I've visited Force Sports (Rocky River location) on Center Ridge Road about 3 times over the years…read moreto play indoor tennis. When I called in Jan. 2025 to confirm the price to book a tennis court, I was kindly helped on the phone. While the actual tennis court is fine, the roof is quickly falling apart. Read more below. INDOOR TENNIS (1/5 rating) -- I recently visited in January 2025 with a new friend. It is $36 to rent a court for an hour. Upon entering, I realized that the facility needs some serious repair, mainly the roof that is tearing apart. The roof of the indoor tennis courts is degrading fast. Pieces of the roof are falling off unto the court surfaces. Before I arrived to play tennis, my friend told me that she asked a tennis staff member if the facility plans to update and fix the room but the staff member said no. That is surprising. For safety reasons, the roof should be fixed. Management doesn't appear to care about the tennis facility and it is unclear why this is the case. Perhaps they focus all their attention on their indoor soccer facility, who knows! I won't be back to the tennis facility because soon enough, that roof may fall apart which is dangerous. **** GOAL of 365 reviews in 2025 - 31/365 total reviews in 2025 - 812 total Yelp reviews - Reviewed on 5 February 2025

This review is for the aquatic complex only…read more The roughly 10 year facility looks awesome in photos which was when the pool was new. However the complex has not been maintained up to proper standards and has been for sale for over a year. Spire Institute was an amazing idea to bring world class sports training into the Cleveland area. It even got the designation of U.S. Olympic Training Center. However, the finances never jived and the location in the middle of no where was not the draw they hoped for. 20 miles North toward Cleveland they would have been much better off drawing club swimming and revenue. The parking lot was never finished and is gravel with no sidewalks to the front door. I've heard it's brutal in the winter with snow. Guest should expect little to no internet as there guest WiFi rarely worked. The pool is a 50 meter Olympic with 5 meter spring board in an awkward location. The pool temps were a correct 81°. They also offer a 25 yard warm up/cool down pool. Spectator seating offers great views of competition. The digital scoreboard was outdated but good. The deck has better than average space to allow athlete seating thats recessed which is brilliant. Over the four days of USA Futures competition in August 2019 the pool was prepared for swimming. The air temps were not, warm and uncomfortable. Air quality fair. It was warm outside, but normal for August. Clearly the HVAC system struggled. There were also aspects of the facility that was filthy such as the chrome. Chlorine creates havoc if not rinsed down regularly. There was also a 15 minute delay at Finals no less due to replacing a diving block. Lighting was out every where as bulbs were not replaced. The main lobby area that offered food was mediocre. The dining room space was very good. But window seals told the story of again lack of cleaning and maintenance with large thick cob webs. This was in the main area. Just this year developers began to finally put in hotels within 5 miles or so of the complex. This could potentially help breath life back into Spire. There are still few restaurants and shopping options. The nearby town of Geneva is quaint. The area is beautiful. But it's not enough. The owner are bleeding money and struggling to stay afloat and must have new leadership that brings a sizable investment to complete and maintain the huge complex of buildings and fields. 2.5, rounding down.

Spirit Volleyball Club in Elyria, Ohio (https://www.spiritvbc.com/) disseminated information and…read moredetails about a required, scheduled tournament taking place on March 2nd, 2025 in Maumee, Ohio to its coaches, which was then communicated from the coaches to team members and their parents via official channels on a sanctioned communication application (GroupMe), up to and including the day before the tournament. This communication included details on the location of the tournament, required arrival times, and official links to the tournament schedule. In addition to this, Spirit Volleyball Club wished the teams luck on their official Facebook channel on (https://www.facebook.com/SpiritVolleyball) (screenshots available). As per the information and instructions provided by Spirit Volleyball Club, the families of these team members made plans to be present in Maumee, Ohio early the morning of March 2nd. Many of these families booked and paid for hotel rooms in advance, and made the trip from the Cleveland area to Maumee on March 1st, to ensure their daughters would be in attendance at the venue on time, as specified by Spirit Volleyball Club. The morning of the tournament, chaos ensued as word made its way through GroupMe that Spirit Volleyball Club's owner, Ryan Varndell, had been informed via a January 26th email (screenshots available) by Maumee's director, Zach Lewis, that the tournament had been cancelled. This was NOT COMMUNICATED to the coaches by Ryan Varndell, and therefore none of the parents or team members had any idea. As a result, everyone made the trip to Maumee, many staying overnight, only to arrive to an empty parking lot early that morning. I, as a single parent, spent over $250 between hotel, food, gas and tolls for the four-hour round trip drive. I (as well as many other parents) have subsequently reached out to Ryan Varndell as well as Stephanie Skacan (Assistant Director) several times with ZERO response.

They can accommodate between four and six volleyball courts. There isn't a lot of parking and the Wi-Fi doesn't work. They're pretty strict about what you can bring in with you. As far as volleyball is concerned, the ceilings are a bit low, which affects play negatively with balls bouncing around in the rafters. Otherwise, the volleyball courts are very nice.
