Called, left a voicemail and emailed over 3 days to confirm store was open before I made the 1 hour trek from our hotel. No response. Soo frustrating and sad! Why have a business? Sharp Works has everything I need for my new pastime. Yarn, needles, everything I need to make myself a new jumper for super cheap prices. If you have formidable knitting skills you can probably make yourself two jumpers for a tenner if you buy all of your supplies from this place. This place is a lifesaver on many levels.

In my search for halloween costume creations, I decided to just bring out the big guns and find the largest crafty store possible, and this is what I came up with. It's a haul from central, but they had everything I was looking for (except for the size in one thing), but I got all my crafting done in one place and that was well worth the trip. My fellow yelper wasn't so lucky, as she seems to be looking for some items that just don't prevail anywhere in the UK, but if you need a crafting mecca, I suggest you pick up a crossword puzzle and take the tube ride out. It's just a short 5-10 min walk from the tube station too!

Seeing the front window filled with sewing machines, I worried that the focus was too much on sewing to have much for knitters -- but I was dead wrong. Most of the back room was devoted to yarn, needles and other knitting notions and patterns. None of the expensive high-end brands (Madelinetosh, etc.) and a lot of baby yarn and blends (not my thing) but loads of solid yarn choices, including a whole case filled with Opal and Trekking sock yarn. And I was blown away to see SPINNING FIBER (roving); not many craft stores carry this! Helpful, friendly sales clerks. Expert advice, too: one of the two clerks was offering a customer some rather sophisticated advice about yarn substitutions for a pattern. I would be delighted to have a shop like this near my home.

My questions regarding my yarn choices have always been answered promptly, with the ability to have a virtual yarn selection appointment to help me out; with it always dispatched promptly. Milli has a keen appreciation for colour and design; and her expertise in yarn, patterns, fashion and the art of knitting, has in my opinion really made such a huge difference in the lives of thousands, through her guidance, advice, and by being the catalyst for developing our creative process. Milli is a shining light and is such a breath of fresh air with her boundless creativity and wicked sense of humour. Milli's generosity of Spirit extends to creating a wonderful knitting community through classes, KAL's, events; and I am so very grateful to have the opportunity to catch up with the gals on fortnightly Virtual knit nights (early mornings for me!). Not only did I not receive my items, I am out $300. I placed my order May 29, 2020. As of August 24, 2020 I've not received it. I got an email from the owner saying it was out of her hands. This was such a poor customer experience. I never had anything like this happen before, and certainly not with a yarn shop. I've ordered from several UK shops before and even during the same time. I understand covid is making things crazy at the moment and since my package was being shipped internationally, I was very patient. I was at least expecting a replacement offer, but didn't even get that unfortunately. I was not going to post but just wanted to warn those who may be ordering Stateside. Maybe pay extra for FedEx shipping or something.
