Last time we were here we had a fine experience. This time was really bad. We'll probably go to a different location next time. We were greeted promptly and asked for a booth. I overheard the hostess mumble about someone being pissed and said she had just sat 2 booths before us. We were seated in a booth as requested and a waitress came over to tell us she was not our waitress but was helping ours out and would take our drink orders. I then understood our waitress had just had 3 tables in a row sat in her section. BF ordered Dr Pepper and I ordered their standard margarita on the rocks, without salt (forget the exact name). What seemed like a long time went by, and our server came by with our drinks. My margarita was red. This seemed wrong. I told her so, and showed her what drink I ordered in the menu, but she did not have the knowledge of the menu to know if it was wrong or not. She went to ask the bartender and came back to tell me it was what I ordered. I again told her a regular margarita is not red, and it appears some flavoring was added (you could make it berry, strawberry, etc. for an extra charge). She seemed exasperated, not at us, but because she was busy, someone else had taken our order, and the bartender did not make the drink correctly. We put in an order for fried pickles (to come out first), hot buffalo shrimp with extra blue cheese, and an order of samurai flavored wings and fries with ranch. When my server brought a correctly made margarita, it was so gross I couldn't drink it. It was super sweet and tasted like a disgusting, cheap margarita mix. I felt badly telling our server but did so nicely and asked for a water. When I got the water, it had a weak lemon flavor, like it had come out of the same dispenser as lemonade. So gross, I couldn't drink that either. Our appetizer and meals all came out at once. It is a huge pet peeve of mine when a server does not know how to properly time food, and even then, didn't seem to realize her error in bringing everything out at once! I did not get an extra blue cheese, even though later we were charged for it. My boyfriend did not get ranch either. The fried pickles were okay and were a huge portion. Buffalo shrimp were awesome and I wish I'd ordered more. Fries were good, wings were okay too. I could see our server was having trouble with most of her tables, and she was really busy. I think it was really the kitchen and bartender's fault, and they were not setting her up for success. While we were there, we observed the bartender sitting on the bartop, leaning over a man sitting at the bar, along with another waitress. I never actually saw her make a drink. Imagine my surprise when the man sitting at the bar being hung on by the employees was actually the manager! When he was called to a table to address a food issue, it didn't look as if he properly handled the issue. My margarita was removed from the bill but the manager never came by to address the issue with us. I left a nice tip because I think our server was probably competent at serving food and was just having a bad night. read more

I work in the service industry and I never thought I would do this but I'm leaving my first negative review. 1. We walked in, it was very slow. Maybe 15 people in the building. No one greeted us so we sat ourselves at a table and waited for 10 minutes until I finally stopped a waitress (Sarah) who said she was the waitress for our table. (She had walked by multiple times) 2. She took our drink and food order at the same time we ordered crab legs, shrimp, crawfish, and wings as an app. 3. Our appetizer came out an hour later (I checked the time because I had texted a friend when we sat at our table. When I asked her when the rest of our food would come out she said the cooks had been in the bathroom for twenty minutes so she did not know. WHAT. 4. Later another person in the restaurant informed us that the kitchen staff had ACTUALLY walked out and that's why we hadn't gotten our food. 5. When I told our waitress that we had to go and we had been there for an hour and a half without food she brought our tab and said " wow I'm surprised the manager took off all the food I didn't expect her to do that" lol well I didn't expect to come into a restaurant and sit for an hour and a half without food. I don't think she said more than three words to us or even checked on us once. Nor did she apologize or attempt to explain why we waited so long to be greeted or get food. It was a really nice place to stop and grab lunch, and wasn't ridiculously crowded during the lunch hour. I was excited to be able to nab a table and not have to wait to grab some wings. I love their Wingsday (wednesday) special of $5.99 for 10 boneless wings, fries and a drink. Can't beat that!! Only odd thing is that there were a lot of families here, with small kids. This is a very poorly run Hooters and is not good. I've been going to Hooters for years. When I think of Hooters, I think of good food, cold draught beer, and friendly staff. However, this location is far from any of that. We visited yesterday to watch the Dallas Stars game. We arrived around 6:45 and there were about 10 tables occupied so they were at about 25% full. First of all, there were lots of dirty tables with dishes on them that hadn't been cleaned. I used the men's room and it smelled really bad like there was a sewage backup. When ordering beer, most of the beer taps weren't working. I ordered Stella and it tasted old, so I had to send it back and ordered bottled beer (which they were out of a lot of those selections also). My water was never refilled in the 1.5 hours we were there. After waiting for 30+ minutes for our food a nice manager came over and told us that our ticket had been lost in the kitchen and that they would begin making our food now. The fried pickles were amazing but the rest of the food was not good. The chicken was overcooked and tough. And the buns on the sliders I ordered were burned and black on the bottom of them. And we never received the side of French fries that we ordered. The waitress got our missing French fries removed from our bill as well as the Stella that I didn't drink because it tasted old. I will say that the really nice manager did come back to check on us after we had already paid and apologized for our experience. However, something needs to be done at this location. Even the waitress commented that the food wasn't good and that there was no excuse for our service that day. Bottom line, this place is dirty, the service isn't good, and the food is way below Hooters standards. Although I had leaving feedback like this, if it's not said, it will never change. read more

So disappointed in this location. We placed an order online and when I arrived there was no curbside service and I had to go in. I had made sure to arrive a few minutes past my pick up time so I thought I wouldn't be inside long. When I got inside there were many people crowded around the wait stand either waiting to pick up orders or be seated. Many were not masked. After I located the hostess she indicated that my order was not ready yet and it would be five minutes. I waited another 25 minutes. They were practicing social distancing for the dining tables which was good to see and I was able to find a space far away from everyone waiting around the doorway to wait. When the order was finally ready I made sure to check everything before I left the premises I noticed that they did not include any of the sauces so I did ask for those. Unfortunately when I arrived home I noticed that some of the food we ordered was very greasy like it had not even been drained from the fryer. There were a couple of other things I was concerned about while in the restaurant which was the fact that I saw at least one of the cooks not wearing any type of mask and noticed that the wait staff who did have masks didn't always have them on properly. I did happen to observe them wiping down the tables and chairs quite often and they were doing their best to space people out far apart who were dining in, so that was good to see. We don't eat at Hooters often and I hate to say that it will be a long time before I order to go there again. read more

Came here tonight just before 10pm the place had about a dozen customer in it including myself and my boyfriend. We sT at the bar and my boyfriend ordered a beer and a jagger which was first served with a salt rim and the second pour was chilled he didn't ask for either of those unusual presentations. And our food was left in the service window for a long while the entire meal which we had ordered 6 different items from the kitchen. My boyfriend did get up and attempt to get the plates himself bat one point but was stopped by the staff. One of the meals I ordered was over cooked but cold and you could taste the freezer burn The only thing we like was the mixed drinks/beer and wings. Food probably would have been better if the bartender was eating cake with her little boyfriend. This place was filthy! The bar was dirty. Even after people were gone they had not cleaned it. The entire bar! Not just one spot. The bathroom was dirty and smelled like sewage. It's a Hooters. You know it and you either like them or you don't. I don't go that often, and I've never even set foot in the one here in Denton and I'm living here three years. I was out getting a little "wind therapy" also known as, on the motorcycle. I took a chance and went to visit a friend in McKinney. So I met up with him and suggested lunch at his favorite place. I've been to this location many times and pretty much all of them with him. I used to work with him on the house he now lives in and he'd occasionally take me out for lunch or dinner and most of the times it was here. I haven't been to this Hooters in a few years now. We got there later in the afternoon and it was quiet. We sat down and waited, and waited, and waited, and waited some more. And that was just to get our drink order. Our server eventually showed up. She'd been chatting up some regulars and didn't bother to make her way over. As I said the place was quiet. There were five people at the bar and maybe a total of seven or eight sitting at tables and the two servers and a manager. She made her way over, took our drink and food order and was off. In all the years I've been to Hooters, I've never had a burger there. So I went with a patty melt with bacon, caramelized onions and something called Daytona sauce. Apparently, Hooters has added several new sauces to the mix. I was always partial to the Bentley sauce. It's one of the hottest they have, but, for me, not too hot. Got the food and the burger was pretty good. I would have liked it a bit rarer but it tasted good and of course bacon makes it all better. As for the Daytona sauce? I ordered the MVP Bundle (with fried pickles and big dipper fries) an also a side of curly fries. 1st issue is that with to go orders they are just set on a table and not under a heat lamp to ensure the food stays warm. So by the time you get it home everything is cold. 2nd issue was that I realized I was short the big dipper fries and went back in to get it corrected. An as you can see from the picture, they obviously use them as a sort of currency. Since there was barely any in the container. I would have made a bigger deal about it but, if you notice an error and this is the remedy for it. Who knows what would have been done to the fries as further retaliation. I go to 5 Hooters in the DFW Metroplex on a regular basis. 1. Addison - Always Consistent Service and Food 2. Plano - Always Consistent Service and Food 3. Frisco - Sometimes inconsistent on the Service and Food but mostly Good 4. West End - Service was Good and Food Good on last visit, just not enough visits to move up 5. McKinney - 1 out of 4 times Good Service, the rest of the time terrible service. Food is 50/50 I would rank them in exactly that order. Which may be somewhat unfair because I have been to the Hooters in Addison roughly 15 times in 2017, the Plano Hooters 8 times, the Frisco Hooters 8 times and the West End Hooters only 1 time, the McKinney Hooters 4 times, all in 2017. Frankly, the McKinney Hooters is not a close 5th to the other 4 area Hooters Restaurants. On Saturday, August 19th at approximately 7:30 P.M. we went to the McKinney Hooters. The Hostess was flirting with 2 men when we walked in to the Restaurant. She didn't even notice we had come in the front door, she was too busy punching one of the guys repeatedly in the Stomach. We arrived about 7:30 and one of the Waitresses finally came over to tell the Hostess we had arrived. The Hostess came over to us and asked if we would mind waiting 45 minutes. I laughed and pointed to open Booths (There were 2 available), I also noted there were Tables (There were 2 Available) and there were roughly 6 spots at the bar from my quick scan of the situation. I stated to the Hostess we want a booth and pointed in the direction of one that would be appropriate. I have never seen a manager on my 4 visits to the McKinney Hooters, I know the Managers in the Addison, Plano and Frisco stores, which is to say, I recognize them because they come by to make sure everything is ok during most of my visits. The McKinney Hooters is always slow on delivering food. This visit to Hooters was no Exception. When my date and I left, I noticed the Hostess ran over to our table and picked up the bill to check what Tip was left. It seems this Hooters goes out of it's way to give bad service and slow food delivery, however, I left a 22.3% tip which was Frankly a gift on this visit, but I don't believe in penalizing the Waitress because the Hostess is a bubble head and the Cook apparently can't figure out that it only takes 3 minutes to fry up a batch of wings not 15 minutes because my wings were Dry and brittle. I am usually at least a 30% tip person at Hooters, but given Cold/Brittle Wings (I do blame the waitress for Cold wings, they were left in the window too long after evisceration) along with Slow service, it took roughly 30+ minutes for our food to arrive. There are a number of better options in the McKinney area, I guess I will have to remember that next time. read more

We went today around 12:15 and sat down and ordered two wing plates and one fry. We waited nearly 45 minutes before a manager came by and asked how we were doing. We tell him about our food not being there after 45 minutes and we watch him go to the kitchen and figure out our order was missed because he sat there for 10 minutes and then brought our food . When it came time for our ticket he didn't offer to compensate us for our troubles and when told the waitress then he reluctantly offered 25 percent off. Anybody else have a really crappy experience at Hooters McKinney lately? I went to watch the Cowboys game after work - ordered Traditional Style breaded bone-in 3 Mile Island wings. There was no breading on them. I asked the waitperson if they were breaded and she said yes. I cut into one, and no there was no breading. I called over the manager and asked him if these were breaded and his response was "they're having trouble getting the breading to stick." And the sauce, it was like they ladled the sauce on one half and ignored the rest. Then I was given the wrong bill, and when I noticed it they charged a SECOND time to my card and told me the first charge should be credited back in 1 to five days. So I asked instead that they just credit my tab the first amount so I could only pay the difference. Nope, that isn't the way they do things. I've been going to Hooters regularly since the mid-80s, and have been to scores of them from all over the US. Updating my review. 10-4-2020 We came into Hooters McKinney to get some Daytona wings and a Buffalo Chicken Sandwich. Usually everything is awesome, OR it had been since the previous crappy experience I had, but tonight blew me away. Food was decent, fries were cold, chicken sandwhich was hard to bite through. We waited 15 minutes for a refill on plain ol' fountain drinks. Even then, our waitress came to the table and asked what we were drinking, her coworker came by and was giving her tip money at our table. They chatted for a minute then our waitress turned back around to us and said "Alright let me get those drinks".... and proceeds to go to another table and talk. That's great and all being social but really? She had just apologized for "having that big table and taking their order took so long" (it was 3 adults and 2 kids) then to turn around and still not bring our drinks back. Never asked how food was or if we needed anything. Had to ask for napkins, no silverware was ever provided. At this point we're bothered by it. It's my husband's birthday today and this was quite possibly the worst service we've had. We waited another 10 minutes after finishing our food before asking for our check, since no one was checking on us. Finally got check but handed over our credit card immediately, hoping to speed the process, and she takes the card and heads right on over to a table to take their order. 15 minutes longer and someone else brings our card and receipt to the table. They didn't care for our patronage. My husband just happens to like this particular wing sauce, and probably won't be visiting this location any longer. Umm... chicken was raw and manager explained the problem by declaring he was informed the store policy was to serve an inferior product with hopes that customers wouldn't notice nor complain. I'm not a big fan of traditional bar-style food but were excited to try Hooters for the first time since I've heard many good things about the chain. Me and my dad visited for the first time to watch an Olympics soccer game. They were prompt about seating us and changing the channel of the Tv to the one of our liking. We ordered buffalo chicken tacos with blue cheese sauce, beef sliders, their new style of wings with dry seasoning on it (cajun), and couple of alcoholic drinks. I ordered a grapefruit mule which they had to make it with ginger ale instead of ginger beer since they were out. It tasted very fruity and delicious but tasted very weak in alcohol (maybe because they used ginger ale instead). My dad ordered fruit sangria and it was much more bigger in size than my mule and tasted decent (but again, kinda weak). The food was a disappointment to me. Buffalo chicken in tacos were not coated with enough sauce and they didn't put enough blue cheese sauce that the whole thing tasted pretty bland. There weren't much pico in the tacos as well, they were just really skimpy on the sauce and filling in general. The wings which I believe are really difficult to mess up were bad. Although we did order them with dry seasoning, the wings them self were extremely dry and not pleasurable nor tasty to eat. I can't say anything about the sliders since I didn't have any. Overall I was pretty disappointed with their food especially their wings. I mean, wings are staple to bar food so they should at least get that right. I don't know if the food was bad for this location or it tastes like that at any Hooters location but I won't be coming back unless who ever I'm with really wants to eat here. I would MUCH rather prefer Chili's or Buffalo Wild Wings for the similar price and type of food and possibly better drinks. Another spot that plays sound for the Dallas Cowboys games. That's very important to me and plays a decent amount in my ratings. Not just that though, they have good drinks and their wings are also great. The curly fries with cheese sauce are delicious. They used to have smoked wings when we frequented this place for Cowboys games, but I don't show them on their online menu anymore. That's sad because they were really nice, even without sauce. Sometimes you have an issue getting them to change it to a game you want it on. I got yelled at by a guy who works there because I wanted to know what TV a game was going to be on. And once all their TVs were out... Was told it was due to a storm. Overall though, a great environment to watch the game. Will definitely be back for baseball season. read more

I have really tried to give this place a chance. This is my third time here and it's my last. When you come in, you have to wait atleast 10 minutes or more to even get noticed. Drinks take forever no matter how empty the place is. The wings always come out cold, and none of the food is ever hot. There are numerous dirty tables when we come. This is the second Hooters I've visited in recent months which I have felt compelled to write a review about. I totally get it, these chain restaurants aren't going anywhere, regardless of the negative reviews they receive. I guess I am only writing this review in order to make myself feel better. Just like the last Hooters I reviewed, I sat at the bar area and waited...and waited...and waited. The server completely ignored me. Walked the long way around me in order to avoid getting within earshot of me, it appeared. I made it 16 minutes before just getting up and leaving. I am now sitting at a place called The Brass Tap in Allen, which is about 5 minutes from this Hooters. The server here is hotter than a Hooters girl, plus I got the same beer I wanted when I was sitting around Hooters, only my server at The Brass Tap got it to me within about 1 minute of me walking in the door. Oh, yeah, the food is better too. If you're in McKinney, take the extra 5 minutes and skip Hooters and head on over to The Brass Tap. read more

If I could give -5 stars, I would. First of all, what's sad is I hold low expectations for Hooters. That being said, this location actually performed so much lower than my expectations and, therefore, warranted the negative review I am about to share. We went in on 5/29 at about 8:45/9 pm-ish. By "we" I am referring to myself, my 5 year old daughter, my sister-in-law (and former Hooter's girl) and her 5 & 7 year old kids. I wouldn't have picked this for myself, but my 5 year old nephew endured my daughters ballet recital and Hooter's is his favorite...he's a future heartbreaker that loves pretty girls. This is my condensed version of what transpired. Problem 1. We were sat immediately in a near-empty section but still waited 15 minutes for a server to come by just to get our drink order. Problem 2. Once we finally were able to order food, we waited for about 30 minutes and had to flag down our waitress to ask about our order, to which she replied that "oh, we ran out of wings and had to get some out of the freezer, so they should be finishing up soon"...I'm pretty sure that was code for she was too busy flirting with 2 guys at a table close to ours to put our order in. (She visited that table well over a dozen times and came by ours about 3-4 times total). Problem 3. She brought me the wrong flavor of wings, that were pretty close to room temperature. Chicken nuggets from chick-fil-a are about twice the size of what she brought me. They looked like the rejects from the bottom of the bag. Problem 4. I had ordered a to-go for my boyfriend, his order was supposed to be a size larger than mine, however, he got the same amount of sad little rejects as I got...more $ though, of course. Problem 5. Our check was incorrect and took her about 15 minutes to figure it out. We left at about 11:30pm! If I was a horrible human being, I wouldn't have even tipped her two cents. Sadly, I can't bring myself to do that to someone (I used to wait tables too). It was obvious we would've gotten better service had we been born with a certain male appendage. Spend a couple of extra bucks and go to Pluckers. The food and service there far surpass this hell-hole. read more
