Before I blather on let me say head out here and get the $5 shrimp po boy special to try them out. It's not on a bun.. it's a 6(or more) inch loaf that's a little skinny but that made it perfect for eating and driving. The person claiming touristy prices must be from out of town or something. You get what you pay for. We have inflation dood! Lay off the "stuff" brah. You trippin! So, I was headed home to Reefer Ridge in almost Kennah, brah! after an appointment with a client. I was talking to my friend Jeff Hewitt, former Riverside County supervisor that served on the LNC with me. He is the guy who knows who the real life John Galt is but I ain't tellin. I then saw this sign that said $5 Shrimp Sandwich. I told this to Jeff as I was U turning and he agreed that I needed to go back and check that out. It was the new seafood restaurant taking over the old Rally's across from the St Roch Market. My first impression was the place was clean. My next impression was "Oh £¥€k! Where is my wallet!" I then drove to the speaker and they confirmed they could use my Apple wallet. My next impression was it was a pretty extensive menu and it looked good. I ordered the $5 special and decided to get a side of red beans. My next impression was at the window where I noticed they seemed to be Asian. "Eff Yeah!"This got me hopeful because maybe they were Vietnamese and most of my preferred shrimp po boys have been made by people of Vietnamese ethnicity. My Apple Wallet worked! After a very short wait of maybe 3-5 minutes they handed me a bag. I then continued on my way home.. eating my sammich. I had figured it was going to get a bun. I was pleasantly surprised that it was a po boy banh mi style. A little six(or more) inch loaf. I had forgotten to ask for ketchup and hot sauce the way I normally get it but that was ok especially for the first time. My next impression was how perfect the bread was. It was crisp and light and didn't cut my mouth. The shrimp were fresh and good and of a decent size. I could have stood a little more mayo for my taste but once again better for the first impression. I stayed off the interstate as I was eating and talking to Jeff on my headset. I finished the sandwich very pleased. Despite how skinny it was, it took me a while to eat. I moved on to the red beans. First impression here was.. "That's a lotta garlic!" Beans were good. Some meat in them. Not overloaded with rice. Portion size was maybe a little small for $3 So I am sitting here writing this review shocked how few reviews there are already and how poor the ones that are. Don't take our word for it. Go get the 5 dollar special and come make your own. Sorry for the lack of pics. I was driving, eating and talking on a headset. I have the menu in my car so I was grab that and post it. Every time I think about it.. I think I want another one and am considering making the 25 minute trip today, even though it's less that 12 hours later. That's a good sign.

Lemon pepper bread it I didn't want that I thought it was nake it and chicken look like it's on steroids

I'm pissed. The first time I tried it and it's nasty cajun rice is plain rice no taste, the chicken wings looked make on the picture lemo pepper bread is not good , service good but that not Cajun rice and the need new chicken wings

    FOURTEEN DOLLARS for this

this place is basically a scam, the amount of food you receive looks nothing like what is pictured. paid fourteen dollars for a "basket" and got seven shrimp. You'd be better off going literally anywhere else.

I do not, but I do enjoy their grilled chicken po-boy. Other fan favorites are the shrimp Poboy, the softshell crab Poboy and the gumbo. The red beans and rice are the some of the best in the city! They have a wide drink selection, including local beer. They do not take reservations and you line up outside to wait for a table. The staff outside keeps the line organized and moving and we never have to wait for very long. It is cozy inside with the tables close together so they can maximize the seating capacity, red and white tablecloths and just a really fun atmosphere.

Had to wait in line to get in for less than five minutes with two groups ahead of us. By the time we left at 5:30 there was a line of maybe five to seven parties. Regardless, I think people rotate out of here pretty quickly so I don't think you should fret too much if the line has built up. A lively restaurant with a lot of neon, decor, and tv screens. The service is reasonably fast and polite. Got the 1/2 Dozen oysters ($18 or $3 per) which were yummy. I'd recommend the Boom Boom Shrimp for sharing. This place gets my stamp of approval!

But I was welcomed in to the bar with one open seat. The staff was very welcoming with a bit of sarcasm, which is probably something that I look forward to everywhere. I asked for recommendations, having looked at the menu and they handed me another special menu of the day stating obviously I hadn't read the whole thing yet. I started with the snapper appetizer and I have Tse with the coconut lime broth. It was absolutely delicious, followed by the crawfish capellini. I was surprised by the amount of crawfish in the dish and the chili flavor, which was absolutely delicious. I have been hearing about the hush puppies for a while so I had to try some, especially because my colleague raved about it at dinner the night before. Lastly, I had the baked drum which was delicious light and flaky. The flavors were incredible. I personally thought that the bread was a little overly grilled and chard, but overall the dishes still pretty good. I cannot say more about the dessert. It's absolutely one of the best desserts I've had in a long time. The sticky carrot cake toffee cake with cream cheese ice cream was just on the next level. I would try to come here if I was in the area every time.

After trying a few times to get a reservation at this restaurant because of the reviews, we were unable to secure a walk-up with an hour wait. The front of house was not very inviting, and we should have taken that as a warning. When we were seated at 1:30, the staff seemed ready for a break. We were greeted, and then it took 15 mins for them to get back to us for drinks and answer any questions We ordered two cocktails, Gintilly and The Head and the Heart, which were not memorable compared to other options we sampled in our week-long tour of NOLA. For apps, we ordered Tuna Crudo and Smoked Tuna dip, which were both mediocre in size and taste. It also took a while for them to bring them to our table, and we had to remind them. ( 20 minutes to deliver raw fish). We split a mixed green salad, which was good with a tangy dressing. For entrees, we ordered Capellini /Crawfish and Fish sticks with a side of crispy spinach. The fish sticks arrived cold, and they had to refire it. The manager apologized. Overall, they were good. We finished the meal with a salted Peanut Pie, which was the highlight at a fish restaurant. Overall, the staff was waiting around and almost ignoring us. With hiccups, there were no adjustments, but a simple here is your newly cooked dish with no apology. My wife and I are foodies and had high expectations for Peche but they fell short of the hype in service and execution for $ 175 with tip on this late lunch.

Drink stayed full. Suggested items. Friendly. So I came into town to take my mom here for mother's day. We had gumbo, charbroiled oysters, fish and shrimp with grits, bbw shrimp, a fried seafood platter and a red fish meal. Liked the gumbo. But everything was fine. Nothing memorable. Party of 1 and was offered bar seating for quicker service so I obliged since I ended up doing takeout. I've had great food in this city the last time I came so I was excited to experience more of its authenticity. I was debating between a cup of gumbo, a crawfish étouffée and a shrimp pasta. I asked the bartender what would be his favorite choice and he actually suggested the seafood pasta if I was considering the shrimp since it'll have a nice melody of em all. Perfect. Mediocre at best sadly. My first red flag was the neighboring couple sending their food back because their shrimp and grits were not as expected. Off observation from afar, I agreed. A HUGE plate with a spread out portion of grits and 5 mini shrimp sprinkled on top. He explained the flavor was mediocre and semi-cold. My to-go seafood meal came out in about 10 min. I'll even be nice and say 15. Red flag #2 for me that it probably wasn't fresh. Got to my room... flavor was ok. Creamy. Pasta was a little overcooked for me. Decent seafood portion ratio to pasta at least, but nothing spectacular for a $30 plate. Darn...
