read more

Always the best little Asian spot. Food is bomb and I always love coming by when in town.

Local. Best on island. Not amazing but it's consistant. Shrimp egg rolls good Crab Rangoon good Chicken on dishes that aren't fried have a rubbery texture.they are ok w modifying recipes They deliver They are nice Dine in is not recommended. Sticky tables and only 3 tables. Get to go or delivery Soups good read more

I can only guess that from the other reviews that this place must of been having a BAD night. The staff was fast & friendly but that's where good experience ended. The food was completely inedible. spring roll had grease literally dripping from it. The vegetable lo mein noodles were over cooked, gummy and hardly had any vegetables in it. Beef & broccoli was over sauced and rice had 0 flavor. read more

This is my favorite Chinese food takeout establishment. I was jonesing for some House special fried rice which is very good and not oily. I also ordered some steamed dumplings and some Wonton soup I normally get the shrimp lo mein but it's rather filling so I stuck with the rice. Prices are good, the food is fresh and a service very good. read more

Living in Fleming Island over 24 years This place was my go to for Chinese take out. Good food. Good price/ value for the $. Last couple of years going Down in quality . Beef & broccoli always my main pick. Terrible now. And this was way before Covid. So don't use that excuse. Recently gave it one more try. Worse ever. I called restaurant, so much apathy, with an attitude. I will Never get them again. Save your $. Go somewhere else!!!!! read more

I've both picked up my meal and had it delivered. I like that they have delivery. I've ordered their steamed dumplings and sesame chicken. The dumplings are delicious. You get 8 per order. I think they are filled with pork. The sesame chicken is good. I like sesame chicken with less sauce as it can tend to be too sweet. The chicken was cooked well and quite tender. TIP: Don't rely on Apple Maps to find this place. It's not really on Hwy 17. It's in the Publix plaza on Hwy 220. read more

Worse Chinese food I've ever had! The food stunk up the car and the house with very old fried oil smell! Had teriyaki chicken that didn't have much of a flavor except old fried oil and the rice wasn't any better. I stopped eating it after two bites and ate my leftover soup in the refrigerator. Can't imagine how they are staying in business. read more

First time we ordered from here after a long road trip, hands down the best we have had in Fleming Island. This shall be the only takeout we order from now on. The food was fresh and hot, and most important, delicious! Thank you! read more

I have been working out in Fleming Island the past few months and this was a great place to stop in at. Right in the heart of shopping area and fantastic food. I base my opinion of Chinese restaurants off of their Lo Mein and this one does it right. You can not ask for much better. I have not had New York style Lo Mein but if it is anything like this than I am a huge fan. I have tried several other menu items but nothing ever during the slower hours. I have only eaten here during the lunch hours and it is where you want to go for Chinese. read more

Apparently the only vegetable they have is onion. A grand total of 5 shrimp in the hot and spicy shrimp combo, along with a full cup of diced onion and weird flavorless red sauce. Eggroll was bland and greasy like maybe yesterday's leftovers. Beef egg foo young was scorched on the bottom, packed with onion, no other vegetables in it. The gravy was good. There are several other Chinese take out places within a 1 mile radius. $18 never again. read more

Great food friendly service everything is made to order from scratch I love it this is my go to place other than the silo shop which I love both of these places they are so delicious you can't go wrong here!!!! Fast service clean place they do to go in there always ready when I get there read more

This used to be my go to Chinese take-out, but food quality has gone down hill recently. Service is not great anymore either: the last time we visited we got home and realized we were missing some items, we called and they were basically like "oh well." I was at someone else's house and they ordered from Hop Shing, I made myself a plate but nothing was worth the caloric consumption. read more
