This dog park is AWESOME! I could go on for days about it…read more It has two separated sections, one for smaller or shy dogs and one for everyone else. Generally everyone hangs out on the larger side. It is large enough that if two dogs do not get along, they have enough space to get away from one another. On that note, I have never seen an altercation at this dog park and I come here VERY frequently. Most, if not all, of the owners are very aware of their dogs actions and are responsible. During the not-snow-months, everyone is very good about picking up after their dogs and keeping the park tidy. This winter, one of the dog park frequenters plowed a walkway around the entire park for easier walking. During inclement weather, there is a small "house" near the center of the park where you can take shelter while your dogs enjoy the rain, snow, wind, etc. It was a lifesaver on those especially blustery days this winter. The dogs don't mind but we do! There are windows on all 4 sides so your can keep an eye on the pups. They also have lights set up inside the house as well as outside. There are some solar-powered lights attached to the saplings but I have not been after sunset so I'm not sure how much they light the way. The park is kept running solely on donations because it is not an entity of the city of Marshfield. The president of the dog park, Phil(and dog Henry) are there often, enjoying the park and making sure it is up to par. Phil takes great pride in the park and it shows. We were just having fun in the dodgeball courts, when this little boy was following around me and my son. At first, he was doing no harm, up until he started throwing dodgeballs at my sons head. I yelled at the kid to stop and he would not. The court monitor did not seem to care whatsoever! Eventually my son threw a ball that had accidentally hit him in the head, after he hit my son in the head over 5 times! This is when the court monitor decided it was time for action, I didnt catch a name, but she had wavy/curly hair an black glasses, havent seen her before so she must be a new hire. She comes over to the courts and starts to yell at my son! She says we 'cant throw balls at peoples heads' but she dint say anything when the other kid did! I told her that he were just playing the game, and she started to talk back, saying how she could see us from miles away. Not true one bit! Overall I would not recommend this place at all! Horrible workers, they need to make better selections with workers, place is dirty everywhere, dirty bathrooms, unflushed toilets, and a horrible stench! We have always had a positive experience, check-in can be tedious but once u know the check-in procedure things go much quicker. Don't worry there's plenty of friendly staff to help first timers. Rules can be a little lax with certain staff which makes it difficult to really know the "set rules". When it comes to safety and cleanliness I truly believe Sawmill is doing things right which is why as a parent I don't mind paying their slightly high prices.

This is such an amazing part of the Marshfield community for family and people of all ages. It's…read morefree to visit and they have a variety of animals for the size of the zoo. The Kodiak bears are my favorite and they have an amazing exhibit. There is a playground for the kiddos as well. For those who have difficulty walking, there is also a drive thru available to see animals from your car.

(Marshfield also has a lot of other parks, trails and recreation areas. Including an outdoor pool). This little zoo It has a lot to offer... up close access to all kinds of wildlife. It's clean and very well kept, and I really think it's awesome that it has walking and biking trails running through it... AND it has a road that you can do a drive through experience. How great is that for the elderly, or handicapped or exhausted young kids? (Or lazy adults like me!) and it's all free!
