Honor Services did an inspection and advised we have a hip roof in the wind mitigation report. When the house was re inspected after we did some repairs Honor Services said we have a gable roof and our insurance premium skyrocketed. They even went so far to say that our previous insurance company (who we had for15 years) was wrong by listing our roof as a hip roof. Our roofer advised we have a hip roof, an architect advised we had a hip roof so we hired another inspection company. The new inspector advised our "roof was without a doubt 100 % hip roof". Honor Services caused us a loss of valuable time and money, DO NOT USE HONOR SERVICES they are INCOMPTENT. read more

Jeff and Jim came to a home on which we have a purchase contract to perform a home inspection, pool inspection four point inspection (roof, electrical system,heating & cooling and plumbing system), and wind mitigation. They arrived on time and went over everything inside and outside the house. Jeff went through each and every problem they encountered, big and small, on site. I paid this company to do a 4 point inspection on a house I am buying after it was suggested by the insurance company. I found out later that a recent (4 months prior) 4pt inspection had also been done by a licensed inspector that had no affiliation with an insurance company. When their reports differed greatly, I contacted both inspectors. To say the least, this company does not like to entertain any idea that their "subjective, non data driven" opinions are in any way incorrect (or even subjective). I supplied permit history and sign off that the windows were replaced and inspected in 2007 with impact rated windows. Not only would they not accept the permit history, The owner (John) spoke trash about the local building inspectors as well about the other inspector (licensed, bon He was rude and demeaning to me especially after telling him I acted as homeowner/builder in CA on several properties. CA is known to have the strictest building codes in the US. The city of SF inspectors are the last word on anything. Showing a permit history is required for any changes/updates/repairs before a house can sell and proof for insurance companies, lenders, etc. Don't trust this company to be in your best interest. They are not. They seem to be in the pocket of the insurance company that refers them out. Find an inspector that isn't involved with any insurance company and someone who does not think they are always right read more

Jeffrey Prescott arrived on time with his team to inspect a house we had made a bid on to purchase. Within a short period he had discovered a lot of corrosion in the cast iron sewage pipes that ran under the slab using his scope. A repair for a problem like this would involve having to trench the slab wherever the pipes ran throughout the house to replace them. The sewage pipe discovery was a deal breaker for us, and we declined to continue with the purchase. Honor Services likely saved us a lot of money and heartache by preventing us from buying a house with the potential for such a major problem. read more

Be ware of any company that has or only shows 5 stars. My experience from report done in Fed was the report was vague and inspector could not explain his findings. I thought he was either really good or did not knowing what he was talking about. He was not able to explain his findings. I had reports from prior years that did not back his findings. Bottom line they were not professional and having house respected by a different company. read more

We thought it may make sense to ask Honor Services if they could come down to do a townhouse inspection in Vero and luckily they did a couple days later. JP and Matt did a thorough inspection and to my surprise found evidence of a roof leak and attic issues. We also ordered a mold inspection for the first time and was surprised to find the results fairly straightforward. Let me start by saying WOW!!! When I first called to set up an appointment Michelle answered and not only set up my appointment but was also extremely costumer service friendly, gave me all kinds tips on the next steps and even some contacts for home insurance! The day of the inspection, John was there with another inspector 10 minutes early. Upon meeting John, he explained how the entire inspection was going to go and started right away. I didn't want to bother him while he was performing the inspection but I did ask a few question to which he took the time to answer. I have never seen such a thorough inspection, 2 and a half hours later he was ready to sit and explain everything he had seen and done. It was insane the amount of stuff I had missed by looking at the house the first time I went there. The next day I received my report which was over 75 pages with pictures of every single problem/violation and I was really amazed. Honor will definetly be my go to company for any inspection I need from now on, and if I get any job done to the house I will make aure to call Honor to come look and inspect it once its done. I am relocating to Brevard and did my research on finding a experienced Home Inspector. I was sold on getting a inspector with over 10 years of experience when I called and made the appointment. I was told two men, for two hours. What I got was one young man who was licensed less than 3 years ago. His report was shallow, he could not answer questions at the site about visible damage. He did not leave the ladder to inspect attics even for a WDO with obvious signs of wood destruction. I did call and question and was given a "Sorry" and after much complaining a small fee removed. Getting a experienced inspector was key for me and Honor Inspections did NOT honor their claims and I felt left out in the cold by this deceptive company. read more

I'll start out by saying I am very very picky so some would say I should have given them 5 stars. I went through 2 different home inspection companies and kicked both of them out of my house. I called Honor Services and specifically told them what I am looking for the lady on the phone was very respectful and assured me we are the right company you are looking for. The inspectors showed up on time and I looked at them and immediately judged them because one of the inspectors looked so young and I thought to myself another waste of time and money. I WAS WAY WRONG! The young man was very knowledgeable and thought me plenty. Sorry I don't remember names but the older gentleman was on point as well. The reason for my 4 stars is the report was far better than I received from other companies but in certain areas it's lacking a better detailed information and recommendations. Again I am very very picky. But I wouldn't let my review turn you away. I would hire them again and will refer them to our friends. read more
