However, a lot has changed since I moved away in 1987. HA HA! And not just the area, sports have changed. There was no fast pitch softball for girls before high school. And there was nothing more competitive than the rec league which had us playing slow pitch once a week. In the summer. And no other time. No shocker that our varsity HS softball team SUCKED. Anyways, fast forward to now when sports are different. I've been around travel ball for 20+ years being married to a coach. We are from Central Ohio and I'm quite familiar from years of travel of knowing what a good complex is - and what is not. This comparison, however, is different given the weather we were challenged with - and, of course, COVID. I'll start by saying NO ONE was wearing masks. Which made my mom and me uncomfortable. However, we were able to park close to the field and sit away from others. The location itself was kind of strange - tucked within a under construction residential development. But any time you can find a parking spot and it's near the field - definitely off to a great start. More stars for having restroom. But when the rain hit - there was very little (none) shelter. We squeezed under the underhang of a building and tried to keep dry. Fortunately, the rain was short and the game played on. The fields played nicely and were well kept. The tournament itself was pretty well-run - but that's beyond the scope of reviewing the park. So keeping it to the practical aspects, I say the only nicer set ups have a self-contained complex with shelter, concessions and the like - but also might have other challenges like gate fees, coolers, and so on. It was perfect for my mom and me to catch my hubby's team's game!
