This is a great spot for indoor pickleball in San Diego. I come here regularly with some friends to…read moreplay a mix of singles and doubles. The courts are very clean and well maintained. It's a joy to play on permanent nets that don't slide around. You need to download the Playtomic app in order to book a time slot. Some courts are much smaller than others so do beware. The better courts are tougher to book so be prepared to book a week in advance for the busy times on the good courts. I wanted to shout out the service here. The front desk workers are very friendly and I've even called them several times to reschedule my appointment last minute and have had no issues doing so.

Located near Costco on Morena, King of Padel only has 4 pickleball courts but there are also some courts for padel ball. We snagged Court 9, which is located in another part of the building with Court 10. Thankful that we ended up finding a spot to play but these courts aren't the best. There's not much room to back up and we would often run into the walls or accidentally hit the walls when serving. Also, you can't really lob the ball because of how low the ceiling fan is. There's also no clock in the room so make sure you keep track of your reservation! The total cost ended up being $20 for an hour on Sunday morning. Despite some of the downsides of the indoor courts, the price for the entire hour wasn't bad at all. It's a great alternative if you really can't find anything else in the area.

I didn't know what to expect when I saw this place from the outside because it was near hella…read morewarehouses but it's a neat place! They have two spots one for beginners and one for intermediate players. I went to the beginners one and it was pretty nice. It costs 14$ and you can play for as long as you want. Flower Cock is provided for free to use but you have to bring raquets. If you don't have them they are available to rent also. If you come here for the first time you're gonna have to register and sign some waiver. You have to reserve a court and reservation lasts 30 mins, then you can reserve for next available time. I went on Saturday noon and it wasn't too busy and I am glad it wasn't smelly cause the last badminton place I went to was MUSTYYY. There's tons of parking and even a plaza nearby with lots of food options for post badminton grub!!

I play at Smash pretty often, so I feel like I have a pretty fair idea of the pros and cons LOL…read more Smash is currently the only private badminton gym in SD, which is honestly a huge reason why I still come here a lot. Otherwise, your options are mostly rec centers or school facilities that you have to be enrolled in to use. There are 2 locations just a few doors away from each other. Smash 2 is mostly for paid training and court reservations, while Smash 1 is where most of the regular play happens. Both sides have 7 badminton courts. Membership is ~$70/month with a one-time $10 initiation fee, and drop-ins are $14/day. They have in-house stringing, some rackets and birdies you can buy, and I believe they have some loaner rackets if you don't have one. They also have coaches for different levels, and there are definitely some good coaches here. If you're interested in paid training, pricing varies depending on the coach. One of the best things about Smash is that you can play pretty late, which is really convenient if you can only play at night. You can actually stay and keep playing past the front desk hours if you're already inside. But once the front desk hours are closed, there's no re-entry and new check-ins. So basically if you want to play late, get there before they close. Parking is also pretty easy. If it's busy, court reservations are usually 30 minutes though. If it's not busy, you can just play on whatever court. If you want to play singles, you can ask the front desk to lock the court so people don't hop in. If you come alone, just know that a lot of people already have their own groups. Not everybody is looking to play a game, some people are just hitting. You can definitely meet new people here, but you may have to mingle a bit since some groups are pretty set. I'd honestly recommend bringing someone if you can. It can also get REALLY crowded depending on the time, and wait times can sometimes be up to an hour. My biggest complaint is definitely the cleanliness. The gym could be cleaned a LOT more often, and the bathrooms aren't the best. The weightlifting equipment is also very basic and kind of beat up, so I wouldn't count on this place for a real weightlifting workout. That being said, I still play here a lot because my friends play here. It's convenient and there really isn't another competitor. Smash definitely has room for improvement, especially with cleanliness and upkeep, but I'm glad we have a dedicated place to play badminton at night.

This league is a God send!…read more I have a 19 year old daughter who plays flag football in college in IL, and with the program at her school being so new, it leaves a lot to be desired. While visiting me in San Diego for the summer, and with her aged out of most skills camps, I wanted to get her into something that could be competitive and help her improve her game. The X Flag Football League did just that! The owner Mike was so communicative, explaining everything for us at each step, setting realistic expectations, and making sure that she was able to join a team on short notice just days before the season started. The league is mostly volunteers, so we did not know what to expect, but so many wonderful male and female players, team coaches, and refs stepped in to ensure my daughter had ample practice and game time, and received tips, plays, and techniques to make her a better player. She even went on to win the championship this year and get the game's MVP award (Go Spyders)! Overall, playing in this adult league built her confidence and elevated her skills beyond anything we imagined and we are forever grateful for this league, it's owner Mike, and it's wonderful players! If you are thinking about joining, do it! You will be happy that you did. Until next summer...

Unprofessional - Kept My $100 Despite Incomplete Registration…read more I am posting this because xflagfootball has been holding onto $100 of my money since June 2025 and refuses to honor their own refund policy. Their policy states that no refunds are issued "after registration is complete." However, my registration was never completed. This business didn't even have my first or last name on file to finalize the process. Despite this, the owner has spent the last six months refusing to return my money. I have tried to handle this professionally for half a year. I have texted him repeatedly and sent multiple Cash App requests for my $100, all of which he has declined. I have also filed a formal complaint regarding this violation of California Civil Code Section 1723, as businesses are legally required to follow their stated refund terms. It is incredibly dishonest to take a customer's money before a service is even established and then refuse to give it back. If you want a business that has integrity and follows its own rules, stay away from xflagfootball. I am still waiting for my $100.
