There is also a place to recycle old batteries, electronics, paint and old flags. Closed on Mondays and Sundays. Along the sidewalk there is a free shelf where anyone can take or leave items that can still be used. You can even request items on the bulletin board. Mary is very nice and always there. She also runs the Recycling Center for the Arts. This room inside of the building has a ton of free resources and materials for teachers at non-profit schools to take back to their classroom for use. I've been "shopping" there for two years and have stocked my room with many wonderful materials! Businesses can donate to this project as well as individuals.

We fill out can every week, I put our trash out Tuesday night as usual for Wednesday pick up. They always come in the morning. My kids called me at work after getting home from school and said that it was still there. Around 4 I called rumpke to let them know. The lady said they would send someone to get it. The next day at 4:30 it was still there, so I called again. The man who answered said they have 48 hours from my first call, and they have to manage 300 trucks. I work in logistics. What we don't get done one day is a priority the next day. Not that it matters.I called Friday around 2:30 or 3 because it was still there. The lady said dispatch was getting a truck to get it. So of course it's Saturday, and my trash is still there. I guess we'll make a trash mountain. And I'm assuming my next payment will have 1 week off, because if we pay for something, and they don't give the customer what they pay for, isn't that theft? I'll keep you updated. Basically, they lie and make excuses. My neighbors have Ava trash service, and highly recommend them!

From the very start they were very friendly, professional and helpful. The whole process was quick, and rather high tech too, with an impressive software system. The strong young fella that was helping me also gave me many informative tips, and helped me identify a pile of mystery metal that I had as aluminum, giving me fair value for it as well. I found out that they also accept electronics scrap, which -- in my surplus scientific equipment business -- is very good to know. I'd highly recommend Bloomington Iron & Metal, and will continue to use them from now on.

The driver pulled up as I was trying to disassemble this box (it was from a stuffed chair, so not an insubstantial size), "don't worry about it, I can grab it" He asked me to move back. I did. He tried & missed. I adjusted it. He grabbed it, threw it in the bin, and it collapsed as it went in. It's no longer taking up space in my garage, I didn't have to cut it apart and try to wrangle it into my bin, and it was done in less than 3 minutes. Thank you to the driver! You made my day!

There are a few sayings in life that tend to be based in truth. One is "you get what you pay for"…read more In my case that means by saving a bit on trash I'm paying to wake up on a weekly basis around 6:30 AM because they just HAVE to pick up the trash so damn early. Have I contacted them multiple times? Yes. And in all of that time, there is maybe a span of a few months where the route is switched up and then they're back here way too early. The other company might cost more, but at least their trucks don't rumble through until at least 7 AM. If I had the budget I'd switch just based on that. I support local as often as I can, but when local businesses treat me like crap, it's tough to support them. Aside from that, they're what you'd expect from a trash company.

I did trash Valet So you don't wanna move the trash can too far away from where the trashcan was placed before or people will complain because they go crazy. Especially in apartment complexes. Anyways in housing complexes When you leave, a trash can directly behind vehicles. When they weren't there to begin with. It gets frustrating after....oh I don't know the seventh, eighth, ninth, tenth time right? I have complained in the past, three maybe four times In the past six years. But now for whatever reason it's every week that I have to call. Speak to the very nice lady and tell her that their drivers don't know how to read I guess.? I've resulted to name calling in this review I am sorry... The problem started back up in September and it is now December. And nothing has changed.. Their drivers are incompetent. I have Left multiple messages With ava's waste removal complaining that their Truck drivers keep leaving the trash can directly behind my truck in my driveway. You might say, why are you leaving it directly behind your truck in your driveway right? I am not ! we are purposefully leaving it almost on our neighbors property fifteen feet away to the left . Or if it's on a nice day the night before then we bring it out 20 feet the opposite way. BUT It'll still end up directly behind my truck which is in my driveway... The nice lady who answers the phone told me last time that There's a note in the computer that pops up when the trash driver comes to my house to pick up our trash. Apparently they don't know how to read. I'm over it. I never had this issue with any other trash service. The only reason I left republic was because I was getting a discount for combining my trash and recycling but then I found out that they were putting recycling in the same truck as the trash. So we're paying extra money for recycling. But it's going to the same place as the trash and not getting separated blah, blah, whatever. So then we started with Ava's and they were doing well. In a whole year they would leave the trash can behind our truck once. Now it is every single week. I don't know if anyone knows this, but to replace A trash can costs a lot of money. They just won't throw you a new trashcan for free if you run it over because of their incompetence- They will charge you. I don't understand why I am paying for a service that I have to call and complain about every week.. Again, the ladies who answer the phone are excellent. They're very polite, They try to help you out any way shape or form they can. But the idiots who are driving the trucks and picking up the trash need to watch a video on how to do their job again. Did I mention how I've gone around my neighborhood to see if it was just my house that they were doing this to? Well it is and I did. Never in a million years did I think i'd be that lady driving around my neighborhood Taking pictures of where my neighbors trash cans were placed. Well guess what? None of them have their trash cans anywhere near their driveway. I'm over it. They couldn't even do it for 1 week after I complained. I'm not going to leave pictures On here because it shows my home. It shows my address and my vehicle. I don't want retaliation from the people who give it. 5 Stars to come to my house and start Messenger with other stuff. Because that stuff happens because people are crazy. Evas has photos because I have sent them photos. Photos of my house and all of my neighbors that have ava's waste removal as their trash service.. And how only my trash can is in my driveway. Nobody else is trash cans anywhere near any of their vehicles or their driveway.
