I brought in three items (a scarf, a sweatshirt, and a pair of pajamas) to be embroidered for my honeymoon. I was very specific about the details--monogram placement, font, and even requested that my name be done in all lowercase. Unfortunately, every item was done incorrectly. The monogram on the scarf was placed upside down (so when worn, it read incorrectly), and both the sweatshirt and pajamas were embroidered in the wrong font and not in lowercase as requested. When I brought this to their attention, I was told the original items could not be corrected and would need to be replaced and re-embroidered. To their credit, they agreed to repurchase the items. However, when I returned to pick them up, none of the items had been embroidered at all--and the pajamas provided were not even the correct pair. At that point, I requested a refund for the embroidery services I never received. I was told the employee present was unable to process a refund. I had to insist on getting something in writing stating that I would be refunded, but I have little confidence this will actually happen. I have not received a phone call, email, or any other communication to try to rectify the issue or send a refund. I've since filed a dispute with my bank. Between the repeated errors, lack of attention to detail, and inability to resolve the issue properly, this was an incredibly frustrating experience--especially given that these items were meant for a special occasion. I would not recommend this business based on my experience. The level of inaccuracy and lack of follow-through here is simply unacceptable.

I've debated writing this review for quite some time, as I truly love supporting local businesses…read moreand believe even if mistakes are made they are human and deserve second chances. I reached out via Yelp to schedule my wedding dress alterations in advance of my wedding date last September. The day I showed up I wasn't told in advance I needed heels and was told we couldn't proceed even though heels were actually available for this purpose, and nobody told me. The owner did reach out to me to come back and I had to reschedule for another two weeks later as I was already home at that point. I came back to set up alterations confirming that the hem would come up 3 inches to accommodate heels and for it to fit comfortably I would have to lose about 10 pounds. This was no issue. When I came back to try it on I'm not sure why (as it was never explained to me), but the straps were shortened in such a way as you can see in my photos that my breasts had no support and were flattened or the material moved depending on angle of photo. Not happy. They put in a zipper for the buttons which I was grateful for. I had several weeks prior to the day I needed to pick up scheduled as our wedding was out of state. When I showed up, it was not ready, not pressed and I had to wait while they finished. I'm glad I double checked it on my way out or I would've left the state without a dress that was done as I asked for a bustle that was not on the dress, even though I had asked for it and paid for everything in advance at the last appointment. I am not a picky person or hard to deal with when it comes to brides. We had a simple elopement and were very flexible with changes as they came. I find it beyond frustrating that for such a big event, and given the other amazing reviews (which is why I picked this business), that I had nothing but issues. The pricing was great, but Tim seemed to be the only person on the same page as me. This seems like a family business, so I was really bummed this didn't work out. As you can see in my photos, the stomach portion was still loose (with the ripples) and could've been taken in to fit more appropriately. The straps shouldn't have been taken done without the bra area being adjusted to support me. It's so hard to look at my wedding photos because the lack of care to my dress is so evident. The day of my elopement the bustle broke and a button came off of the zippered area. For this reason, unfortunately I would not return or recommend. I was hoping for a much better experience considering how important this was and how understanding I was working with this business despite all the issues that occurred.

The women here are kind, but that's about the only good thing I can say. I honestly don't know if they're inexperienced or just have never worked with a Black woman's curves before, but not one, not two, but three of my dresses were completely botched. I also had a top altered and it came back lopsided. After the first round of alterations, the owner tried to gaslight me, saying they had only adjusted the strap for my burgundy dress (which was never the main issue). I initially asked for the sides to be taken in because the bust area was too big, but somehow, that got lost in translation. So I paid AGAIN, for all to be fixed and what I got back was even worse. Everything felt rushed, uneven, and downright sloppy. I bawled my eyes out because these dresses were meant for my birthday trip. The white dress? It was the most horrendous one, imagine the outline of Sarah Baartman on a modern-day garment. That's how distorted the shape was. Even after a third attempt, the seams were still crooked and the dress was unwearable. I'm now left dressless for my trip and out of money. If I could give this place zero stars, I would.

Go at your own risk!…read more I bought my wedding gown at a small bridal boutique around the corner from Almedias. I had such a great experience at the bridal boutique, that when they recommended Almeidas Bridal Alterations, I figured it had to be just as great.....Boy, was I wrong. My first appointment here was...OK. I was thrown off by the fact that there was a 3 year old child running around eating cookies and chicken nuggets in the shop and touching everything. My sister also had a fitting for her gown that day, which only needed the straps to be taken up a little. I was charged $775 for everything done that day that needed to be paid in full....which I was never told about before hand. I paid it and expected great work. Before leaving that day I made a second fitting appointment for a month later. I thought it was understood that the next appointment would be made for my sister and I since we both had fittings that day. They only made the appointment for me so when my sister and I showed up for our second fitting appointments a month later, her dress was never done. The seamstress had to scramble to find her dress and did the alterations while we sat there and waited uncomfortably. She used white thread on her blue dress and left strings hanging everywhere. The clear non-slip strap that is sewn in dress to keep the straps up, was all ripped and destroyed. There was also a large visible pull in the bottom of her dress that we were told "just steam it, that will come out.." Then it was time for my second fitting. It didn't fit. I'm not sure what she did but the bust of my dress seemed to have zero of the alterations done. She claims " oh you've lost weight, that's a good thing!" However, I did not lose weight....she then re-pinned the dress and then charged me another $140. Fine. I left upset but trusting she's a professional and it will be fine. Another month goes by and I go back for my third fitting, this time with my mom. This fitting was FIVE days before my wedding. The dress is the same, nothing seemed to be done to it and she tried again to tell me " what happened?! You lost weight! That's a good thing!" This time I didn't fall for her tactics. I told her I haven't lost weight, my clothes all fit the same and I fell for that excuse the first time but I'm not falling for it again second time. She brushed it off and re-pinned the dress again and told me to come back on Thursday...THREE DAYS BEFORE MY WEDDING! I go back on Thursday and she was very rude to me. Like she was angry she had to do the work I paid for the first time again without paying a third time. The bust of my dress fit better this time but not great, but at this point I was just done. My dress did not fit on my wedding day. I tripped on it all night, the bust was up to my neck and no where near my breasts. And my sister told me after my wedding that while she was zipping me up before my ceremony, she found a hole in my dress that I spend $1500 on and about $900 more on alterations. I spent $900 for this woman to ruin my beautiful gown. I will never go back here and I will advise everyone I talk to not to go here.
