Well I knew I was in trouble when I received a text from my buddy "Hey I am moving to the bar, I have been here 15 minutes at a high top and no one has even spoken to me yet". So you don't really expect much from Hooters right except cold beer but at a minimum, deliver the prepackaged, processed, previously frozen food hot. We kept it pretty simple, queso and chips, fried pickles, and wings. Pickles and queso were room temperature, no really, like cold to the touch. Wings were warm. The bartender was so nice that we just suffered through it. Eating cold queso is like eating wall paper paste and eating cold deep fried pickles is what I imagine eating a poker chip might be like. Hit or miss but typically a miss. Want good service obviously you don't go to hooters. My experience yesterday. I met some friends for lunch and a beer. Waitress cards me. Protocol I understand. I am moving so dmv cut a small portion of my license off and gave me a temporary and I kept original. Waitress informs me that wouldn't work she needed a Texas ID that isn't paper or cut. No problem! I have my LTC Texas ID. She then says let me ask my manager. Takes ALL three of my IDs to manager and comes back and says sorry can't serve you. I need a Texas ID. I respond back this is a Texas ID has my picture, my birthdate and matches my other two identifications. I'm 43 by the way!! (Important part of the story) Should play a huge role in figuring out if I'm under 21. I don't look anywhere close to 21! Have 3 Texas IDs and still refused to be served a beer because I don't have a Texas ID.... Unbelievable! The rest of my party from that point decided they would not order anymore beer. And would not be returning to this Hooters again. Ate and left. Won't be back. Oh, even had trouble getting refills on my Pepsi! And this was waitress was a "trainer" not a trainee but the one that trains other waitresses. Horrible. No common sense read more

Hooters use to be be my wings go to place but the have since fallen off. My wings are always warm and my fries they have to take back. I stop going. If I ever go back it's to have a drink with friends other than that, I am good on Hooters. By the way I have them four chances and each time was bad. Service was so bad that we take more than 10 minutes to get a beer, and the restaurant wasn't crowded, Few people inside. First we asked for a beer that was in the beer menu. After that, the waitress came to us saying that they didn't have that specific beer. So we chose for another one from the menu, and the same thing happened. After three times, we walked to the bar to check which beer they actually had. The wings I ordered took 30 minutes to be ready. Maryanne who is now a manager decided to discriminate against me (a former hooters girl who used to work along side her) and decided to kick me out and cut me off when everyone else at the table had the same amount of drinks as me( I only had 4) plus had fries , fried pickles and shrimp, when she began her shift. We had already been there for over 2 hrs when she decided to do this. Then she comes to the table and tells everyone they are cut off but only I have to leave. And if I didn't she would call the cops: she never liked me when I was employed there and took her bitterness out in solely me at the table when I go to hooters atleast once a week: never again will we take our business to this rundown restaurant. Also I would like to be explained as to why I was the only one getting kicked out for no reason. Complete harassment and I will be investigating and look at legal options for this unexplained and unacceptable behavior. read more

It took over an hour to get my food and when it came out they could have saved some time by throwing it directly in the trash. It gets two stars because it's Hooters. There are some attractive employees, some not so much. They have plenty of TV's and most of the employees are fairly cheerful. My last two experiences here have been pretty poor. Three weeks ago I ordered 20 naked, medium wings to go. When I got home with the wings, they were naked but with no sauce. Tonight I went in to make an order to go. I made the order for my family. Ten minutes later the bartender came back to me to tell me that they were out of hamburger patties and that I would need to change my order. I made changes and waited. Then I waited some more, and some more. An hour and ten minutes later the food wasn't ready. How hard is it to drop some wings and chicken strips into the fryer and make two caesar salads? I ended up leaving with no food and an hour and a half of my day wasted. Unfortunately, this location has lost my business. read more

I've been to Hooters all over this state and this location was hands down, the worst one we have ever been to. I don't know how you screw up the classic breaded hot wings but they did. The breading was awful and moist and didn't even taste what I expect from their hot sauce flavoring. Place was clean and restroom was spotless but restaurant was about 1/4 full on a Wednesday night and our service sucked. I think our waitress was having a bad day or she really didn't want to be there. I had a party of 6 and we all felt the cold shoulder. Sad thing is, the hostess had the same attitude so maybe they were all ticked off at the fact they were so slow. Either way, a change in attitude and energy would do wonders for that place. What they really lack here is teamwork. When presented with a large party the staff does not provide and is not given direction from management to work together to provide service. Ordered $40 worth of boneless wings to go. I was told on the phone the order would be ready in 15 minutes. It took 40. I opened the incredibly light containers to find that I had gotten tiny little bite size pieces of chicken that looked toddler size. Chick fi a nuggets were bigger than these so called "wings"!!! The Manager basically kicked us out by bringing the tab and offering us water after we had been there for 3 hours and only had a few beers. He said change of policy sorry and we left pretty disappointed. General Manager called us to basically reinstate what the other terrible manager had told us. Didn't even offer a refund or anything. Over the years, I have been to several locations including this one. We had been going here with contractor clients and I see no useful purpose here. I am not an old crusty individual. The operation has been going down hill for years and it shows. They have competition in this realm of cheap thrills and they still not adapting to the competition. Disgusting. I should've trusted my instinct when i walked in the door. This place looks like it's halfway to shutting itself down. I sat at the bar while i waited on my to go wings and couldn't stop thinking about how nasty the bar area and kitchen area looked. The kitchen staff were not wearing gloves which is probably acceptable here as the manager seemed to be in the kitchen most of the time and couldn't have missed that. Got home and the wings were nasty not sure how you eff your signature dish up on a slow Tuesday but the gloveless fella sure did. The bartender was polite and this review is by no means a reflection on her. The management here needs to stop playing games with the staff and get their shit together and have a staff cleaning party. Also i ordered 10 wings got two drums, not a huge deal but i noticed they charge extra for drums which means they should've been 5/5 not 8/2. The quality of the food is what prompted this review not the filthy kept restaurant. P.S. Several months ago things just got better. They upped their game w/ the wings big time. They are now the biggest and juiciest wings in McKinney. The mgr noticed that I've been in a few times and came by -- just being polite. I told him that I really liked the wings and he told me they had some issues with their suppliers. They are now using fresh vs frozen and the jumbo size. I'm certainly not the only one noticing, it's been packed the last few times I've been there. read more

I had not been to Hooters in a while. I will probably never return. The menu is not a true reflection of what you get. The service is terrible the food was worse. We went in on a Friday afternoon, beer was warm at best, waited for my 2nd beer which sat at the bar over 7 minutes while my waitress chit chatted and flirted with another couple. Food came out wrong and waitress had no clue about what I had ordered. Save your money go anywhere else like Buffalo wild wings, wing stop, anywhere else would have been better than this Hooters. Horrible didn't even eat got seated and sat there for 20 minutes while two managers and several waitresses just walked by and ignored us finally got up and left and told the guy who seated us that we were going to blue goose cause no body wanted to wait on us. Managers should probably help out the waitresses and managers should use team work concept to make sure tables don't fall through the cracks instead of watching tv or talking to tables that obviously have service already. We are new to the area and were happy to see a Hooters so close to our home. We ordered 20 wings to go after work one day this week. Half breaded original and half breaded medium. It took a little longer than the anticipated time. We got our order with 'one' (laughable)very small cup of blue cheese for 20 wings and were on our way. We took our meal and headed home. Settled down to eat and were extremely disappointed. First, we couldn't tell which were original or medium. All mixed together, all looked the same They were way over cooked which explains our longer wait. The breading was so crispy it fell apart. Overall flavor was not good - just overdone. Pretty much a disappointment $24 later. I contemplated whether to share my experience with them or just never go back. I decided to call. Manager was busy so I left my contact info. No call back to this day. It won't matter to them because I'm just one person but I won't be going back. Too many other food choices around. Just a very disappointing experience. read more
